All of us, every single man, woman, and child on the face of the Earth were born with the same unalienable rights; to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And, if the governments of the world can't get that through their thick skulls, then, regime change will be necessary.

Now we're getting into the very crux of the matter. Western civilization has been thoroughly conditioned (by whom/what?) to continually snark at itself. It's practically universally cool or fashionable to be like that. Not appreciating the little miracles furnished by our superb technologies is a major symptom of that pernicious self deprecation.
We have far too many Seinfeld/Bill Maher types (i.e. droll irony-supremacists) and not nearly enough Louis CK/Bill Whittle types.
By the way, wouldn't it be great to see Bill over here posting an occasional report, comment, or opinion piece at the IBA? Anyone ever tapped him? If he sees this video he will like it.
I haven't seen a post at "EEE" since Christmas Eve. I could never get his videos at PJ to work, for some reason. I was also kind of hoping to see more of his stuff at NRO, too.
