Tim Kaine's Comments About Islamic Treatment Of Women

Well, more specifically, about women in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Rwanda as compared to women in the United States:
Vice presidential candidate Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., said Tuesday [August 17, 2016] that the United States has made it difficult for women to be elected to higher office, and argued that America ranks behind Iraq, Afghanistan and Rwanda in this area.

"It took 144 years before women even got the right to vote in this country," Kaine said at a campaign rally in Fayetteville, N.C. "What were we thinking when we said equality mattered, but no. One hundred and forty four years. It took us that long to say in 1920, to say women get a right to vote. And now we're 96 years later and we have just nominated a woman. We know we haven't had a woman president....

Bring 'Em Home! - BUMPED TO THE TOP FOR NOW

Spew alert!

Keely Mullen attends Northeastern University.

Forget college! Trying to get something into this young lady's head is an exercise in futility!

PASTORIUS CUTTING IN:

Here's an article which details some of the numbers that are being thrown around in this conversation between Cavuto and the young lady:

Eighty people hold the same amount of wealth as the world’s 3.6 billion poorest people, according to an analysis just released from Oxfam.
The report from the global anti-poverty organization finds that since 2009, the wealth of those 80 richest has doubled in nominal terms — while the wealth of the poorest 50 percent of the world’s population has fallen.
To see how much wealth the richest 1 percent and the poorest 50 percent hold, Oxfam used research from Credit Suisse, a Swiss financial services company, and Forbes’s annual billionaires list.
Oxfam then looked at how many of the world’s richest people would need to pool their resources to have as much wealth as the poorest 50 percent — and as of March 2014, it was just 80 people.
Four years earlier, 388 billionaires together held as much wealth as the poorest 50 percent of the world.
Thirty-five of the 80 richest people in the world are U.S. citizens, with combined wealth of $941 billion in 2014.
Together in second place are Germany and Russia, with seven mega-rich individuals apiece.

Mona Eltahawy Touts Her Twat

No, I'm not kidding.

See THIS at Jihad Watch.

I left the following comment at the above thread:

YE, GODS!

So, I stop by Jihad Watch to wish Mr. Spencer a Merry Christmas -- and find that Mona Eltahawy has become even more unhinged.

Is she smokin' somethin'?

Because, if she's not, she needs to be confined. IMO

Isn't she an award-winning journalist? Wikipedia lists the following:

Special Prize for Outstanding Contribution to Journalism, Anna Lindh Foundation, 2010

Samir Kassir Award for Freedom of the Press, for opinion writing by the European Commission (2009)

Cutting Edge Prize, for distinguished contribution to the coverage of the Middle East by Next Century Foundation. (2006)

Distinguished Visiting Professor at the American University in Cairo (2006)

What to say to her poem?

Mr. Spencer had a great response:
I don't know who the unfortunate "you" is in the third line, but it most assuredly ain't me, babe.

More Devolving

Into what, I'm not exactly sure.

From this article (hat tip to Chuck Thinks Right):
Oregon Principal Claims That Peanut Butter And Jelly Sandwiches Might Be Racist

Portland, OR – Elementary school principal Verenice Gutierrez suggested that peanut butter and jelly sandwiches might be racist and culturally offensive during an interview with the Portland Tribune....We now live in a world that is so politically correct, that what we eat for lunch might offend others dining at the same table. The Harvey Scott K-8 administrator was discussing the district’s equity training program which was created to lessen the achievement gap, when comparing the popular lunchbox staple to potential racism.

The Oregon principal “picks up on the subtle language of racism” every day, and used the seemingly innocent looking peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to illustrate her point, according to Fox News.

Verenice Gutierrez had this to say about the allegedly offensive bread spread:

“Another way would be to say, Americans eat peanut butter and jelly, do you have anything like that. Let them tell you. Maybe they eat torta or pita. What about Somali or Hispanic students, who might not eat sandwiches?”

The district’s equity program is entitled, “Courageous Conversation” and it is designed to take educators on a journey through an intense course so they can understand their own white privilege...
The entire article is HERE.

Chuck's rant on the topic is HERE.

I know for a FACT that similar idiocy also goes on in the Fairfax County Public Schools here in Northern Virginia.

Every grading quarter, teachers are hauled in for in-service days that are loaded with crap such as Gutierrez spouts in the excerpt above, and principals are FORCED to make sure that they submit paperwork showing how culturally diverse and culturally sensitive every single activity is.

One of my best friends serves as principal at one of the elementary schools, and she and I had occasion to have a long conversation yesterday.  The 2012-2013 school term will be her last year, and she can't wait to get the hell out because she's been fighting an uphill battle for over seven years with the political correctness idiocy emanating from the top on down.

It's a wonder that any learning at all is taking place!

And my friend entered the public education profession with such high hopes.  Her hopes were completely dashed about three years ago.  That timing involving the past three years
–  just a coincidence, of course.  NOT!

The Entitlement Mentality

Listen to this erudite "majorette" in drama (hat tip to TOTUS).

Spew alert!

She actually said this:
"They don't have a lot of cuts and stuff for everybody."
"Cuts"? As in "I want my share of the loot"?

