Tick Tick Tick

The world has begun to welcome Obama. Remember, we have been told that America would get more respect and love.

The countdown, as Biden warned but the electorate failed to listen to, has already begun:

Russia to deploy missiles along NATO borders

MOSCOW - President Dmitry Medvedev said Wednesday that Russia will deploy missiles in territory near NATO member Poland in response to U.S. missile defense plans.

He did not say whether the short-range Iskander missiles would be fitted with nuclear warheads.

In his first state of the nation speech, Medvedev also blamed the U.S. for the war in Georgia and the global financial crisis. He said he hoped Barack Obama would act to improve relations with Russia but he did not offer congratulations to the president-elect.

Oh, yes, when I read that I just couldn't help seeing the bad joke...

On Wednesday morning, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev gave his first annual address to the nation and he chose to attack the United States' "selfish" foreign policy and "economic blunders," that he says led to the global financial crisis. And just a few hours after Obama was declared the victor in the US presidential elections, Medvedev upped the ante in Moscow's dispute with Washington over the US missile defense installations in Eastern Europe.
