They should have gone self-hosted years ago.
$50 a year and you can control every aspect of the blog.
You own the domain name.
Better commenting systems, Image hosting, etc.
Wordpress is a one click setup.
Might not have been Blogger that pulled their plug. Someone could have hacked their account and erased the template.
I sure hope they had a ready contingency blog platform to copy over to and continue. I'd expect Baron, being a programmer, would have prepared for this.
Wow: that is too bad.
It was a bit of a shocker to find it the way it is now, I hope they have indeed backed up their material.

Two days ago or so, I visited GoV. The top post was about another arrest related to anti-jihadists.
Haven't been there in a REAL long time.

I rarely visit GoV. But I had heard something about another anti-Muslim-immigration activist being arrested.
Here's my response. URGENT: KEEP A COPY OF ANY BLOG OR SITE YOU HAVE, DOWNLOADED, ON YOUR COMPUTER. AND KEEP ANOTHER COPY ON AN EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE.
Downloading should be done at least once a week, if you post anything on a weekly or more frequent basis. Otherwise, download every time you add content to your blog or site.
This is easy stuff.
If you do this, and something is hacked, it takes a few minutes to re-upload. You just send your stuff back up - absolutely nothing is changed.
If you don't do this, irreplaceable information may be lost. And a massive amount of time may be lost.

The website's back up.
Google sure has an irritating 'glitch' against Gates of Vienna. This time (9:38pm Saturday, 1/19/2012), it claims a "violation of terms of service."
I see no messages from GoV at their Twitter site. Maybe an update will appear there.
BTW, Dymphna's site is HERE.
There's a militant left user on YouTube called "Chavrecycler", who has been bragging for twenty four hours that he's taken "Gates Of Vienna" down. He's a UAF/SWP member living in London, but originally from Australia....He genuinely is a nasty piece of work, and knows every underhanded trick in the book of how to remove other peoples views that he opposes Internet wide.
