End Presidential Term Limits?

Get a load of THIS!

Final paragraph:
It’s time to put that power back where it belongs. When Ronald Reagan was serving his second term, some Republicans briefly floated the idea of removing term limits so he could run again. The effort went nowhere, but it was right on principle. Barack Obama should be allowed to stand for re election just as citizens should be allowed to vote for — or against — him. Anything less diminishes our leaders and ourselves.

EPASEZ:

Whenever you think you are being paranoid, you are not paranoid enuf.

I don’t even have the words… but I do have the CHILLS.
As James Taranto said this AM, we would be so much better off if the IRS could steal another one for Obama…

Mind-Boggling Stupidity

Proof positive from this November 16, 2013 article in the Washington Post:
...[A former Democratic Party Chairperson has stated that] she thinks HealthCare.gov will be functioning well by the Nov. 30 deadline because that’s what the president said....
This statement was apparently made after Obama's announcement last Thursday, November 14, 2013.  The words denial of reality don't begin to cover this absurd statement.

Read the article for more details.

This information was released on November 15, 2013:
The team doing 24/7 repair work on HealthCare.gov has its priorities set.

About 50 of them.

Jeff Zients, the Obama administration’s point man in the repair mission, joined the daily update for reporters Friday and said there is a top priority punch list – with “50 priority fixes as we enter this week.”

And that doesn’t count the lower priority fixes in what Zients called an “iterative process.”...
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi babbling yesterday on Meet the Press:

Leadership in America today:
It is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury
Signifying nothing.

"You will not disrespect the president of the United States in this classroom"

Part of the exchange in THIS STORY at The Blaze.

More from the exchange between the teacher and the student:
...The back and forth continued and the most strident of the two students reminded his teacher that President Bush was constantly treated to negative statements about him while he was in office: “Whenever Bush was president, everybody talked sh-t about him.”

To which the teacher responded: “Because he was sh-tty.”

The social studies educator went on for a full minute with more ranting, saying that people were arrested for saying derogatory things about President Bush. The student correctly reminded the teacher that opinions are protected, but you cannot be arrested unless you threaten the president.
More HERE, including an audio of the entire exchange.

The Man Who Puts Obama To Shame

Question: Is "post-racialism" possible?
Answer: It is ... if you are not black or a Muslim.

The 36-year old Philipp Rösler will be taking office as Federal Minister of Health in the second Cabinet of Angela Merkel. (The picture above shows him at the swearing-in ceremony as Minister for Economics and Deputy Prime Minister of the federal state of Lower Saxony on February 18, 2009.) I will let you know later what makes the German Federal Minister of Health so topical today.

Rösler was born in Khanh Hoa, Vietnam, and came to Germany at the age of nine months as the adopted son of a couple that already had two biological daughters. He grew up in Hamburg and Lower Saxony. After training to become a combat medic in the Bundeswehr, Rösler was exempted to study medicine at the Hannover Medical School. Following this, he continued his education at the Bundeswehr hospital in Hamburg. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree in 2002, and left the military as a Stabsarzt, which equals the rank of an army captain, in 2003.

He is Catholic, which is decisively not the norm in strictly Protestant Lower Saxony, and a member of the General Conference of the Central Committee of German Catholics.

The picture shows Roesler with Bischof Norbert Trelle of Hildesheim and ex-Prime Minister (consecutively of two different federal states) Dr. Bernhard Vogel

Rösler has been a member of the market-liberal FDP since 1992. He was secretary of the FDP in the state of Lower Saxony from 2000 until 2004. From 2001 until 2006 Rösler was a member in the regional assembly of Hanover (district), where he was also deputy chairman of the parliamentary group. In May 2005 he was elected an observer of the federal FDP executive committee. At the state party conference in March 2006, Rösler was elected chairman of the Lower Saxony FDP. In April 2008, he was confirmed in the office, receiving 95% of the votes.

