Excuse me, GW, but what are we doing in South Korea?

Every once in a while the obvious course presents itself.

S. Korea Rejects President Bush's N. Korean Ship Inspection Program

HANOI, Vietnam — President Bush, trying to stiffen global resolve to confront North Korea, failed to win South Korea's support Saturday for a tough inspection program to intercept ships suspected of carrying supplies for Pyongyang's nuclear weapons and missiles.

Bush sought to persuade South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun to fully implement U.N. sanctions imposed on North Korea for testing nuclear weapons. He also sought South Korea's support in the Proliferation Security Initiative, a voluntary international program that calls for stopping ships suspected of trafficking in weapons of mass destruction.

Roh said his country "is not taking part in the full scope" of the security initiative" but that it would "support the principles and goals of the PSI."

Why bother even mouthing platitudes, Roh?
Just say it, we all get it.

"South Korea fears more than a North Korean nuclear exchange, doing something which might in any way cause upset in Pyongyang, so afraid are we. We fear this more than we honor an alliance of 56 years, and those who saved this nation. We fear this more than we honor ourselves."

"I appreciate the cooperation we're receiving from South Korea for the Proliferation Security Initiative," Bush said.

You sound like every obsequious, idiot, afraid diplomat that went before you, Bush. You are an embarassment to yourself these days. Just shut up and stay in the white house if that's all you have now.

I have a different idea.

Withdraw the 38,000 men in South Korea who now serve no useful function since the Koreans, with all the high tech, democracy, and armed forces they need, instead have a requriement for SHARK CARTILAGE to stiffen their boneless backs. Send them to Baghdad, where the last chance for those men and women may be occurring
