Zelensky Asks Spirit Blood Artist Marina Abramovic to Be Ambassador for Ukraine

Volodymyr Zelensky has asked Marina Abramović, the performance artist, to be an ambassador for Ukraine. ‌
Ms Abramović, a fierce critic of Vladimir Putin’s illegal invasion, said the Ukrainian president had asked for her help in rebuilding schools.
‌The 76-year-old Serbian is holding her first solo exhibition in the UK and is the first female artist to have a major show in the Main Galleries of the Royal Academy of Arts in London. ‌

Visitors to the exhibition must squeeze between two nude models to enter the show, or opt to bypass what one journalist dubbed the “naked gates”.

From Wiki:

These "recipes" were meant to be "evocative instructions for actions or for thoughts".[39] For example, one of the recipes calls for "13,000 grams of jealousy," while another says to "mix fresh breast milk with fresh sperm milk."[40] The work was inspired by the popular belief that ghosts feed off intangible things like light, sound, and emotions.[41]

In 1997, Abramović created a multimedia Spirit Cooking installation. This was originally installed in the Zerynthia Associazione per l'Arte Contemporanea in Rome, Italy and included white gallery walls with "enigmatically violent recipe instructions" painted in pig's blood.[42]
