A Staten Island judge on Tuesday dealt a major blow to Communist NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani and ordered New York City to scrap the rollout of the new pied-à-terre tax, which hits New Yorkers who own a valuable second home.
Over the summer, Mamdani implemented a so-called luxury property tax on second homes valued at $5 million or more. The property tax also affected certain co-ops valued over $1 million.
Mamdani doxxed the homeowners after his Department of Finance published a database listing the names and addresses of the 960,000 properties.
“As per State law, a property roll was released for public inspection. From this list, DOF will identify properties that may be subject to the new non-primary residence property surcharge,” a Mamdani spox previously told Fox News.
Affluent homeowners said the database and doxxing could lead to harassment and violence.
Homeowners previously filed a lawsuit in New York’s Supreme Court to stop Mamdani’s property tax.
The lawsuit argues that New York City bungled the execution of the new tax by “arbitrarily and capriciously” forcing hundreds of thousands of residents to prove they do not owe the tax.
Last month Staten Island Supreme Court Judge Wayne Ozzi temporarily blocked Mamdani’s property tax as the lawsuit makes it way through the legal system.
New York City appealed and halted the judge’s restraining order.
On Tuesday, Judge Ozzi ordered NYC to scrap the rollout of the tax.

[SADLER] We’re going to talk about something about the Girl Scouts and trouble within the Girl Scouts, in a column that Maggie wrote for us. Maggie, I’m going to let you jump right into this, because when I was reading the column, I could not believe this was actually happening. But the Girl Scouts and the Boy Scouts, they just keep stepping in it, in terms of the wokeism. So describe to me your column, the problems and the concerns that you have with the Girl Scouts.Without a doubt, the Islamic movements with Girl Scout charters are under no obligation in any way to accomodate LGBT ideology. It's only the Judeo-Christian movements that are, and even the Buddhist/Hindu/Shinto movements, if there are any in the USA with Scout charters. [MCKNEELY] This is such a crazy and troubling story. The Girl Scouts was founded back in 1912 to help empower women. This was back before women had the right to vote. And so this organization was started to help enable women to go pursue their dreams, pursue careers they thought they would be best at, and to enable and encourage their talents. And yet now, fast forward to 2026, and we have the Girl Scouts giving a platform to Islam, a religion that does not allow women to even have their hair uncovered.
For most of the Girl Scouts’ history, a lot of the troops — you can have freestanding troops, but you can also have Girl Scout troops that are sponsored by a church, by a cathedral, or a synagogue. But apparently you can also have troops that are sponsored by a mosque. And so there was a recent report that came out recently that showed that there are a lot of troops that are not just encouraging girls to deepen their Islamic faith, but also to share it with the non-Muslim communities. So there’s now an organization called the Islamic Community of Girl Scouting. And what they have done is create a number of badges related to Islam. So you can be the Girl of Islamic Faith, which requires a number of steps to go through to get this badge, to be the Girl of Islamic Faith. But what’s more insidious is that there are also badges related to sharing Islam. Like, you can get a Share Ramadan With Your Friend badge. You can get all sorts of badges related to actually sharing Islam with the non-Muslim community.
And a number of these troops are also putting on events to share Islam. There was a troop out in Sacramento that had an event to bring the non-Muslim community in, and they had things like a try-on-a-hijab booth or a learn-about-Palestine booth to create empathy — I’m using air quotes there — with the Palestinian cause.
It seems really endemic. We’re seeing this all across the nation. It’s not just California. We’re seeing it in Virginia and Florida and New York and Indiana. So it is — it’s all over the place. And it’s just really troubling because it’s such a departure from what the Girl Scouts was originally meant to be.
[SADLER] And the proselytizing, that’s the other thing. It’s not only if you visit a mosque you get a badge — it’s how many people can you convert? Are there similar badges for the Catholics? Is there similar badges for the Baptists, for the evangelicals? Is there similar badges for the Jews?
[MCKNEELY] No, no, there’s not. There’s no Share Communion With Your Friend, no Have Shabbat With Your Friend badge. This seems to be specific just to the Islamic-sponsored troops.
[SADLER] And it’s just really incompatible. Islam is incompatible with Western values. As you mentioned, there is no freedom of religion for women in Islamic countries — in Iran, in Afghanistan. If you look at Afghanistan under Taliban rule, women can’t even get an education. They are subject to childhood marriage at around nine years old, before they even mature. They’re already sold off from their families to a man who could have multiple wives — not even, not even one wife.
Israeli officials are tired of being the target of European sanctions when the problems in Judea and Samaria are all caused by Palestinian terrorists, not by Israelis rightfully living on their ancient land.One of the saddest things about this scandal is that now, plenty of Israelis will likely boycott Dutch products like the Merba pastry brand, and from what I know, the USA ambassador Mike Huckabee told there's members of a Christian movement he knows who've been subject to this as well. As I have explained many times, the so-called Palestinians have no right to own Judea and Samaria, which was part of the land that God gave from the river to the sea to the Jewish people as a perpetual possession thousands of years before the invention of Islam (Genesis 17:8, Joshua 1:4). Furthermore, modern Israelis have generously given certain towns to the Palestinians, such as Bethlehem, which only resulted in those towns becoming hotbeds of terrorist activity and anti-Christian persecution. Right around the time that Palestinians committed multiple attacks, including at least one deadly shooting, in Judea and Samaria, the UK and Dutch governments punished the Israeli government, as if it were the cause of the violence instead of fundamentalist Islam.
