Al Qaida offshoot Nusra Front said using U.S. anti-tank missilesNICOSIA — Al Qaida is reportedly employing U.S. anti-tank missiles in operations in Syria.
The Syrian opposition has asserted that Al Qaida’s Nusra Front for the Defense of Levant was firing U.S. missiles. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said Nusra acquired the TOW missile, provided to U.S.-backed rebel groups in 2013.
"They used U.S.-made TOW anti-tank missiles to destroy several military vehicles," Syrian Observatory said.
In a statement on Dec. 14, Syrian Observatory said Nusra fighters used TOW missiles in its attack on Syrian Army camps in the northwestern province of Idlib. The British-based opposition monitor said at least 15 soldiers were killed.
Syrian Observatory did not say how Nusra acquired the TOW. But opposition sources said Nusra seized a huge amount of U.S. weapons and equipment in its campaign against the U.S.-backed Free Syrian Army in November 2014.
Nusra was also believed to have seized Russian-origin missiles from Syrian Army facilities. They were said to have included the AT-13, a wire-guided missile with a range of up to two kilometers.

ISIL tied to bombing of French Cultural Center in Gaza CityGAZA CITY — Islamic State of Iraq and Levant was said to have resumed attacks in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip.
ISIL has been blamed for another bombing of the French Cultural Center in Gaza City. On late Dec. 12, the center was struck by the second bombing in nearly as many months amid the ISIL war in Iraq and Syria. A Palestinian was said to have been injured.
"It seems as if there are elements who want to disturb Gaza’s security and are targeting foreigners to intimidate them and give a bad image of Gaza," Gaza police spokesman Ayman Betjeni said.
[On late Dec. 14, the Palestinian leadership, in wake of previous reports of a suspension, decided to continue Palestinian Authority security cooperation with Israel. At the same time, the leadership said it would maintain “resistance activities” against Israel.]
Palestinian sources said ISIL has established a sleeper and operational presence in the Gaza Strip. They said the latest bombing, which damaged a wall in the French compound, reflected a campaign against members of the U.S.-led war against ISIL.
Hamas has not acknowledged the ISIL presence. The ruling movement condemned the attack on the French center.
"The side responsible for such a criminal action does not belong to Palestinians as culture is a major part of the Palestinian identity," the Palestinian Foreign Affairs Ministry said on Dec. 13.

Pentagon picks Italy, Turkey for F-35 heavy maintenance hubs in Europe
The US Department of Defense has assigned maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) responsibilities for the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter airframe and engine in Europe to Italy and Turkey, US officials said on 11 December.
- Italy will conduct heavy maintenance on F-35 airframes, while F135 engine heavy maintenance will be provided by Turkey
- Both facilities are expected to be operational by 2018
"These initial assignments will support near-term engine and airframe F-35 overseas operations and maintenance and will be reviewed and updated in approximately five years," said Lieutenant General Chris Bogdan, the Pentagon’s F-35 programme manager. Regional considerations such as forward basing, aircraft phasing, and transportation contributed to initial assignment decisions, he said during a press briefing.
F-35 initial airframe MRO capability will be provided by Italy by 2018, Lt Gen Bogdan said. Should additional airframe MRO capability be required, the United Kingdom would be assigned to supplement Italy’s work.
Engine heavy maintenance for the Pratt & Whitney (P&W) F135, meanwhile, will initially be provided by Turkey, with Norway and the Netherlands providing additional capability approximately two to three years after Turkey’s depot becomes operational in 2018. The general explained that engine test cells needed at such facilities cost “tens of millions of dollars” to build and that no single F-35 operator in Europe was prepared to bankroll a large enough facility to handle the work.

Muslims Attack German Church on Christmas Eve
On Christmas Eve Muslims attacked Christians attending a Catholic Christmas celebration in the German city of Mönchengladbach-Rheydt. The five Muslims forced their way into the St. Mary’s Church shouting, “F*cking Christians.”
Muslim children and a teenager disturbed the nativity celebrations for children in the Rheydter St. Mary’s Church.
The Muslims screamed, Sh*t Christians!” and, “F*cking Christians!” during the Christmas Eve mass.
The sexton held two of the five Muslims before police arrived. Police identified the troublemakers and turned them over to their parents.
Police would not say whether it was a deliberate action to disrupt worship on Christmas Eve or a thoughtless prank children in the incident.

Christians were reportedly being held captive in make-shift torture chambers set up in raided churches in Qaraqosh, Iraq.
An expert told the Jerusalem Post that the terror organisation's goal was to 'wipe out Christianity.'
'This is why they are crucifying Christians — which includes children — destroying churches and selling artifacts,' he told the newspaper.
'The reality is, this group will stop at practically nothing to raise funds for its terrorist mission.'
Jihadists have pocketed around £23million from the sale of stolen artefacts in Nabaq, Syria, according to the Christian Post.
It was not known what relics had been stolen during the raid on churches. The news comes as it has been revealed that militants captured a Jordanian pilot after his warplane crashed while conducting airstrikes over Syria
Obama Admin Spends Christmas Trying To Get Islamist Groups Off Terror List

The Obama administration spent Christmas week trying to get two Islamist organizations off a foreign country’s terror list.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations and the Muslim American Society are both listed as Islamist organizations by the Islamist Money In Politics database, which tracks copious political spending by figures linked to the groups.
The Muslim American Society was founded as an American-based Muslim Brotherhood front group. CAIR and MAS representatives met with “senior U.S. government officials” just days before Christmas to discuss the groups’ inclusion on the United Arab Emirates’ official list of terrorist organizations.
“The two American Muslim organizations and the U.S. government pledged to work together to achieve a positive solution to the UAE designations,” the groups said in a joint statement.
The Obama administration’s State Department recently “affirmed that department officials meet regularly with representatives of CAIR and MAS,” according to the groups.