In July 2007, he was elected to stand as his party’s main candidate in the Lower Saxony state election to be held in January 2008. On 18 February 2009, Rösler was appointed minister for economy, labour and transport as well as deputy prime minister of the state of Lower Saxony.

Now it was declared that he would succeed the painfully inept "Ulla" Schmidt as Federal Minister of Health in Angela Merkel's second Cabinet.

Rösler is married to Wiebke and since Oktober 28, 2008 they are the parents of the dizygotic twins Grietje Marie und Gesche Helene."One looks rather East Frisian, like my wife, the other one resembles me", he told the glossy BUNTE.

---------- JUMP CUT ----------

Today, the trial of a man accused of killing an Egyptian woman in a German courtroom (we reported) opened in Dresden. Security is tight, about 200 police officers secure the court, the area is barred for traffic, the residents were asked to remove their cars from the streets and the accused sat behind bulletproof glass. Many attendants were wearing badges with the victim's face. "This trial is seen as having a higher than usual security risk," a police spokesman said and nobody laughed.

"He stabbed them out of pure hatred against non-Europeans and Muslims. He wanted to annihilate them," prosecutor Frank Heinrich told the court and nobody mentioned all the many peaceful Muslims for whom the security measures had to be taken because they want to annihilate US and have gone a long way towards that goal a darn sight more effectively already than the yob from Russia in the German courtroom in July in reverse.

Will it be enough? You must be joking!

---------- JUMP CUT ----------

January 31, 1997 the 42-year old Vietnamese Phan Van Toau's skull is broken by a German who smashes him on the concrete floor at Fredersdorf (Brandenburg) railway station. Three months later Phan dies in a clinic. The prosecutor at Frankfurt (Oder) opens the case against him on the grounds of xenophobia. During the trial, the perpetrator spouts racist slogans like "Fijis out of Germany". Still, the court does not follow the prosecutor and sees "no xenophobic motive" behind the deed. The defendant gets a sentence of nine and an half year for manslaughter.

In August 2008 a Vietnamese illegal cigarette dealer is stabbed to death by a German who wanted to play cops and robbers in Berlin-Marzahn. Witnesses confirm that the man had announced his deed and that he wanted "those Fijis" to go away. The head of the homicide squad saw no "hints that would suggest a racist crime". Accusations of manslaughter were dropped and the perpetrator confined to a mental institution.

It took me two minutes to find those cases through a Google search including the German search terms for "murder" and "Vietnamese". And neither in those two nor in any other of the other cases I found was a courthouse turned into a fort, no full-bodied declarations of "pure hatred against non-Europeans and Vietnamese" or "annihilation" were made, nobody wore badges with the dead men's faces and no politician went to the funerals carrying a white (or any) rose. In a word: nobody gave a damn.

Did the Vietnamese riot in the face of such REAL German coldheartedness, of such TRULY blatantly unjust sentences? Did they accuse the Germans collectively (if at all) of racism and hatred? Did they make demands? You must be joking! Instead, they went on with their clothes shops, their illegal cigarette dealings, their fruit and vegetable stalls, in a word, with their lifes*, just as Dr. Philipp Rösler did neither turn into an angry advocate for South Asians nor did he ever make his race an issue at all. He does not think that his success is justly deserved for past injustices of whites towards the non-white races, he does not speak for minorities, the disgruntled, the bitter, the jealous and the power-hungry, he does not offer himself as a redemption from the original sin of being white. He is just the right man for the job.

* This rather flip statement is supported by a 2007 study of the Ministry for Foreign Aid ("Economic Cooperation" as it is now politically correctly called). Most Vietnamese people, in West Germany more so than in the East, are well integrated. What is specifically interesting is that it was noted that they do little networking. They rather try to assimilate and to get on in life individually, based on their own merits.