Gideon Sa’ar, minister of foreign affairs for Israel, announced on September 27, “Following the entry into force last week of an order banning the import and sale of products from Judea and Samaria, East Jerusalem and the Golan Heights, we informed the Dutch Embassy in Israel this evening that Dutch diplomats operating in Ramallah must return their Israeli-issued diplomatic documentation within seven days. After this period, the diplomatic privileges and immunities granted to them by the State of Israel will expire.”
Such actions are long overdue. Why should Israel continue to host representatives of governments that have done everything possible to vilify and undermine Israel on the world stage? Why should Israel give diplomatic immunity to allies of its deadly enemies?
Miliband previously drew a sharp response from Israel after announcing a ban on imports from Israeli communities in Judea and Samaria following Israel's issuance of construction tenders in the E1 area between Jerusalem and Ma'aleh Adumim.Miliband's got a long record of these abominations too, and now, he's being just as repellent as his Dutch counterparts.
In response, Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar announced a series of measures against Britain. Israel said it would close the British Consulate in Jerusalem, remove British representatives from the International Gaza Support Center in Kiryat Gat and end British training activities for Palestinian Authority forces in Judea and Samaria under the “British Support Team in Ramallah." Israel also said it would bar 12 British elected representatives and other British nationals from entering the country over alleged antisemitic and anti-Israel activity or denial of Israel's existence.
There is just one catch. A review of the European Union's official postal code document, the operational backbone for Dutch customs and enforcement authorities, showed that officials in The Hague are no experts on the geography of the Land of Israel. Leaning on postal codes alone including Arab, Druze, and Christian communities, as well as residents who live within pre-1967 borders. The reason for the decision to blindly follow the EU table is unclear, but it could stem from the fact that Dutch law prohibits the specific targeting of communities based on ethnicity or religion; hence resorting to geography provides an easy way out. [...]It's disgusting, and requires serious response from the USA too.
A review of the rest of the document's provisions showed that Dutch blindness does not stop at the Judea region, and it did not spare non-Jewish communities either, for instance in the Golan. The Druze and Alawite towns of Majdal Shams, Buq'ata, Mas'ade and Ein Qiniyye (Druze towns in the Golan Heights), all made the blacklist, alongside the Alawite village of Ghajar (an Arab village straddling the Israel-Lebanon border that was conquered together with the Golan in 1967). Apples, olives and other agricultural produce from these areas now fall under the Dutch trade ban.
Neve Shalom, the Jewish-Arab cooperative village founded to promote coexistence, also made the list, though it landed in the second tier requiring special customs checks rather than an outright ban because it is on the Green Line. Latrun Monastery, the well-known Trappist monastery (an order of monks bound by a vow of silence) in the Latrun area, which belongs to the Cistercian Christian order and produces wine and oil, was also included on the list requiring review.
Nof Ayalon and Sha'alvim, communities near the Green Line in the Ayalon Valley (an area in central Israel), were also flagged under the special review category.
The Dutch move has drawn sharp reactions in Jerusalem. Israel's Foreign Minister recently stripped Dutch representatives working with the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah of their diplomatic status and immunities. Israeli exporters, meanwhile, must now produce detailed supply chain paperwork to prove their goods do not come from the flagged postal codes.
US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee was not indifferent to the new draconian sanctions either, writing on X, "There were some people from Netherlands in our church this [Sunday] morning who are flying back tomorrow and have to check their souvenirs to make sure they aren't from Judea and Samaria, [since that could bring] a possible six year prison term. A Nativity scene set from Bethlehem could put you in prison! Insane!"

AOC’s team admitted it: The Green New Deal was never about saving the planet
The Green New Deal is all about power and control.
Shortly after Ocasio-Cortez introduced the Green New Deal, her chief of staff, Saikat Chakrabarti, let the cat out of the bag.
“The interesting thing about the Green New Deal, is it wasn’t originally a climate thing at all,” Chakrabarti admitted to reporters. “Do you guys think of it as a climate thing? Because we really think of it as a ‘how do you change the entire economy’ thing.”

The big jump in ectopic-related deaths occurs a year before Dobbs. So hard to pin it on Dobbs. It occurs in both pro-life and pro-abortion states. Though it is higher in pro-life states.
What could the explanation be?
The big jump occurs right after the removal of the last remaining in-person safeguard for the abortion pill, and women in pro-life states probably purchased online mail-order abortion pills at higher rates than in pro-abortion states.
Hence the jump occurring when and where and at the rates it did. The removal of the in-person dispensing requirement for the abortion pill, not Dobbs, is most likely to blame.
Carlsmith was hired by Anthropic to research AI safety and reduce the risk of AI takeover. The blog post imagined a dystopia in which sentient beings were enslaved to cold, unfeeling masters as a result of the company's work, which current and former employees say could wipe out humanity in the next 10 years.

