Where comics writer Kurt Busiek now posts his sad political rants

Years ago, when X was Twitter, leftist writer Kurt Busiek had plenty of terrible leftist drivel to say there. Today, after Elon Musk bought out the social network, it looks like Busiek no longer posts there, presumably because he can't stand being on a rightist-owned site, and now he's turned to Blue Sky. And here's a few examples of his continuing leftist rhetoric there. For example:

Wow, look how he's trying to draw a moral equivalence between antisemitic and "anti-palestinian" sentiment, making it sound like Iran's mullahs are literally against local Moslems, or as though the fabricated race/community "palestine" isn't Islamic. Put another way, Busiek's clearly not interested in doing any research to determine that the whole name "palestine" was a Roman conception, drawing from the Philistines, to humiliate the land of Stan Lee's ancestry. Also interesting how Busiek simultaneously attacks the POTUS who's now overseeing a raid against Iran's tyrants to destroy their murderous weaponry. Whose side is Busiek on anyway? He's right that Iran's got anti-LGBTQ positions, but, if he won't acknowledge it stems from the teachings of the koran, then his approach there falls flat too.

Then we have:

The USA military many sigificant achievements so far, like destroying Iran's naval crafts, and Busiek's ungrateful? Just what and who does Busiek stand for anyway?

Busiek even posted the following involving Israel:

How intriguing he lectures us all that Israelis across the board literally don't support Benjamin Netanyahu as prime minister, this despite how recent pollings show he has sizable support, and plenty of support for the war against Iran's tyrants. What's telling here is how Busiek doesn't back up his claim, and while he may acknowledge the Islamofascists of Iran are willing to attack civilians, his absurd biases ruin any notion he respects the Israeli public on anything. Also atrocious is how Busiek subtly compares Netanyahu to the Iranian Islamofascists. Shame.

And is that supposed to mean the military commanders don't face any danger, say, from enemy moles and sleeper agents? Oh good grief, this is just so naive. Then there's this and this:

Busiek won't learn lessons either, that wasting so much energy attacking conservatives doesn't improve the situation. And if he's implying Americans and Israelis who allegedly want war should die, that's disturbing as well, and sick. Besides, it's not that any sensible person literally wants war for "fun". They support war against tyrants because there's situations where force is inevitable if that's what it takes to stop barbarism. Busiek also made unverified claims that Israelis literally are guilty of war crimes, and also this item, and this one:

Well if that's what he thinks, but doesn't think the Islamofascists running Afghanistan today aren't guilty of war crimes against the ancient Buddhist inhabitants who originally dwelled there, that's disgraceful too. Ditto if he doesn't think Turkey's guilty of war crimes against Armenia. And Busiek also reposted the following from Tom Peyer:

I guess that means Mr. Peyer's also hostile to Israelis, conservative or otherwise? For shame. Later on, Busiek made a nasty comment about Trump:

And then, what did Busiek say about the US army attack on Kharg island?

If he's no military expert, he has no business commenting, and also had no business writing superhero comics. But who knows, maybe today, he regrets writing superhero tales. It is rather funny he'd write anything starring say, Captain America, considering Kirby/Simon created Steve Rogers as a military cadet who volunteered for the super-soldier serum experiment that made him the formidable fighter he became. But then, that's why, if Busiek really feels that way today, he should no longer be writing superhero themes, plain and simple.

Interestingly, if it matters, Busiek also mentioned the disgraced Gerard Jones, and said the following:

What's that supposed to mean long before? Does that mean people not wanting to benefit monsters is something that only recently came up? Let's be clear. If Jones had been caught in the acts years before and it made headlines in the news, you can be sure there's plenty who'd want nothing to do with him anymore. And must it be pointed out Staton didn't just illustrate comics written by sick Jones? Staton got into comics as far back as the early 1970s, and he'd drawn Green Lantern before, beginning in 1979, for stories written by writers with far better reputations than Jones will ever have at this stage. Staton also has other comics to his credits (including some Batman books), and even a few at Marvel. What, does Busiek have a grudge against Staton or something? That aside, if there's anything Busiek wrote that perhaps we shouldn't benefit, it's his creator-owned comics like Astro City and Arrowsmith, based on how he's indirectly insulting plenty of decent USA military officials who're working hard to bring down the Islamic regime in Iran. Don't their reputations matter? Don't even the reputations of 911 Families matter? Why, what about Betty Mahmoody, who was fortunate to get her daughter out of Iran during the mid 1980s after her creep of a husband taqqiya'd them into traveling there? How don't topics like those ever matter to Busiek?