Gag!

The following email soliciting funds for the Obama campaign sounds like a googoo-eyed teeny bopper's fan letter (hat tip to Weasel Zippers):
My name is Wendi, and about a month ago, I had dinner with President Obama.

It was one of the most significant experiences of my life.

It all happened because I responded to a “Dinner with Barack” email in my inbox. I was planning on making a donation anyway, so I thought I might as well do it now.

When I got the call, I couldn’t believe it — and when I flew out to D.C. for the dinner, I really couldn’t believe it. I’m just one of more than a million grassroots supporters of this campaign. But a few hours later there I was.

I never imagined that I would sit down for a conversation, let alone a meal, with the President of the United States.

If you’ve thought about entering but haven’t taken the chance yet, I urge you to do so now. You never know what might happen.

And I hear the First Lady is going to be there for this one, too. . . very cool.

Donate $3 or whatever you can today to be automatically entered to win dinner with Barack and Michelle.

I’ve supported Barack Obama for a long time, and in 2008, I phone banked and canvassed for him near my hometown of Corydon, Indiana.

To be able to talk to him in person, to connect with him across the dinner table, was very special.

I told him about my son and his college loans, my work as an artist, and asked him about public education — I could tell that he was genuinely listening to each of us, even though I’m sure he had a lot going on that day, and his own family back at the White House.

When I got back home, I told my husband and friends that the President was exactly the man we all thought he was: modest, genuine, engaged, and very caring.

It’s a memory I will cherish for the rest of my life. I’m so glad I decided to enter....
Is this what passes for an intelligent voter? Sheesh.

Jay Carney Is An Idiot

And the White House Press Corps knows it:

The press corps also knows that Obama is campaigning for re-election, not for "growth and jobs."

Harry's Hysteria

From Human Events:
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid threatened to shut down the nation’s schools via Twitter on Thursday, if his Party’s demands for higher taxes are not met:

Today's Obamoxymoron

JOBLESS RECOVERY

Falling flat
Feb 5th 2010 | WASHINGTON, DC
From Economist.com

More evidence that America is experiencing a jobless recovery

A WEEK ago, Americans were told that their economy had expanded for a second consecutive quarter, and rapidly at that: output grew at an annual rate of 5.7%. This week, they are reminded that a return to growth has yet to benefit the jobless. The economy lost 20,000 jobs in January, a decline driven by the loss of 75,000 jobs in the construction sector. Economists had forecast an increase in employment of around 15,000. The unemployment rate, based on household rather than establishment data, showed a slight improvement, dropping from 10% to 9.7%, but nearly 15m Americans remain unemployed. As Larry Summers put it in Davos last week, the American economy is experiencing "a statistical recovery and a human recession".

Maybe If We Just Play Dead, The Muslims Will Leave Us Alone

UK: Church of England Bishop Says Taliban "Should Be Admired for Their Conviction to Islam and Sense of Loyalty"...

UPDATE: Apparently, this Bishop is an endless fount of idiocy. Read on below.

Taliban-sword-11052007

From Weasel Zippers:

The Taliban can be admired for their conviction to their faith and their sense of loyalty to one another, the new bishop for the Armed Forces has claimed.

The Rt Rev Stephen Venner called for a more sympathetic approach to the Islamic fundamentalists that recognises their humanity.

The Church of England’s Bishop to the Forces warned that it will be harder to reach a peaceful solution to the war if the Afghan insurgents are portrayed too negatively.

“We’ve been too simplistic in our attitude towards the Taliban,” said Bishop Venner, who was recently commissioned in his new role by Dr Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Canterbury.

There’s a large number of things that the Taliban say and stand for which none of us in the west could approve, but simply to say therefore that everything they do is bad is not helping the situation because it’s not honest really.

“The Taliban can perhaps be admired for their conviction to their faith and their sense of loyalty to each other.”

Besides their attacks on the armed forces, the Taliban have also been responsible for public beatings, amputations and executions and have launched bomb attacks on the civilian population in Afghanistan.

Minister at PSC supporting church: Jesus would embrace Sharia or something....

So Simon Perry (known to some as a reverend) of Bloombsury Baptist Church, which last week hosted a carol service to raise money for the PSC has found himself in a bit of hot water this week. Jonathan Sacerdoti addressed Perry in a response posted over at Harry's Place after he defended his church's role in the event. It is here that one of the commenters directed me to Perry's own blog, where he wrote a truly telling (not to be confused with truth telling) post about Sharia in Britain.

Excerpt:
Sharia law is often characterised as medieval and crude, particularly as it relates to marriage for instance. But anyone who has tasted the workings of the British Divorce industry can hardly see it is a sophisticated and fair system! (Listen to the Fathers for Justice organisation!) Social evils from gun crime to housing shortages find their roots in the family breakdown that the divorce industry in Britain promotes. And we fear Sharia law!
The Evangelical leaders and the imbecilic dictators of Right wing press stand together in playing out the role of the Pharisee. Condemning others for the sake of the precious values and customs that they themselves have come to treasure.

If those evil Evangelicals and right-wing loonies would only embrace Sharia, Britain would be so much better off.
