We had a horrible experience with a hospitalist from Pakistan. My husband was in the hospital for five days and his former surgeon visited him, just as a friend. The hospitalist - who was not very bright - did not order a surgical consult - which was HIS DUTY - because he saw a surgeon visiting! Five days wasted and nothing was accomplished. We kept wondering why there was never a surgical consult. It did not occur to us that the man was that stupid - but he was. Hospitals hire them because they are cheap labor.
