Defense officials confirmed that the Islamic State has been pumping reinforcements into Mosul during the battle that was launched in mid-October, but said the maintained level of militants there doesn't indicate a stalemate....

Trying to preserve Obama's "foreign policy legacy," which declared that the war in Iraq is over. Clearly, it is not.

Various members of the Obama Administration and their fellow Dems are carrying Obama's water with regard to other issues as well.

A footnote in the article states that ISIS won't be using the term "lone wolf," but "just terror operations" -- "just" as an adjective for "justice." Al-Qaeda calls lone operations "open-source jihad." 

Hinting that the article is one in a forthcoming series about terror tactics, ISIS focused on the benefits of knives to help potential terrorists with the "ocean of thoughts" that "might pour into one’s mind" when considering an attack. 

"Many people are often squeamish of the thought of plunging a sharp object into another person’s flesh. It is a discomfort caused by the untamed, inherent dislike for pain and death, especially after 'modernization' distanced males from partaking in the slaughtering of livestock for food and the striking of the enemy in war," the unbylined article states. 

"However, any such squirms and discomforts are never an excuse for abandoning jihad." ISIS suggested a "campaign of knife attacks" in which the attacker "could dispose of his weapon after each use, finding no difficulty in acquiring another one." 

Knife-wielding terrorists are advised to target smaller crowds or someone walking home from a night out or working the night shift, "or someone walking alone in a public park or rural forested area, or someone by himself in an alley close to a night club or another place of debauchery, or even someone out for a walk in a quiet neighborhood. One should consider canals, riversides, and beaches." 

They further advise jihadists to carry an object like a baseball bat to inflict blunt-force trauma on victims before stabbing. In gory detail, jihadists are encouraged to go for major organs, arteries or the neck, but not the skull as their knife blade may break. 

"It is advised to not necessarily attempt to fully detach the head, as the absence of technique can cause a person to spend a long time attempting to do so, that is, unless the individual’s circumstances and capabilities allow for such." 

"Lest the operation be mistaken for one of the many random acts of violence that plague the West, it is essential to leave some kind of evidence or insignia identifying the motive and allegiance to the Khalifah, even if it is something as simple as a note pinned or attached to the victim’s body," the terror guide adds.

UPDATED - Priest Slaughtered Inside Church In Normandy, France

This morning, we have reports that an octogenarian priest was murdered inside a church in Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray in Normandy. Two attackers wielding knives took five hostages, including the priest. The attackers have been killed by the police.

Some reports state that the priest was beheaded; other reports state that the priest's throat was cut.

We were told that Western powers-that-be preferred the derogatory term 'Daesh' as it removed any clear indication of Islam being related to terror and the group otherwise known as IS/ISIS/ISIL. 'Daesh' allegedly is a term IS/ISIL/ISIS hates because it is an acronym for an Arabic phrase ‎

Islamic State has sanctioned the harvesting of human organs in a previously undisclosed ruling by the group’s Islamic scholars, raising concerns that the violent extremist group may be trafficking in body parts.

The ruling, contained in a January 31, 2015 document reviewed by Reuters, says taking organs from a living captive to save a Muslim's life, even if it is fatal for the captive, is permissible....

PARIS, Dec 14 (Reuters) - A hooded man claiming to be acting for Islamic State attacked a nursery school teacher with a knife-like weapon as he prepared for classes in a school north of Paris, French officials said on Monday.

The male teacher was taken to hospital after the attack by a man wielding a knife or box-cutter who fled the scene after the attack at about 0630 GMT, said the official, adding that anti-terrorism officials were investigating.

ISIS extremists began celebrating the mass shooting in San Bernardino hours after the massacre, creating the hashtag #America_Burning as police hunted for as many as three shooters, Vocativ discovered. The Islamic State, however, did not take credit for the shootings in the ghoulish postings.
Vocativ deep web analysts discovered the ISIS posts on web forums where the extremists frequently share information. 
“Three lions made us proud. They are still alive,” one ISIS adherent tweeted in Arabic after the shootings at Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino. “California streets are full with soldiers with heavy weapons. The Unites States is burning #America_Burning #Takbir”

 

 “God is great and he the one to be praised for that,” another supporter posted in the forum in Arabic. “This is hell with god’s will.” But the hashtag was primarily used on Twitter where one ISIS extremist taunted the United States with a tweet that read “Let America know a new era #California #America_burning.” 

 

Another ISIS supporter posted in reference to the shooting on Twitter, “God is the greatest. May god spread fear in the homes of the Crusaders.” 

 

 

Obama's Approach To Defeating ISIS

Obama is living up to his Islamic middle name: Hussein.

According to a November 27 article in the Telegraph, Barack Obama plan to defeat Isil dismissed by US intelligence experts: Former and serving diplomats and intelligence officials tell the Telegraph that President Obama's hopes of defeating Islamic State are based on "smoke and mirrors" and the intelligence community is totally broken, particularly with regard to a strategy for defeating the Islamic State.

Think about the progression over the course of less than two weeks.

On November 12, Barack Hussein Obama tells George Stephanopoulos that ISIS is definitely "contained" and, in essence, not an existential threat because the Moslem savages are not gaining strength.

Then on November 13 come the Paris jihad slaughters.

Next, on November 21, Brussels, the headquarters of NATO and the seat of the European Union, goes on lockdown for several days.

On November 25, Barack Hussein Obama addresses the American people to tell us "the combined resources of our military, our intelligence, and our homeland security agencies are on the case" and "be vigilant."