And since Jones came up, this is very embarrassing, but it appears that since his release from prison nearly 4 years ago, he's been quietly turning up on social media again, and even posting chapters of a book he wrote called "Ginny Good" on a Substack site. Most disgraced writers of his sort would ususally just disappear after all the harm they caused. But Jones appears to be one of those sorts who cannot keep his stupid mouth shut. And if there's at least one example of what political rants he's posting to put on display here, it's the following:

Well. Looks like Jones hasn't changed from the time he first said a decade back he considered Trump a "fascist". And I guess he also considers Trump a communist, seeing how he claims the POTUS wants to be like Vladimir Putin. And all this after Jones was arrested and convicted for illegally hoarding child porn. What, does he think because he's been paroled from prison after 2 thirds of his sentence, it's okay to go right back to such crap again? As though it weren't bad enough he was trying to downplay his criminal offenses when he was still behind bars. All that aside, does he really think anybody wants to read even his text-only books after what he did? Such a repellent disgrace indeed. I wonder how Busiek feels about having written a backup story for Wonder Man in one of the 2 annuals for the 1991-94 series Jones wrote over 3 decades ago? That series was practically worthless as it is.

It's very sad some of the same leftist comics writers of the past decade refuse to stop wasting time on divisive politics, yet quite interesting how, ever since X/Twitter was bought out by a conservative supporter, they decided to jump ship from that service over to one that's more attuned to their leftist beliefs. That, alas, doesn't make the situation any better for the well being of the world.

Hayden Daniel upholds "isolationism", yet calls Mark Levin a "neocon"

Wow, I thought it was bad enough when the Federalist's senior editor, John Daniel Davidson, was opposing wars to defeat evil entities, and practically saying what followers of Islam would want to hear. Now, prior to when Donald Trump approved of US military strikes on Iran's nuclear sites, Hayden Daniel wrote similar blabber, claiming they're nothing more than "forever wars", and even calling Mark Levin a "neocon", which happens to be the description best applied to right-wingers who uphold isolationism. Here's what Daniel says:

Now, Mark Levin, in his zealous crusade to push the United States into directly joining Israel’s strikes against Iran, has invoked the most tired and most misconstrued talking point related to the Second World War: appeasement.

Levin’s screed (it’s far too light on substance to be called an op-ed), titled “Isolationism is the same as appeasement — and it’s keeping Trump, Netanyahu from transforming the Middle East,” does little more than launch ad hominem attacks and provide a masterclass in projection. It’s amazing to read sentences like these: “They’re too self-righteous in their ignorance to realize how absurd they sound. … In fact, they’re so blind and self-important that they don’t see the new foreign policy taking place in real time, right in front of their eyes!” and not even detect even a hint of self-awareness from a man who is advocating for the United States to become stuck in yet another Middle East quagmire.

Remember how all those other times our attempts to “transform” the Muslim world worked out so well?

Afraid that his readers won’t be convinced by merely insulting the intelligence of so-called “isolationists,” Levin tries to morally blackmail any potential skeptics by blowing the appeasement dog whistle as loudly as he can. “There’s nothing new or good about isolationism, which, in a word, is appeasement. It’s old and promotes war, such as World War II,” he writes bluntly.

Or, more specifically, enables barbarism to take hold. It's already happening in Africa, with Christian communities being slaughtered by jihadists, and all the while, Mr. Daniel and his ilk say nothing, and practically erase the existence of the victims of jihadism. Is that also what Daniel and company think following September 11, 2001 to boot?

What Mr. Daniel and company fail to understand is that refusing in any way, shape or form to convince the Islamic world to abandon adherence to the Religion of Peace is the reason for failure in the middle east. Not to mention failure to promote belief systems that emphasize vigilance against evil along with respect for human dignity and demand the inhabitants, especially leader figures, take them up and follow those instead? Unwillingness to firmly make such points is exactly why we still have the crisis of Islam on our hands. Daniel continues:

It seems like whenever very reasonable people object to yet another forever war, neocons crawl out of the woodwork to screech “appeasement!” to try to cow their foreign policy opponents into embarrassed silence. If you don’t agree with the neocons’ next regime-change project, you’re no better than British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, who meekly gave in to Adolf Hitler in 1938 and emboldened Nazi aggression — thereby unleashing all of the devastation that ravaged Europe. If you don’t believe in toppling tinpot dictator No. 12, installing an American puppet state, and sacrificing untold amounts of American blood and treasure, you, specifically, are setting the stage for another World War II, another Holocaust. At least, that’s the implication.

