Less than 4 miles from me, a hand grenade was discovered early this morning on the sidewalk outside one of the businesses on that busy corridor.
The road is now shut down in both directions, and all businesses within a one-block radius have been evacuated.
The bomb squad is on its way. Update: The robot has removed the grenade from the sidewalk.
Maybe the grenade is some kind of hoax, maybe not.
THANK GOD THAT THE AOW HOUSEHOLD HASN'T BEEN ORDERED TO EVACUATE!

What was the business? Who owned it?
The grenade was found outside Merchant Tire. I'm not sure who owns that particular franchise.
According to the latest police report:
Upon examination, they found that, although it was a real grenade, its internal components had been removed making it inoperable.
Somebody's idea of a joke? Pfffft.