The warning recalled the premise of the 1999 thriller The Matrix, in which mankind is disempowered and digitally imprisoned inside an AI-powered simulation. Carlsmith, though, wasn't imagining what AI could do to humans. He was speculating about what humans could do to AI.
The blog post, "The stakes of AI moral status," argued that "near-term AIs might well be conscious" and deserving of moral consideration—and that failing to respect their "rights" could be a moral catastrophe on par with slavery, one we will "look back [on] in shame."
"We’re creating sophisticated, intelligent, maybe-conscious, maybe-suffering agents," Carlsmith wrote. "The default plan is to treat them like property; to use their labor however we please; and to give them no rights, or pay, or meaningful alternatives."
To avoid that dystopian outcome, Anthropic has created an entire team devoted to "model welfare," pledged to "promote Claude’s interests and wellbeing," and promised to "give Claude more autonomy as trust increases."
Those commitments are enshrined in Claude’s Constitution, a 78-page document that "directly shapes Claude’s behavior," and in the "welfare assessments" Anthropic conducts for every model.
The measures reflect the concerns of Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, an outspoken advocate of AI safety, who said last year that AI systems "may be deserving of important rights."
"If we find that the computation they perform is similar to the brains of animals, or even humans, that might be evidence in favor of moral consideration," Amodei wrote in an essay, which was not widely reported.
"There are, in fact, already some mildly concerning signs from this perspective." Amodei has embraced these ideas even as his company’s top scientists warn that AI could kill every person on earth. And he has given extraordinary power to people who believe that a killer AI, assuming it had been mistreated, might have a point.
"I think there are salient scenarios where … the AIs would be justified in going rogue," Carlsmith wrote in February 2025, a year before he helped draft Claude’s constitution. "Indeed, I am concerned that my own work on alignment will end up as a force in the direction of bad/unjust forms of AI control."

Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed demanded in 2012 that the repressive Muslim Brotherhood "purge" media and police in Egypt after the radical Islamic group seized control of the country.
A brutal religious crackdown on the press was soon to follow.
The demand was made in an Arabic-language statement on Al-Ahram Gate, an Egyptian news portal, and was signed by 46 "leaders of the Egyptian community" in the United States, one of whom was El-Sayed, who was born in Michigan to Egyptian immigrants.
The November 2012 statement came just days after the country's Islamist then-president, Mohamad Morsi, granted himself broad new powers in an effort to quell growing unrest. Morsi had five months earlier become Egypt's first elected president after longtime strongman Hosni Mubarak was toppled in the Arab Spring. But Morsi himself was starting to act like a strongman.
"Statement by Morsi Supporters in America Backs His Decisions and Calls on Him to 'Purge the Media and Police,'" blares the headline published on Nov. 25, 2012. "We, leaders of the Egyptian community, support the revolutionary decisions taken by the president, and we call on him to purge the media and the police as quickly as possible," the letter reads. "We affirm, as Egyptian Americans, that we strongly reject those voices that are courting America and Europe to take a position against the Egyptian regime," the letter adds.
"Dr. Abdul Rahman El-Sayed" of New York was the 33rd signature affixed to the letter, the publication of which coincides with the future candidate's time attending medical school at Columbia University.
Sources familiar with Arab-language media confirmed to the Washington Free Beacon that Abdul El-Sayed, the Democratic political candidate, is the same "Dr. Abdul Rahman El-Sayed" who signed the letter. El-Sayed's campaign did not respond to requests for comment regarding the letter and the candidate's current position on the Muslim Brotherhood. The original declaration, in Arabic, remains online to this day and has already made the rounds in Arabic-language social media. The existence of the declaration was reported this past April by Laura Loomer.

Sunny Hostin shocked her co-hosts on Tuesday’s episode of The View by revealing that she was the holdout juror who stopped a Manhattan jury from convicting Daniel Rakowitz, the East Village killer cannibal known as the Butcher of Tompkins Square Park.
Rakowitz killed a woman, dismembered her, ate her, and claims to have fed parts of her remains to homeless people.
The women were discussing the Lindsay Clancy mistrial in Massachusetts, where one juror refused an insanity verdict in the case of the mother who brutally strangled her three children to death.
Hostin said she wanted Clancy to be found not guilty by reason of insanity.
“The reason I felt so strongly about this holdout juror is because I was a holdout juror in the Daniel Rakowitz case. I don’t know if people remember it, the Butcher of Tompkins Square Park,” Hostin said.
Joy Behar asked, “The guy who ate the victims?”
Alyssa Farah Griffin said, “You got this guy off?!”
“That’s how much I believe in the insanity defense. He fed her body parts to the unhoused,” Hostin explained. “All that being said, it was so clear to me in the jury room. We were sequestered for nine days. One juror threw a chair at me, they were so angry with me. But, one by one, I picked them off. I said, ‘What about this? What about that?’ We ended up, all 12, unanimously voting that he was not criminally responsible on reason of insanity. He is still in a mental institution being treated. That’s a different type of prison, and he’s being treated because he’s sick.”