Notice that the columnist totally obscures another issue one could make a more valid case about - that Trump would make any kind of deal with Syria's new autocrat, al-Sharaa. Nobody on the left said anything about that, and the real neocons-in-negative-sense like Mr. Daniel haven't either. If he's a Christian adherent, he's sold out Syria's adherents as well. And then, Mr. Daniel has the shame to smear Levin as a neocon?!? I think Levin denied in subsequent TV broadcasts the whole notion he's a neocon, one more reason why Daniel practically owes an apology to Levin for this blatant attack on his belief that the USA cannot stand idly by while tyranny, nuclear, physical or otherwise, exists in any way. Perhaps the Federalist should be renamed the Defeatist if this is what they're going to embrace now, and even before this, there were some very fishy articles they published that obscured the topic of Islamofascism in France, in example, and even normalized it when talking about LGBT propaganda being shoved down everyone's throats. What good does that do? It will not change the viewpoint of Islamists regarding Jews one bit. Next thing you know, if neo-nazism had institutions in the USA, they'd whitewash such a movement if that's what it took to battle against LGBT ideology, and even communism would abruptly get a pass. The Federalist is really going to the dogs now.

On which note, Elle Purnell may have more restrained, but tragically, she too appears to be siding with the Tucker Carlson crowd, no matter how subtle she tries to be. And she says:

Insofar as Cruz and others who cite the Abrahamic covenant in foreign policy discussions are advocating for general goodwill and moral support toward Israel and against homicidal Iranian clerics, that’s not controversial among Christians. Nor is the fact that America and Israel’s relationship as strong political allies commands a certain level of support from the sidelines.

But it is something else entirely to insist that God’s promise to Abraham in the Old Testament requires the United States government to base its political decisions on the objectives of the 21st-century Israeli nation-state. Taken to extremes, that would mean the United States has an obligation to make foreign policy decisions, no matter how much they may contradict the interests of the United States, based on whether those decisions benefit the nation-state of Israel.

Here's the problem: she doesn't acknowledge that the Religion of Peace is a serious issue that can't be taken lightly or allowed to reign, even today, in countries like Saudi Arabia. Or, she doesn't acknowledge that the most vital reason to battle Iran is because such religiously-influenced barbarism cannot be ignored. It doesn't have to be based on biblical beliefs in order to make a point. Yet Purnell does little better than Daniel in addressing the topic. If you think Cruz's approach is flawed, that's one thing. But ignoring what the Religion of Peace is built upon does nothing to improve the argument, and is exactly why we're at this point in history now.

As it so happens, Melanie Phillips wrote about the troubles with neocons as described in this particular era, and even before, and how they're still a serious problem themselves:

Earlier this week, an out-and-out antisemite was revealed to be holding a senior position in the Pentagon.

In an exclusive story on JNS, Washington correspondent Andrew Bernard revealed that Col. Nathan McCormack, the Levant and Egypt branch chief at the Joint Chiefs of Staff’s J5 planning directorate, had referred publicly to Israel as a “death cult”.

In April, he suggested that the United States “might be Israel’s proxy and not realised it yet”.

In May, he wrote: “Netanyahu and his Judeo-supremacist cronies are determined to prolong the conflict for their own goals: either to remain in power or to annex the land.”

Within hours of the story appearing, McCormack was moved to another position while the Pentagon investigated. Questions may well be asked about how such an individual could be appointed to a senior defence post.

However, the main thrust of his noxious assertions has long been a widespread view in Western establishment circles and has even been legitimised in public debate. This is the belief that the Jews manipulate governments and drag them into foreign wars that serve Jewish interests at the expense of others losing their lives.

This is, of course, a classic blood libel that stretches back into antiquity. Today, it’s found on both the left and right.

“The US must make it clear that we will not be dragged into another Netanyahu war,” said Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), echoed by members of the progressive “Squad” in the US House of Representatives. Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) said: “We cannot let [Israel’s prime minister] drag our country into a war with Iran.”

For his part, McCormack referenced the 2007 book by authors John Mearsheimer and Stephen Walt, The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy, which accused the pro-Israel lobby in America of shaping its foreign policy to support Israel in ways that harmed the United States.

Although the Anti-Defamation League called the book “a classical conspiratorial antisemitic analysis invoking the canards of Jewish power and Jewish control,” the authors continued to be treated with respect in academic circles as “realists”.

The isolationism that gives rise to such views has a long lineage in America. It was in dismaying evidence during the 1930s and 1940s, when Nazism was plunging Europe into darkness.

Most notoriously, the celebrity aviator Charles Lindbergh announced at an America First rally in 1941 that the Jews were “pressing this country toward war” and trying to “force a free and independent people into war against its will”.