Just a coincidence ..IRS levies Christine O’Donnell’s bank acct 2x and admits ‘error’, keeps $?
Adding to the long-running saga of IRS dealings with conservatives, former Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell says the tax agency punished her mistakenly for the second time in five years by imposing an erroneous levy on her bank accounts.
Ms. O’Donnell told The Washington Times that she discovered the levy when she couldn’t access her checking account as she was preparing to visit relatives over Thanksgiving.
“The day before I was heading out of town for the Thanksgiving weekend, my bank told me the IRS had frozen my accounts. They didn’t give me a reason why, just a phone number to call,” Ms. O’Donnell said in an interview this week.
She said she called the Internal Revenue Service and was told the agency had concluded she owed $30,000 in taxes from a 2008 house transaction, which was long ago accounted for on her federal returns. She said she implored the agency to check her tax records and eventually was told the levy was generated in error and her accounts would be freed up.
Although IRS officials removed the levy, they first withdrew all the funds from her account. They said that, too, was in error and the funds would be returned to her. The funds have not been replaced, Ms. O’Donnell said.
“They said it was a mistake, and they removed the levy. I’m grateful, but I also wonder what someone with less government experience might do when they find themselves frozen from their money because the IRS got its paperwork mixed up. It can be scary. You feel helpless if you can’t even buy gas for your car,” she said.
Asked where she thought her latest IRS run-in fit into the bigger controversy over the agency’s dealings with conservatives, she answered cautiously.
“While I don’t believe in coincidences, it’s possible that this was just bureaucratic bungling. But either way, the IRS has to be held accountable. It needs to do its job right and not target or inconvenience taxpayers unfairly,” she said.
IRS officials said federal tax privacy laws prohibit them from commenting on individual taxpayer matters.

How To Do Da Butt Bomb: Al Qaeda Magazine Teaches Jihadists How To Shove Explosives Up Their Asses

Al Qaeda claims to have come up with the perfect recipe for a deadly bomb, it’s just too embarrassed to tell its legions of devoted followers where they are supposed to place it: inside their rectal cavity. It’s a modern dilemma for a would-be retro-caliphate.
Five years after the so-called “underwear bomber” tried to blow up a plane by hiding explosives in his underpants, Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, or AQAP as it’s known, is taking another look at bombs hidden in places of an intimate nature, or what the terrorist group modestly calls the “hidden bomb.”
A twenty-two page spread in the latest issue of AQAP’s flagship Inspire magazine gives step-by-step instructions on how to build a bomb designed to be hidden inside or near the rectal cavity — except the writer balks at talking about the last, most critical (and intimate) step: where to actually put the bomb.
Instead, the magazine merely alludes to placing “the bomb where the [airport] employee do [sic] not reach and have no right to touch or pat, like ‘Umar Farouq did.”
Umar Farouq Abdulmutallab, a Nigerian national who had joined AQAP while studying in Yemen, tried unsuccessfully to blow up a U.S.-bound airline on Christmas Day 2009. Abdumutallab had hidden in his underwear chemical explosives, which he planned to detonate using a syringe.
His plan was foiled, a top TSA official later revealed, because the bomber had not changed his underwear for two weeks, thus degrading the explosives. (Inspire reassures followers that even if they fail like the original underwear bomber they will still have succeeded.)
Except this time around, however, the Inspire article obliquely references the need to go where Abdulmutallab was perhaps unwilling to go, and place the bomb directly inside the terrorist’s body.
The magazine cites the example of Abdullah al-Asiri, an AQAP member who died in 2009 trying to kill a senior Saudi government official; al-Asiri reportedly hid the bomb in his rectal cavity.
While avoiding the practicalities of placing a bomb inside one’s posterior, the magazine does offer some helpful advice to the would-be lone Mujahid butt bomber once seated in the plane: “Relax, do not become tense.”

KANO, Nigeria – A 13-year-old says her father gave her to Boko Haram extremists and that she was arrested after refusing to explode a suicide bomb in Kano, Nigeria's second largest city in the north.
Nigeria has suffered numerous suicide bombings in recent months carried out by girls and young women.
That has raised fears that the insurgents are using kidnapped girls. The girl told a news conference Wednesday night that she saw many people being buried alive at the Boko Haram camp where her father took her in Bauchi state, east of Kano.
She said her captors asked if she wanted to go to paradise and, when she said yes, explained she would have to be a suicide bomber.
"When I was told I would have to die to enter paradise, that I would have to explode a bomb and die, I said I cannot do it," she said.
