I request you to remove the picture of the man cleaning his sword. He is not a muslim. His thick beard and turban allows one to think that he is a muslim, but I assure you that he is a Sikh. That religion has nothing to do with Islam or Islamic traditions. The sikh people have been protecting Indian mainland from Afghan/Muslim invaders for centuries.
Unfortunately many of the Sikhs in USA were killed or injured after the 9/11 when people thought them to be muslims.
PS: The Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh is a Sikh himself.
PPS: Even to this day, people of India consider the Sikh to be fierce but humble warriors. Many Sikh officers have served the Indian Armed Forces with distinction and protected her people. You may search for pictures of US and Indian armies taking part in friendly training exercises. You will notice that many of those soldiers are Sikh.

anon, your concern is duly noted.

one thing I would take issue with is the statement "many of the sikhs were killed or injured in america after 911.

that is untrue. were there some criminal instances, yes some, like a handful. my recollection is only one murder was commited. your words leave the impression sikhs suffered some kind of mass killing or pogram, which did not happen.

One Sikh was killed, in Arizona. That was the only one.

I will remove the photograph.

Thanks for pointing that out to me. Sorry about the mistake.

Thanks you for clearing up the confusion, both the picture and my supposition that several sikhs were killed.

The media had certainly fed me bullshit. Thanks for the update people.supposition that several sikhs were killed.

I should have known better. I should have known this man was likely Sikh. To be honest, I just did not think before posting the photo.

Dumb mistake on my part.

No worries brother. We made a mistake, recognised it, corrected it at the earliest and now we all stand a bit more wiser. No harm done. After all, we are humans.e, recognised it, corrected it at the earliest and now we all stand a bit more wiser. No harm done. After all, we are humans.

Something is certainly wrong with my computer. It's sending repeated text in posts.