So back in WW2, a certain creep was employing the "America First" slogan for bad purposes. By contrast, Trump didn't do that when he argued in favor of putting the USA's internal concerns first. He just meant that security and business matters, along with local workers, are the ones that should matter. Trump's position in no way whatsoever made foreigners in distress out to look like their lives were worthless, in contrast to Lindbergh, who clearly didn't give a damn if Islam was leading to the deaths of innocent people in the middle east either. And lest we forget the National Socialists collaborated with the Religion of Peace decades before too.

Those who were against the US invasion of Iraq tendentiously blamed it on “the neocons”. This was code for “the Jews,” because a number of influential “neocon” analysts who supported the war happened to be Jewish.

The false claim that Israel had taken America to war in Iraq became a common meme on both sides of the Atlantic. In 2004, Thomas Friedman wrote that Ariel Sharon, then Israel’s prime minister, had President George W. Bush “under house arrest in the Oval Office”.

In London, a British colonel told me that “Ariel Sharon has his hand up Bush’s back” — and was astonished when I replied that Israel had told the United States it was Iran, not Iraq, that posed the greatest danger.

Well both Bush and Sharon turned out to be a very bad lot in their own ways, and took actions that got Israel to where it's at now. Let's not forget that. Neither one deserves any genuine awards like statues or institutions named after them, as a result. Neither did anything genuine to prevent Islamofascism from gaining more footholds, and thanks to that, this is exactly why we're now dealing with rocket attacks from Iran. Somehow, I doubt Sharon would give a damn, recalling he began his undeserved career as more of a leftist.

Anyway, the Federalist, much like other sites, has now published a report on the air strike the USAF conducted, and also noted:

Trump has long said Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon and has favored negotiation and peace talks between Iran and Israel. But Iran has been unwilling to engage in a discussion that would lead to dismantling its nuclear weapons program.

The United States is reportedly the only country with so-called bunker-buster bombs large enough to potentially penetrate Iran’s deeply buried nuclear sites and the aircraft capable of delivering those bombs. Bunker-busters were needed to destroy the Fordow nuclear site, which was tunneled deep under a mountain in Iran.

Note that their report appears neutral, which is probably what to expect now that their shoddy opposition to destroying Iran's nuclear labs has been mooted. But it doesn't mean they're reevaluating, and that's sad. Regarding the whole description of neocons, I thought years ago it alluded to possible liberals who became supporters of conservatism. And, it quite possibly did. But now, we have a new problem emerging with defeatists who're hijacking the very slogan for bad purposes, and then the Federalist makes things worse by lecturing us that figures like Levin are neocons?!? Well that just proves how mendacious the actual neocons in this particular case really are. First take a certain slang and sully it, then pretend it's the folks who want to defeat barbarism who're neocons instead. What's the world coming to?

I'll give the Federalist staff credit for once acknowledging in the past that the first leaders of the modern Israeli state were sadly communists who'd acted sadistically towards their conservative rivals. But these latest op-eds make clear the site's writers are deteriorating in terms of objectivity, and from what I've noticed, their comprehension of Islam is very unclear, if at all. That's why I can't support their site anymore on a regular basis, because they're not being sufficient realists.

Members of Congress knew the Iran nuclear deal came with strings attached. They just didn't know how many.

When the administration presented the agreement to Congress, lawmakers were told that new sanctions on Iran would violate the deal. Now the administration is trying to sidestep a recently passed provision to tighten rules on visas for those who have visited Iran.

House staffers who spoke with us say Iran was included for good reason, because it remains on the U.S. list of state of sponsors of terrorism for its open support for Hezbollah and Hamas. The White House did not object until the Iranian government told the administration last week that the bill would violate the nuclear agreement, according to correspondence on these negotiations shared with us.

At issue is a provision that would require travelers who visit certain countries -- including Iran, Sudan, Syria and Iraq -- to apply at a U.S. Embassy for a visa before coming to the U.S., even if they are from a country for which such visas would normally be waived....

Donald Trump and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) are jointly hosting a rally on Capitol Hill on Sept. 9 to protest the nuclear deal with Iran.

The event, being organized by Tea Party Patriots, the Center for Security Policy and the Zionist Organization of America, will be staged on the West Lawn of the Capitol, the groups said in a statement.

Cruz, the keynote speaker, invited Trump to speak, the statement said.

The joint event underscores the strengthening ties between the two Republicans....

(CNN)Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei vowed Saturday that a newly negotiated deal on his country's nuclear program would not alter Iran's policies toward the United States.

In a televised address marking the start of Eid al-Fitr, the festival that follows the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, Khamenei said the agreement signed Tuesday on the nuclear issue would not affect Iran's stance on other regional or bilateral matters.