In this context, the case of the rabbi who was stabbed by a friendly young man with a migration background in Frankfurt in September 2007 (we reported) deserves to be hauled from the blog bilges as well:
The 22-year-old admitted to stabbing the rabbi, prosecutors said in a statement. The man is being investigated on suspicion of attempted manslaughter and aggravated battery.

According to the rabbi, the assailant said "I’ll kill you, you Scheiß-Jude." [Expletives are hardly translatable -- Scheiß=shit, Jude=Jew].

Prosecutors said that the suspect -- whose name they did not release -- denies having either, any intention of killing the rabbi or any antisemitic motive.

Of course not. Nobody who rams a 7 1/2-centimetre blade into somebody's abdomen has intention of killing the recipient of this attention. That is true. As true as the suspect's statement that he felt threatened by and physically inferior to the middle-aged, obese rabbi and so reached for his knife. As true as he picked by mere chance a man to attack who was, by his outfit, easily identifiable as Jew. As Henryk M. Broder put it: "Here we have another case of self-defense, where the provocateur leaps aggressively into the provocatee's knife as an answer to a friendly "salam aleikum".
Jews didn't riot either in the face of such REAL German coldheartedness, of such TRULY blatantly unjust sentences. They didn't accuse the Germans collectively (if at all) of racism and hatred and they did not make demands.

Does anybody see a pattern here?

I just spotted this over at Brooke's site:

When I saw this on late-night television quite a while back, I thought I was hallucinating as I was in that state between asleep and awake.

And, yeah, the Chia Obama site is real.

Brooke asks in her brief commentary:
Where's Jackson and Sharpton with the race card?
Brooke is also offering a contest at her site:
Actually, I would like to propose a blog contest... Whoever can grow the biggest BHO fro wins a free post slot on whatever subject you choose at my humble blog! Wooooo!!!

The Washington Post Plays The Race Card

About this poster cropping up all over Los Angeles:

From this article in the Washington Post:
...[T]he poster is ultimately a racially charged image. By using the "urban" makeup of the Heath Ledger Joker, instead of the urbane makeup of the Jack Nicholson character, the poster connects Obama to something many of his detractors fear but can't openly discuss. He is black and he is identified with the inner city, a source of political instability in the 1960s and '70s, and a lingering bogeyman in political consciousness...

The Joker's makeup in "Dark Knight" -- the latest film in a long franchise that dramatizes fear of the urban world -- emphasized the wounded nature of the villain, the sense that he was both a product and source of violence. Although Ledger was white, and the Joker is white, this equation of the wounded and the wounding mirrors basic racial typology in America. Urban blacks -- the thinking goes -- don't just live in dangerous neighborhoods, they carry that danger with them like a virus. Scientific studies, which demonstrate the social consequences of living in neighborhoods with high rates of crime, get processed and misinterpreted in the popular unconscious, underscoring the idea....

It is an ugly idea, operating covertly in that gray area that is always supposed to be opened up to honest examination whenever America has one of its "we need to talk this through" episodes. But it lingers, unspoken but powerful, leaving all too many people with the sense that exposure to crime creates an ineluctable propensity to crime.

Superimpose that idea, through the Joker's makeup, onto Obama's face, and you have subtly coded, highly effective racial and political argument. Forget socialism, this poster is another attempt to accomplish an association between Obama and the unpredictable, seeming danger of urban life. It is another effort to establish what failed to jell in the debate about Obama's association with Chicago radical William Ayers and the controversy over the racially charged sermons of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

Obama, like the Joker and like the racial stereotype of the black man, carries within him an unknowable, volatile and dangerous marker of urban violence, which could erupt at any time. The charge of socialism is secondary to the basic message that Obama can't be trusted, not because he is a politician, but because he's black.

I call BS on the above article!

The idea that we cannot criticize BHO's policies because any such criticism is racism is pure nonsense. Dangerous nonsense.

