Robert Watada: Papa Moonbat

There is a very revealing video available at Expose the Left of Ehren Watada's father, Robert, debating with Paul Hackett. During his tenure as Campaign Spending Commissioner of the state of Hawaii Robert Watada helped place many politicians in jail where they belong. In order to keep his son out of jail, or excuse his behavior, Robert Watada is trotting out all the tin foil left talking points.

In the video Watada stated that the war in Iraq is illegal and therefore, his son is justified in disobeying "illegal orders." When asked how the Iraq campaign is illegal, all Watada could do is quote Kofi Annan's statement that it is contrary to the UN Charter. However, just a few minutes before Watada stated his son had signed up to defend the US Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic, with an emphasis on domestic. He explained his meaning by claiming that "Bush lied" about WMDs. Sigh.

Far worse is what Watada had to say about the men his son was to suppose lead. He accused the troops of "slaughtering" Iraqis. He also stated that the alleged killings at Haditha where the result of direct orders to the troops to conduct such "massacres." He repeatedly characterized American soldiers as indulging in indiscriminate murder, although he had nothing to say about the terrorist bombings that target civilians.

Sad.