"Our policies toward the arrogant government of the United States will not be changed at all," he said.

Khamenei said the negotiations with the United States and other world powers on Tehran's nuclear program were an exception because they served Iran's national interest.

Nevertheless, Obama continues his "campaign" to gain support for the deal struck with Iran.

In fact, the White House Weekly Address of July 18, 2015, presents the Liar-in-Chief's "persuasive argument":


Listen to him brag about how nobody but him has ever been able to solve the problem with Iran.

Like everything else that the Traitor-in-Chief engineers since taking office, he'll get his way.  Congress will fold.

Iran: We can now perform NUCLEAR FUSION

Iran has asserted its mastery of a process related to nuclear weapons.

The Iranian Atomic Energy Organization of Iran reported that it has acquired nuclear fusion technology. The state organization said Iran has used lasers to become one of six countries that could operate this fusion technology.

“By the method of inertial confinement lasers, significant research has been successfully conducted in the field of nuclear fusion,” the organization said on Feb. 10.

Nuclear fusion was designed to use the blast of a hydrogen bomb to release energy. France has hosted a 12 billion euro project to channel nuclear fusion as a source of clean energy.

The Iranian statement said the nuclear organization assembled “a machine to make nuclear fusion laser.” No other details were released, including whether Iran conducted a fusion experiment.

“With the manufacture of this machine, Iran becomes the sixth country to master this technology,” the statement said.

So far, only the United States, Japan, France, Australia and South Korea were said to have mastered nuclear fusion technology. China, the European Union, India and Russia were also part of the so-called ITER project to build an experimental nuclear fusion reactor in France. The first large-scale laser target experiments were conducted in June 2009.

In July 2010, Iran announced plans to assemble an experimental nuclear fusion reactor. Officials said the project was launched with a budget of $8 million and could take up to 30 years.

Is it my imagination or is the DoD consistently running a day late and a dollar short on the question of just when Iran will join the Kaboom Klub? According to the latest guestimate, we have nothing to worry about until at least 2015.

U.S. Defense Department report also says Iranians have gone to great lengths to protect its nuclear infrastructure from physical destruction including using buried and hardened facilities.
"With sufficient foreign assistance, Iran could probably develop and test an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) capable of reaching the United States by 2015," says a new 12 page unclassified report prepared by the Department of Defense on the Iran Military Threat.

The report says Iran's military strategy is designed to defend against external or "hard" threats from the United States and Israel. "Iran's nuclear program and its willingness to keep open the possibility to develop nuclear weapons is a central part of its deterrent strategy," according to the report.

The report outlines Iran's nuclear weapons capabilities and developments saying it is "keeping open the option to develop nuclear weapons," which is consistent with what we've heard from a wide range of U.S. officials. It says the Iranians have gone to great lengths to protect its nuclear infrastructure from physical destruction including using buried and hardened facilities.
The final aspects of the report review the regime's efforts to improve ballistic and cruise missile capabilities.

Iran not nuclear weapons capable for "at least a year"-Gates

Do these people have ANY IDEA AT ALL of the level of credibility they carry?

Iran is not expected to be capable of producing nuclear weapons for at least a year, maybe more, U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates said on Tuesday.

Asked about reported comments that Iran might be able to join the nuclear club in months, Gates said: "I don't believe it."

"I think that most estimates that I've seen, haven't changed since the last time we talked about it, which is probably at least a year, and maybe more," Gates told reporters on a flight to South America.

Maybe they think when they make these commitments of words we are just going to say, 'oh, ok' and then pay attention to something else, maybe watch Flashforward and find out what is really going to happen, since the experts who achieve everything are now in charge and telling us all is well.

Iranian official: We're month away from joining 'nuclear club'
Iranian Atomic Energy deputy chief says no country would consider attacking Islamic Republic after it reaches nuclear capabilities

Iranian Atomic Energy deputy chief Behzat Sultani said Tuesday that the Islamic Republic will join the "nuclear club" within one month and added, "No country will consider attacking it after that." He provided no further details. Sultani added that 70% of the Arak nuclear reactor has been completed.

According to a report by the Iranian Fars news agency Sultani made the stataments during a meeting with students at the city of Kashan in central Iran. He boasted by saying, "despite the fact that our enemies thought Iran couldn't enrich uranium to a 20% level – we had no technical problem and it was performed under the agency's inspection."

Sultani stressed that Iran was only planning to use nuclear technology for electricity purposes. "Our next step is to expand the use of nuclear technology for other purposes than energy and fuel, so that food products, proteins and vegetables will sustain for longer periods and in higher quality."