With each and every presidential criticism, the critics are more and more portrayed as being racist

WHY?
Obama-socialism_0.jpgToday WaPo which is not usually a rampant ideological stone of the way left critical progressive group running what mutated out of Harry Truman's party, says this about the poster here to the right:
By using the "urban" makeup of the Heath Ledger Joker, instead of the urbane makeup of the Jack Nicholson character, the poster connects Obama to something many of his detractors fear but can't openly discuss. He is black and he is identified with the inner city, a source of political instability in the 1960s and '70s, and a lingering bogeyman in political consciousness despite falling crime rates.
I am slowly concluding that this faux racist claim, so clearly unjustified in any way whatsoever (except thru these tortuous psychological mumbo jumbo expeditions), is becoming, like Arthur C Clarke's rejoinder about violence, the last refuge for both the incompetence of the administration in hiding its ultimate agenda (their manifest DISAGREEMENT with the system of the founding brothers and their founding documents), and their clearly growing paranoia that too many are now vectoring in.

We should expect more.

For these people to succeed, they MUST convince the american people that those who support what the founding brothers wanted (i.e., libertarians and conservatives) are racists, hate the poor, and are NUTS CASES (birthers).

But their largest problem, is that posters like the one WaPo worriedly claims must be racist, cut to the quick of history's likely verdict about Barack Obama.

The damage to the nation might as well be that of a psychotic, since the system he wants has failed everywhere, drained all progress and hope from those individuals in the nations it has burdened and thus resulted finally in populations worried only about the hedonistic now, slowly crashing in on ever aging, shrinking populations.

Some racism. He is simply a more modern, MORE left Henry Wallace, and he is getting the same reaction.

There's No Mob Like An Angry Mob -- UPDATED & Bumped

just add some pitchforks and torches . . .

Updated from Jawa:

(-ed. comments are Jawa's, not mine)

DNC Disinformation Emails Being Frantically Sent to Evaporating Obama Cultists

Here's the text of the DNC email that is being frantically sent to non-mobs of Democrats so that...mobs of Obama cultists can somehow materialize without being organized? I don't know - they're the ones who are flailing.

Anyway, see what is being orchestrated against you - the American people - by the well-funded denizens of the DNC:

There’s been a lot of media coverage about organized mobs intimidating lawmakers, disrupting town halls, and silencing real discussion about the need for real health insurance reform.

The truth is, it’s a sham. These “grassroots protests” are being organized and largely paid for by Washington special interests and insurance companies (they decline to name any, because there aren't any -ed.) who are desperate to block reform. They’re trying to use lies and fear to break the President and his agenda for change (she hasn't obviously seen the fearmongering, unintentionally hilarious ad her own organization released today -ed.).

Health insurance reform is about our lives, our jobs, and our families — we can’t let distortions and intimidation get in the way. We need to expose these outrageous tactics, and we’re counting on you to help. Can you read these “5 facts about the anti-reform mobs,” then pass them along to your friends and family?

5 facts about the anti-reform anti-government takeover "mobs."

1. These disruptions are being funded and organized by out-of-district special-interest groups and insurance companies who fear that health insurance reform could help Americans (no, they aren't, but lies and DNC fearmongering are more fun than facts -ed.), but hurt their bottom line.

A group run by the same folks who made the “Swiftboat” ads against John Kerry is compiling a list of congressional events in August to disrupt. An insurance company coalition has stationed employees in 30 states to track where local lawmakers hold town-hall meetings. (again, she doesn't mention any by name, meaning that she doesn't know of any because she's lying and she'd be sued if she did name one -ed.)

2. People are scared because they are being fed frightening lies. These crowds are being riled up by anti-reform lies being spread by industry front groups (who in industry? -ed.) that invent smears to tarnish the President’s plan and scare voters. But as the President has repeatedly said, health insurance reform will create more health care choices for the American people, not reduce them (false - Obama himself has said, on multiple occasions, that the aim is to get single-payer health care instituted, which is by definition anti-choice. -ed.). If you like your insurance or your doctor, you can keep them, and there is no “government takeover” in any part of
any plan supported by the President or Congress. (also a lie - Obama wants
single-payer care, which is government-run -ed.)

