REST IN PEACE

 GARY ROSSINGTON

Skynyrd has always been one of my favorite bands. Ask me who my guitar playing/musical influences are and they are near the top of the list.

Now they, the originals, are all gone. As are many who played for the band along the way.

Ronnie Van Zant, Bob Burns, Allen Collins, Larry Junstrom, Billy Powell, Ed King, Leon Wilkerson, Hughie Thomasson, Steve Gaines, Cassie Gaines, Ean Evans and now Gary.

So many Lynyrd Skynyrd songs I could post.

But I'll stick to the song and the solo from the man and his guitar that put Skynyrd on the map from their very first album.

This live version was recorded three and a half months before that horrific plane crash that killed Ronnie, Steve, and Cassie.

OOPS! I knew he was still alive. My mistake He (The Artimus Pyle Band) is opening for/playing shows with Blackberry Smoke and .38 Special but I don't know he was every Smokes drummer (that's Brit Turner)

Thanks for the heads up I have made the correction.