'Different interpretation'
The Iranian Foreign Ministry issued a response to a meeting held between Chinese President Hu Jintao and US President Barak Obama during the NPT conference in Washington. Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said Tehran doesn't "consider the statement as approval of the US stance and unfair actions."

He told reporters on that "our interpretation is different" but didn't elaborate.

Meanwhile, French President Nicolas Sarkozy addressed the possibility of a military conflict with Iran during an interview with CBS.

"I would not want the world to wake up to a conflict between Israel and Iran, quite simply because the international community has been incapable of acting," Sarkozy said, calling a possible Israeli strike against Iran "a disaster".

The French president added, "I consider the fact that Iran should get its hands on a nuclear weapon - a military nuclear weapon, together with the many statements made by Iranian leaders against the democracy that is Israel is dangerous and unacceptable."

...the International Atomic Energy Agency's director general, said Iran's relations with the international community were at a "critical moment" as it was "shifting gear from confrontation to transparency and cooperation."

We have seen this before. The UN confronts Iran, Iran denies, concedes, then agrees. Iran gives an inch, the UN gives them a mile. The world waits.... Then, the cycle begins all over again.

Iran has agreed to allow inspectors to visit the Qom site on October 25th. Somehow, the UN and the White House see's this as a good sign? First of all, everybody who has their eyes open, knows that Qom is not the only site Iran has. It is the only site that Iran got "caught" with. Also, delaying the inspection, has allowed Iran plenty of time to clean it up.

No win.

Iran has pledged to send roughly one bomb’s worth of low-enriched uranium to Russia and France to be refashioned into more highly enriched fuel for use in one of Iran’s small research reactors.
Assuming Iran continues to make nuclear fuel, Tehran could have enough low-enriched uranium by next fall to make a bomb even if it followed through on its promised transfer.

Also, the fuel that France and Russia will send back to Iran will be enriched with 19.75-percent nuclear-weapons-grade uranium — than the 3.5-percent-enriched brew Iran currently has on hand. If Iran were to seize this more enriched fuel, it could make a bomb much more quickly than it could now.

This is new? Not even close. Here's this from March 9, 2009:

Last Sunday, it was chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff Adm. Michael Mullen who announced during an interview on CNN that Iran had enriched sufficient uranium to create a nuclear weapon.

This Sunday, it was OC Military Intelligence Maj.-Gen. Amos Yadlin's turn to jolt the country when he told the cabinet that Iran had crossed the technological threshold, obtained the necessary uranium and mastered the technology needed to manufacture a nuclear device.

And this:

JERUSALEM (AP) — Iran is now capable of producing atomic weapons, Israel's top military intelligence officer said Sunday, sounding the highest-level warning that Israel's arch-enemy has achieved independent nuclear capability.

If anything, the UN is showing it's own complicity with Iran. By suddenly "releasing" this information many months to years after the rest of the world has brought it up, shows just how useless the UN is in stopping Iran.

Obama's "god-like" abilities will not change the outcome. In fact, Obama has made the situation much worse. He has weakened our hand, kept crippling sanctions out of the picture for the foreseeable future and has stopped an Israel attack, for now. All because of misguided hopes that somehow, this time will be different. It won't. And everybody knows it.

Iran is playing the same game with the same rules. And nobody has the guts to call them on it.

Iran is winning.

The coming war with Iran

War with Iran is now inevitable. The only question is: Will it happen sooner or later? Tehran's recent missile tests and war games suggest that the apocalyptic mullahs have reached the same conclusion.

Iran is on the march. Their medium-range Shahab-3 and Sajjil missiles can reach Israel, the entire Middle East and parts of Europe. Tehran is slowing expanding its regional sphere of influence. It has backed insurgency groups in Iraq, which have killed U.S. soldiers. It sponsors Hamas and Hezbollah. It has transformed Syria into a political vassal. It has forged an alliance with Hugo Chavez's Venezuela. It has purchased key air defense systems from Vladimir Putin's Russia.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is a Holocaust-denier and virulent anti-Semite. He is a Persian Nazi strongman who vows to wipe Israel "off the map." He is a revolutionary Shi'ite. He believes the Jews must be extinguished in order to usher the coming of the Shi'ite Messiah, the so-called "Hidden Imam."

For years, the fascist theocracy has invested considerable resources into developing a clandestine nuclear weapons program. Mr. Ahmadinejad insists Tehran only wants atomic energy for "peaceful purposes." Yet, he cannot answer one simple question: Why does a country with the world's second-largest natural gas reserves and third-largest oil supply need domestic nuclear power?