3. Their actions are getting more extreme (yes, protesting and dissenting, once "the highest form of patriotism" under Bush, is "extreme." -ed.). Texas protesters brought signs displaying a tombstone for Rep. Lloyd Doggett and using the “SS” symbol to compare President Obama’s policies to Nazism. Maryland Rep. Frank Kratovil was hanged in effigy outside his district office (Sarah Palin was hanged in effigy outside a home during the campaign last fall, and her church was burned to the ground. Where was the DNC email? -ed.). Rep. Tim Bishop of New York had to be escorted to his car by police after an angry few disrupted his town hall meeting — and more examples like this come in every day. And they have gone beyond just trying to derail the President’s health insurance reform plans, they are trying to “break” the President himself and ruin his Presidency. (liberals during the Bush years, on the other hand, wanted Bush to succeed in everything he did, without
question. Look! A unicorn! -ed.)

4. Their goal is to disrupt and shut down legitimate conversation. Protesters have routinely shouted down representatives trying to engage in constructive dialogue with voters, and done everything they can to intimidate and silence regular people who just want more information.

One attack group has even published a manual instructing protesters to “stand up and shout” and try to “rattle” lawmakers to prevent them from talking peacefully with their constituents. (the left and Democrat activists, on the other hand, were
never guilty of this during the Bush years. EVER
. -ed.)

5. Republican leadership is irresponsibly cheering on the thuggish crowds. (GO OUT THERE AND GET IN THEIR FACES - Barack Obama (D) -ed.) Republican House Minority Leader John Boehner issued a statement applauding and promoting a video of the disruptions and looking forward to “a long, hot August for Democrats in Congress.” (poor widdle babies have to hear from the people they work for who they're ignoring and insulting - call the waaahmbulance -ed.)

It’s time to expose this charade, (see text of this email for the real charade -ed.) before it gets more dangerous. Please send these facts to everyone you know. You can also post them on your website, blog, or Facebook page. (in other words, organize, organize, organize while we pretend the opposition is somehow not allowed to. -ed.)

Now, more than ever, we need to stand strong together and defend the truth. (the truth is, this Obamacare plan raises the deficit, decreases quality, increases costs, limits choice, puts the government in charge of rationing care and destroys private insurance. And Americans know it. -ed.)

Thanks,
Jen

Keep a sharp lookout out for those dangerous mobs this summer, America! Don't want people protesting the government and exercising their First Amendment rights, do we?

And Don't Worry! We'll Charge Your Great Grandchildren For Your Purchases Today!

This just more frightening, terrifying, every day. And way beyond having drank the kool-aid.

Hat-tip to Cato @ Liberty ,
blogger Gene Healy here snapped this pic of an actual, honest to goodness, My Obama Shop
in D.C.'s Union Station. I kid you not, an Obama Shop. On sale are items and goodies, hats and apparel, talismans and tchotchkes as Healy puts it. All an ode and tribute, beyond a wink, more than a nod - to cultishness; a chilling reminder that we are up against tough odds with the Obamanation. Who amongst us can argue logic and fact against hordes of hoodwinked cultic-dronish followers?

Someone Please Tell Evan Thomas That The Rumors Of Obama's Godhead Are Greatly Exaggerated

I understand that Thomas is not, literally, saying that Obama is God, or even that he is, in some way, truly like God, all-knowing, all-powerful.

However, he is, literally, saying that Obama is, compared to other men, almost all-knowing and all-powerful.

That is fucking insane to me. It's the kind of delusion that a paranoid schizophrenic would come up with about a celebrity before he embarked on a serious stalking jag. This is the kind of delusion that often leads people, like Mark David Chapman, to murder people like John Lennon.

