Now Erick Erickson of Redstate and CNN Gets SWATted

People who are telling the truth about Brett Kimberlin are suddenly having SWAT teams called to their homes (saying someone has been shot/murdered) to drag them out at gunpoint.

So far, no one has gotten hurt, thank God.

Could there be a connection between Kimberlin and the phone calls being placed to Police Depts.?

From Ace of Spades:

Is anyone in the media going to cover this, or are they all going to continue giving the leftwing the Green Light for terrorizing people?
Even though Erick Erickson is a CNN contributor, I think there's a good chance they won't cover the story. If they do, you can bet your bottom dollar it will be a "balanced" piece including lots of supposed harassments of liberals.
They'll reach back ten years for "balance."
There are only two media storylines: Conservatives are doing bad things, and "a broken system permits both sides to do bad things."
There is never the third type of story: Leftists are doing bad things.

Alexander, Undercover Operation - Cairo 2012

They say Alexander died in his sleep, of a heart attack.

But I have to wonder.

This photo and caption is the last thing Alexander posted. Maybe Alexander is not dead, but instead has merely expanded his field of operations.

Salafist policeman in Germany suspended for connections to radicals

The German authorities have done the right thing and put an inciter's career on hold:
BERLIN – Authorities in the west German city of Duisburg suspended an officer who is a member of a growing radical movement of Islamists in the Federal Republic because he misused his access to confidential domestic intelligence information in connection with the observation of the Salafi group.

“It is a very, very serious case,” said a spokesman for the Interior Ministry of North Rhine-Westphalia, according to a report last week in the Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung (WAZ).

The suspended officer is named Ali K. German media frequently do not release the last names of suspects. The WAZ reported that Ali K’s police functions could have been compromised because he was supposed to monitor Salafists. Ali K. had contacts to radical Islamic preachers who advocate hate, the newspaper said.

The radical group of German Salafists is considered as rejecting the democratic structure of the Federal Republic and propagating violence against non-Muslims, specifically women, gays, and Jews.

The authorities first discovered the 31-year-old Ali K.’s pro-Salafist activity last month when he registered for a permit allowing an information booth to give out Salafist literature in a public place. According to the WAZ, Essen police president Stephania Fischer-Weinsziehr believes he will be “dismissed from the civil service.”
They'd be strongly advised to move ahead with his dismissal at once. This is certainly taking a lot more responsibility than the authorities in Britain are.

'EXORCIST' author to sue Georgetown after Sebelius visit...

The author of best-selling novel “The Exorcist” says he plans to sue alma mater Georgetown University in a Vatican court after the Catholic school invited Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to speak on campus.
The author, William Peter Blatty, says the Jesuit-founded university in Washington has for the past two decades invited speakers who support abortion rights and has refused to comply with orders by the late Pope John Paul II for church-affiliated colleges and universities.
The “last straw” was the university allowing students to invite Sebelius to speak May 18, considering she was instrumental in helping President Obama draft health care reform that includes a mandate for some religious institutions to offer insurance to cover employees’ birth-control costs, said Blatty, who attended Georgetown on a scholarship and graduated in 1950.
“I owe much to the Jesuit fathers and to Georgetown University,” Blatty says on his The Father of King Society website. “What I owe Georgetown, however, is nothing as compared to what Georgetown owes to its founders and the Christ of faith.”

In Memory of Alex Münch

Our good friend Alex has passed away.  He was a frequent commenter here at IBA and a regular participant in the chat room at The Gathering Storm Radio Show on Blog Talk Radio.

I just got off the phone from speaking to his son Amnon. Of course, I offered my condolences.

I was crying then, and I'm crying now.

Alex was a good friend to Mr. AOW and me. When Mr. AOW was in the nursing home, nobody called him there - except for Alex, who phoned all the way from Israel to speak to my husband.

"Courage from Israel!"  he stated emphatically.

Alex also phoned our home several times after Mr. AOW came home. Mr. AOW loved those calls.  They meant a lot to him and to me as well.

Amnon asked me to post an announcement here on the web as Alex's family didn't know all the Internet acquaintances and friends that Alex had made.

Tough as I am, I am typing this post through tears.

I will miss Alex.  He was a rock - and lots of fun too.

Alexander Munch 1948-2012

Our friend and beloved commenter, and contributor of much important information and hilarity, Alexander Munch, died last night of a heart attack in his sleep.

Now, he goes to meet G-d, the Creator of the Universe, and to join his fathers, mothers, sisters, and brothers in the land of many Mansions, the great City beyond, where there are no terrorists, no tears, and all of life is a great Wedding Feast for G-d and the Bride of Shabbot.

I'm Baaaack!

The 2011-2012 classes I teach end on Tuesday, May 29.

For all intents and purposes, I don't have any "homework" now.

I'm looking forward to a summer of frequent blogging as we approach the November 2012 National Elections.

Recent Essay By Ayaan Hirsi Ali

The essay "Why America Is the World's Shelter" appears in the June 2012 edition of Smithsonian, recently voted the most interesting magazine in America. Excerpt:
...I began receiving physical threats: “You are no longer a Muslim, you are an apostate, you must be killed.” Finally, in 2004, the Dutch director Theo van Gogh and I created the film Submission focused on violence against Muslim women. Van Gogh was killed by a Dutch-born Islamic fundamentalist on a street in Amsterdam because of it.

Before van Gogh’s death I was placed under intense security. Afterward I was put in a virtual prison to keep me safe. The logical thing was for me to emigrate somewhere else, where I could be free and safe: I found that in America. In 2006 the American Enterprise Institute, a think tank based in Washington, D.C., offered me a job, a community of scholars, an application for a visa. The AEI raised money to pay for private protection, which I still have to this day. In terms of shelter and protection, this country has been so absolutely wonderful to me.

Today, I pursue the work of my foundation, which I established in 2007. Our mission is to protect and defend the rights of women and girls in the West from oppression and violence justified by religion and culture. By religion, I mean, first and foremost, militant Islam.

For me America is a place of refuge and a great nation. I say this without being blind to the problems we have in this country. But the people I have encountered here have given me protection, friendship, love. I feel not only safe, but also absolutely free to lead the life I wanted.

The essay isn't hard-hitting. However, I surmise that people who read Smithsonian don't read a lot of anti-jihad material. Maybe some of those people reading Ayaan Hirsi Ali's essay as they are waiting in a doctor's office or visiting the public library will go to the Internet to learn more or, better yet, buy one of her books.

By the way, an essay by Ayaan Hirsi Ali also recently appeared in Newsweek. You can ready that essay HERE.

Did This Wannabe Jihadist Get Much News Coverage?

The mainstream media certainly glossed over the story.  Maybe I missed the coverage?  I've been quite busy with end-of-schoolterm matters.

From this source, dated May 24, 2012:
WACO, Texas (AP) – A federal jury on Thursday convicted a Muslim soldier on six charges in connection with a failed plot to blow up a Texas restaurant full of Fort Hood troops, his religious mission to get "justice" for the people of Iraq and Afghanistan....
More details at the above link.

Dave Gaubatz comments in his 26 May 2012 newsletter:
One has to wonder why this has not made national news. Isn't a planned suicide bombing attack by a Muslim U.S. soldier significant news the public would be interested in?

Indeed it is, but if the Main Stream Media were to widely distribute this planned suicide attack it would cause Americans to question the true meaning of Islam itself. The last thing President Obama and his Administration want is for anything to make MSM news which reflects badly on Islam even if it could bring awareness to Americans and possibly thwart other attacks.