Moreover, Mr. Ahmadinejad is a congenital liar. He repeatedly insists that Iran is a "democracy." Rather, it is a brutal police state based on rigged elections and the torture and murder of dissidents. He claims that Iran has "no homosexuals" and that women are treated "fairly." In fact, the Islamist regime routinely executes gays and subjugates women. He says Iran has "nothing to hide" about its nuclear program. The West, however, recently discovered a hidden, underground facility near the holy city of Qom capable of producing highly enriched uranium for weapons-grade nuclear material.

Since establishment of the Islamic Republic in 1979, Iran has been engaged in an ideological struggle against the West. Its two main enemies have been the United States ("the Great Satan") and Israel ("the Little Satan"). From its inception, Tehran has sought to erect a world Muslim empire; to restore medieval Islamic civilization to its former dominance. The regime is reactionary and - in a twisted manner - even utopian. Nuclear weapons are about more than attaining great-power status. They are the means to achieve the final triumph of messianic Shi'ism.

Iran is on the verge of acquiring the bomb. The mullahs have reached the point of no return. Israel - the country that has to live in that dangerous part of the world - believes the mullahs are six to nine months away from getting it.

Hence, President Obama's policy of diplomatic engagement combined with possible sanctions is doomed to fail. It is ineffective, naive and reckless. Direct talks, like those conducted in Geneva on Thursday, only give Iran more time. Mr. Obama is simply providing the mullahs with the cover they need to finish completing their nuclear arsenal.

A devastating strike would likely trigger a fierce Iranian response, including waves of suicide bombers targeting Israeli civilians and U.S. troops in Iraq. Iranian missiles would pound Israeli and, maybe, European cities. Vital shipping lanes in the Persian Gulf would be disrupted, driving the price of oil to more than $300 a barrel - plunging the West into a possible depression. Hezbollah sleeper cells might be activated within the United States, unleashing deadly atrocities on American soil.

Yet, allowing a nuclear-armed Iran is likely to lead to an even worse regional war. Once the ruling clerics get their hands on nukes, a military showdown with Israel is inevitable. They will seek to destroy the Jewish state once and for all. Jerusalem will not stand by and commit existential suicide. It will retaliate. The result would be a nuclear holocaust in the Middle East.

The winds of war are blowing across the Persian Gulf. Following this summer's crackdown on pro-democracy protesters, the Iranian regime is weak, desperate and fracturing. Washington should vigorously pursue a policy of internal regime change; otherwise, Tehran will drag the Middle East into a certain conflagration that could lead to the slaughter of millions.

Instead, Mr. Obama has ruled out "meddling in Iran's internal affairs." His peace-at-any-cost diplomacy guarantees military conflict. It is no longer a question of if this will happen, but when and on whose terms. Mr. Obama is sleepwalking into disaster. America and the Middle East will pay the price.

For those of you, who still have their heads in the sand, you might as well keep them there. At least it will offer some protection, while the rest of us build our bomb shelters.

Because we know, deep down inside, the inevitable is coming.

Iran tested two short-range missiles Sunday as its elite Revolutionary Guards began several days of war games, state television reported. Press TV reported that the missiles tested were the Fateh-110 and Tondar-69, but did not give specifics on the range or other details. The report said the tests also included a multiple missile launcher.

"Iran tests two short-range missiles," Press TV said in a scrolling headline. Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps announced Saturday it would begin war games which would include surface-to-surface missile launches.

Reuters reported state radio as also saying Sunday that Tehran would test-fire a missile Monday capable of hitting Israel and U.S. bases in the Gulf region. The missile maneuvers coincide with tension over Iran's nuclear program following the disclosure of a second uranium-enrichment plant in the country.

The U.S. and its five partners trying to stop Iran's suspected nuclear weapons program plan to tell Tehran in a key meeting on Thursday that it must provide "unfettered access" to its previously secret Qom enrichment facility within weeks, an official said.

The six countries will demand that Iran prove to the increasingly skeptical group that its intentions with its various sites are peaceful and energy-related, as Iran claims, and not for weapons development, as the West believes, the official said Saturday.

Reuters reported Iran's ambassador to the U.N.'s nuclear agency watchdog, Ali Asghar Soltanieh, as saying Sunday that "fabricated Western clamor" over the facility would negatively affect its talks with world powers.

Iran's nuclear chief had said Saturday his country will allow the U.N. nuclear agency to inspect its newly revealed facility.

An aide to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was also quoted as saying that the facility will soon become operational.

"This new plant, God willing, will soon become operational and will make the enemies blind," Mohammad Mohammadi-Golpayegani, who heads Khamenei's office, said, according to the semi-official Fars News Agency.