It ought to be a huge story that our media is so biased that the Editor of Newsweek could get away with saying this, and not get laughed out of the business.

Now, let us suppose that Evan Thomas knows that, even as compared to his fellow men, Obama is not a head-and-shoulders standout when it comes to being all-knowing and all-powerful.

If it is the case that Thomas is indeed cognizant of Obama's limitations when it comes to Omiscience and Omnipotence, then what the hell was Thomas referring to? Could he have been referring to the fact that Obama seems to be able to speak to a larger vision which many of the nations in the rest of the world would seem to need?

If this is the case, then it might help Thomas to know that Obama is not the first American President in history to make the decision to help other nations to arbitrate their moral problems. Reagan, Bush, FDR, Eisenhower, Truman, and even Bill Clinton, to some extent, did this.

This is what we mean, at least in part, by American Exceptionalism.

The Brits also played the role of moral arbitrator in pursuing their "Imperialistic" policy, what Kipling referred to as "White Man's Burden".

The Romans did this as well, obviously.

Russia did it too, in the sense that Communism was a philosophical system (religion) which dictated it's own moral vision to a huge number of the nations around the world.

But, Evan Thomas seems to think Obama has invented something, and that this invention puts him in a different class of leadership than any man before him.

Is that not complete insanity
=====================================================
Midnight Rider adds:
Evan Thomas is absolutely right in what he says but wrong for why he is saying it. This is exactly what Obama believes of himself and is his mission. To unite the world as one big happy fucking kumbaya we used to be the bully but now we're all pals and I'm just the Godlike person to do it.Spit.Well, we were never the bully you fucking moron Evan. We were an enforcer, a (often reluctant) policeman that stood up to the bullies of the world. The Hitlers, the Husseins, the Andropov's. Once Obama has emasculated us (sorry, ladies, best word to use at the moment) what are the rest of you going to do, Merkel and Sarkozy and Brown et. al. when Putin bares his fangs for real, when and ascendant China makes her move, or a crazy damn NorK leader decides to send one flying south? Who ya gonna call? This is precisely why I said a few days ago the biggest threat to The United States and our National sSecurity is not Al Qaida or North Korea or Iran or China or even Obama. It is our own fucking media who spew this vomit believe it themselves and thereby get a stupid sleeping citizenry to believe becasue they are too damn lazy to look elsewhere and too much of a rush for Little Johnny's soccer match and get home in time for Desperate Housewives to think for their fucking selves

Instead of praising Obama for this kind of nonsense he shoudl be using the same phrases to slam him for it.

Dangerous Thinking

From this letter to the editor of the Washington Post:
It is now up to us -- the people who voted for him -- to show massive support. It is up to us to put pressure on our senators and representatives to pass this budget.

If this budget fails, then it is we who have failed, not Mr. Obama.
Read the entire letter here.

Now consider the following information excerpted from the book Captive Hearts, Captive Minds by Madeleine Landau Tobias and Janja Lalich:
In cults and abusive relationships, those in a subordinate position usually come to accept the abuse as their fault, believing that they deserve the foul treatment or that it is for their own good. They sometimes persist in believing that they are bad rather than considering that the person upon whom they are so dependent is cruel, untrustworthy, and unreliable. It is simply too frightening for them to do that: it threatens the balance of power and means risking total rejection, loss, and perhaps even death of self or loved ones.

This explains why an abused cult follower may become disenchanted with the relationship or the group yet continue to believe in the teachings, goodness, and power of the leader.
Also see the following web site: Is Barack Obama the Messiah?

Let's go back to a year ago.

Video made before the November 4 election:

CNN video, February 15, 2008:

The signs of The Obama Cult were present. Like all cult followers, those caught up in the momentum of the cult did not see the danger signs — nor do BHO's followers and defenders see the danger signs now, as evidenced by the letter to the editor cited at the beginning of this post. How does one reason with these people?
