Tucker Carlson said it was wrong to fight Hitler because Britain wound up losing her overseas colonies.

That's a morally deranged argument.

I should also point out that this is entirely an argument pressed with all vigor by Adolph Hitler. It is true that Hitler repeatedly said he didn't want to go to war with Britain, though he said that with the threat that if Britain didn't allow him to capture all of Europe from the Urals to the Atlantic, he would go to war with Britain.

The pitch Hitler made to the UK, repeatedly, was that if the UK gave Hitler a free hand in conquering Europe, Hitler would allow the UK to maintain its overseas colonies and might even help. Of course, Hitler intended to capture all of the overseas colonies of the European countries he conquered. He was reassuring the UK that if they let him take over Europe and all of the overseas colonies maintained by Europe, he would not take further action to capture the UK's overseas colonies.

Of course... Hitler had repeatedly promised to not invade Czechloslovakia and then Poland and Russia and he had lied about all of that, so I'm not sure why Tucker Carlson keeps saying "but Hilter said, Hitler said" as if Hitler's word means anything at all. Except for that fact that Carlson is clearly a fan of Hitler.