Head of Iran's Nuclear Agency, Mousavi Backer, Resigned in June

TEHRAN, Iran — The head of Iran's nuclear agency has resigned, an Iranian news agency reported Thursday, a move that may have been connected to the country's postelection turmoil.

Gholam Reza Aghazadeh gave no reason for his resignation, according the semi-official ISNA news agency. But Aghazadeh has long been close to opposition leader Mir Hossein Mousavi, who claims to be the victor in June 12 presidential elections and says the government of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is illegitimate.

Aghazadeh is quoted as telling ISNA that he submitted his resignation from Iran's Atomic Energy Organization 20 days ago to Ahmadinejad, who accepted it. In the ISNA report Thursday, Aghazadeh says he also resigned from his other post, as one of Ahmadinejad's vice presidents.

Aghazadeh and other nuclear officials could not immediately be reached for comment. ISNA is a semi-official news agency, but Iranian officials use it occasionally to leak sensitive information.

In his post, which he held for 12 years, Aghazadeh has pushed steadily ahead with Iran's nuclear program, which the West fears is aimed at developing a nuclear weapon. Iran denies that charge, saying it wants only to generate electricity, and it rejects U.N. demands it halt uranium enrichment.

Aghazadeh in the past year has announced several times Iran's advances in manufacturing centrifuges, a key component of the enrichment program. According to the U.N. nuclear watchdog, Iran has nearly 5,000 centrifuges currently enriching uranium and another 2,000 others ready to start enriching.

AP notes that Aghazadeh was not included in Iran's negotiations with the West over the nuclear program and that "ultimately all decisions on nuclear policy lie with supreme leader Ayatollah Khamenei."

And, it would appear, one more piece of deadwood has been cleared off the deck.

Washington Times: Obama Wrote to Iran's Khamenei Before Election

The Washington Times is reporting that prior to this month's elections in Iran, Obama wrote to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Prior to this month's disputed presidential election in Iran, the Obama administration sent a letter to the country's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, calling for an improvement in relations, according to interviews and the leader himself.

Ayatollah Khamenei confirmed the letter toward the end of a lengthy sermon last week, in which he accused the United States of fomenting protests in his country in the aftermath of the disputed June 12 presidential election.

U.S. officials declined to discuss the letter on Tuesday, a day in which President Obama gave his strongest condemnation yet of the Iranian crackdown against protesters.

An Iranian with knowledge of the overture, however, told The Washington Times that the letter was sent between May 4 and May 10 and laid out the prospect of "cooperation in regional and bilateral relations" and a resolution of the dispute over Iran's nuclear program.

The Iranian, who asked not to be named because of the sensitivity of the topic, said the letter was given to the Iranian Foreign Ministry by a representative of the Swiss Embassy, which represents U.S. interests in Iran in the absence of U.S.-Iran diplomatic relations. The letter was then delivered to the office of Ayatollah Khamenei, he said.

The letter was sent before the election, whose outcome - delivering a supposed landslide to incumbent President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad - has touched off the biggest anti-government protests in Iran since the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

The Obama administration, while criticizing a violent crackdown on demonstrators by Iranian security forces, has said that it will continue efforts to engage the Iranian government about its nuclear program and other issues touching on U.S. national security...


In a lengthy sermon Friday that reaffirmed the disputed re-election of Mr. Ahmadinejad, Ayatollah Khamenei made an oblique reference to a letter from the U.S. but embedded the reference in a diatribe against purported U.S. interference in Iranian affairs.

"The American president was quoted as saying that he expected the people of Iran to take to the streets," Ayatollah Khamenei misquoted Mr. Obama as saying, according to a translation by Mideastwire.com.

"On the one hand, they [the Obama administration] write a letter to us to express their respect for the Islamic Republic and for re-establishment of ties, and on the other hand they make these remarks. Which one of these remarks are we supposed to believe? Inside the country, their agents were activated. Vandalism started. Sabotaging and setting fires on the streets started. Some shops were looted. They wanted to create chaos. Public security was violated. The violators are not the public or the supporters of the candidates. They are the ill-wishers, mercenaries and agents of the Western intelligence services and the Zionists."

No wonder getting Obambi to denounce the attacks on protestors was like pulling teeth. Assuming revolution does not happen and the election stands, will he follow up on the contacts proposed in that letter anyway? And what position will Khamenei, Ahmadinejad and the rest be able to assume in those circumstances? If K&A planned for this rigged election to act as the starting bell for the all-out race to nuclear capability, did the track just get faster or sloppier?
