American Schools Say: God? No! Allah? Yes!

From Michelle Malkin:

In Dallas, a school district strikes the words "In God We Trust" from the photo of an enlarged nickel on a yearbook cover for fear of offending students of differing religions.

In California, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals (the one that outlawed the Pledge of Allegiance for its reference to God) approved putting public school students through Muslim role-playing exercises. Investor's Business Daily reminds us:

In a recent federal decision that got surprisingly little press, even from conservative talk radio, California's 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled it's OK to put public-school kids through Muslim role-playing exercises, including:

Reciting aloud Muslim prayers that begin with "In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful . . . ."

Memorizing the Muslim profession of faith: "Allah is the only true God and Muhammad is his messenger."

Chanting "Praise be to Allah" in response to teacher prompts.

Professing as "true" the Muslim belief that "The Holy Quran is God's word."

Giving up candy and TV to demonstrate Ramadan, the Muslim holy month of fasting.

Designing prayer rugs, taking an Arabic name and essentially "becoming a Muslim" for two full weeks.

Parents of seventh-graders, who after 9-11 were taught the pro-Islamic lessons as part of California's world history curriculum, sued under the First Amendment ban on religious establishment. They argued, reasonably, that the government was promoting Islam.

But a federal judge appointed by President Clinton told them in so many words to get over it, that the state was merely teaching kids about another "culture."

So the parents appealed. Unfortunately, the most left-wing court in the land got their case. The 9th Circuit, which previously ruled in favor of an atheist who filed suit against the words "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance, upheld the lower court ruling.

The decision is a major victory for the multiculturalists and Islamic apologists in California and across the country who've never met a culture or religion they didn't like — with the exception of Western civilization and Christianity. They are legally in the clear to indoctrinate kids into the "peaceful" and "tolerant" religion of Islam, while continuing to denigrate Judeo-Christian values.

In the California course on world religions, Christianity is not presented equally. It's covered in just two days and doesn't involve kids in any role-playing activities. But kids do get a good dose of skepticism about the Christian faith, including a biting history of its persecution of other peoples. In contrast, Islam gets a pass from critical review. Even jihad is presented as an "internal personal struggle to do one's best to resist temptation," and not holy war...

...This case is critical not just to our culture but our national security. It should be brought before the Supreme Court, which has outlawed prayer in school. Let's see what it says about practicing Islam in class. It will be a good test for the bench's two new conservative justices.

Meanwhile, creeping sharia in the public schools continues apace. Seattle is preparing to consider a proposal to accomodate Muslim student prayers.

Where's the ACLU screaming over this one? A high school is forbidden from having a prayer at commencement (as is their tradition) but pupils can be indoctrinated as Muslims for a few weeks?

Perhaps someone in California needs to start teaching kids Judeo-Christian culture for weeks at a time, citing this as a precedent- wonder how long the judgement would stand then?

Good idea, Jay Mac. Now, we just have to find some lawyers willing to take the case, and a teacher willing to put his, or her, job on the line.

Muslim role-playing. Intersting idea for a new game, perhaps. A MMORPG type thing would be good.

America and the West could never be beaten by external forces, but this cultural deathwish and self loathing within the institutions we entrust with our children's education will destroy our civilisation and enslave our children.

Why does this generation produce so many Chamberlains and Quislings and so few Churchills?

As a parent of 3 children in the California school system, this is nothing new to me. My now 15 year old daughter was exposed to this in 7th grade. I and another parent was able to more than halfway throughout the school year, get the teacher fired from being a 7th grade social studies teacher. The teacher told me that he was a Science teacher and since he had tenure to be a Social Studies teacher would mean more money.

He also asked me upon meeting with me that he's surprised I didn't have the JDL and other Jew Organizations with me. When I asked if I could record our meeting he said NO and smiled. But I'm a good transcriptionist by trade and in my speedwriting took down what was said.

He failed my daughter in the fall because she did a timeline instead of dressing and living like a Muslim. The assignment was a choice, live and act like a Muslim or pick an exercise from the book (which was to be cancelled from all California Schools), Across the Centuries (Houghton-Mifflin). She chose the timeline which was extremely sugarcoated about Muhammed and Islam. With help from natives of Israel, Egypt, Libya and Morocco, we were able to write a more accurate timeline including the cites of where we got the information from. All the references were from Arab/Muslim books including text books from Egypt and Israel (Arab of course).

The teacher due to tenure is still teaching now Science. The lie made by the local schools to us parents was that he would not be able to teach in the same county. He's now teaching in a junior high school across town.

In the high school a newly converted Muslim English teacher starts her class with barely the pledge but makes sure all of her students recite the shahadah prior to starting of class. I got my daughter out of that Englsih class and made another formal complaint. I'm branded a Jewish Hitler by some because of my stance. In case they have never picked up a history book, hitler's schools started off with a pledge to Hitler and his cause.

It's frightening to see the similarities are endless between how Nazism got started and what is going on in our own schools in this new century. Our children/grandchildren will not know the freedoms that we knew because our leaders are too BLIND to see the differences.

This election day - DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT allow the appeasers back into office. Remember we are a country of many faiths and creeds but the bottomline is that we are ALL Americans and only those for the country should be in office. Do not let the Dennis Kruciniks, Lynn Woolseys, John Kerry's, Ted Kennedy's, etc. in. SAY NO TO APPEASEMENT - SAY NO TO SEDITIONISTS AND TRAITORS!