Our intelligence agencies are "on the case"? Really? Remember this from the linked article:

“Where is the intelligence community? It is totally broken on this.”

The evidence is piling up that there is more going on than incompetence, misfeasance and delusion

The problem may indeed lie in senior leader decision-making and risk assessment. Ultimately, though, the buck stops at the desk of the Oval Office.

'Pitiless' or 'Pitiful'?

TWO NEWS ITEMS:

The President of France had vowed a "pitiless response" to the terrorist attack by radical Islam in Paris.

One of the terrorists was on the French terrorist 'watch list'.

If France doesn't AT LEAST do this then the President's response will be more pitiful than pitiless.

If those on the watch list are not citizens - deport them immediately.

If they are citizens - arrest them.

France claims they are at WAR. This is what you do with 5th columnists during a war.

Remotely Detonated?

One thing has puzzled me ever since Russian Airbus A321 fell from the sky....

How could ISIS have timed the explosion and spiraling of the Russian jetliner (if, indeed, the video below is authentic)?



Could an explosive device have been remotely detonated by someone who brought aboard a carry-on bag? 

After all, remote detonation by someone aboard would have ensured that an unforeseen flight delay would not have interfered with ISIS's making of the propaganda film, which must have required that the videocam was in place.

The passenger detonating the device in the cargo hold would have been following the flight path on one of those screens showing the exact flight path of the airplane in real time.

Another reason that I've been thinking along these lines: the recent uptick in screening measures of both passengers and carry-on bags.

The Islamic State group affiliate in Egypt has claimed it downed the aircraft, but has not said how it might have done so. 

Cairo and Moscow, however, have denied any possible terrorism link in the incident, one of the deadliest Airbus crashes in the past decade. 

This evening, the prime minister's office said: 'The black box was recovered from the tail of the plane and has been sent to be analysed by experts.' 

It added that more than 45 ambulances have been dispatched to the crash site, with rescuers having recovered 129 victims' bodies so far. 

The jet, which was leased by a Russian airline and carrying package holiday passengers back to St Peterburg in northern Russia, plummeted to the ground less than 25 minutes after it took off from the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheik. 

It crashed in the Hassana area, south of Arish, officials said. 

Security forces discovered the plane wreckage in a remote mountainous area in a region containing many ISIS-affiliated terrorists. 

Ismail told reporters experts will 'start examining the information in the plane's black box, and based on this we will study the causes of the crash'. 

He also expressed scepticism about ISIS's claim that it carried out the attack in response to Russian strikes in Syria. 

The ISIS statement read: 'The soldiers of the caliphate succeeded in bringing down a Russian plane in Sinai.' 

But Islami claimed: 'Experts have affirmed that technically planes at this altitude cannot be shot down, and the black box will be the one that will reveal the reasons for the crash,' according to state news agency MENA. 

Russian transport minister Maksim Sokolov also dismissed the ISIS claims. He said: 'This information cannot be considered accurate. 

We are in close contact with our Egyptian colleagues and aviation authorities in the country. At present, they have no information that would confirm such insinuations.' 

While the use of a surface-to-air missile has been dismissed as a potential cause of the crash by officials, an on-board bomb could be a possibility.

BREAKING: Multiple Shots Fired In Chattanooga On The Armed Forces Career Center AND Navy Recruitment Center

There have been shootings at multiple places in Chattanooga, including near a U.S. Army Reserve center and a Navy recruiting center in the Tennessee city on Thursday, and a police officer was hit by gunfire, officials and local media reports said.

There have been several shootings at several different locations," said Tennessee Highway Patrol spokesman John Harmon. "It's a fluid situation," said Harmon, whose agency was helping local authorities.

"We've got an officer down," Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke told reporters, calling it a "very terrible situation."

The U.S. Navy said it was investigating a report of a shooting at a Navy recruiting center in Chattanooga....

An eyewitness, a woman who states that she was 10 feet away from shooter, is saying that she was "a white guy in a silver Mustang." No tags on the car. The shooter was using a "high-powered rifle."

The photo that I'm seeing on CNN is showing at least 18 bullet holes in the doors of the Navy Reserve Recruiting Station, which is in a strip mall.

There is also an unconfirmed report of a man driving a black BMW firing on the other location.

The two sites fired upon are 7.5 miles apart.

Addendum 1: Chattanooga Police are Tweeting out that the active shooter situation is resolved. News conference coming in a few minutes.

Addendum 2: According to reports on CNN, the shooter is dead. Buildings still remain on lock down, however.

Addendum 3: Four Marines injured [UPDATE: MARINES KILLED]. Chattanooga City Police officer wounded, but not seriously.

Addendum 4: Lock downs have ended. There are reports that the shooter and/or the police fired 100 rounds and that there was a shootout between the shooter and the police - with the end coming with two shots at the shooter after he fled into the woods of the big park in that part of Chattanooga.

We are hearing rather intense warnings of the likelihood of a terrorist attack this week.

This article, dated June 28, 2015, points out the following:

...In Britain, the ISIS targeted the annual Armed Forces Day parade on Saturday, but intelligence officials foiled the plot, which was discovered by an undercover British agent who was recruited by the terrorist group.

The ISIS had told the investigator, according to the London Sun, “It will be big. We will hit the kuffar (unbelievers) hard InshAllah. Hit their soldiers in their own land. InshAllah. Soldiers that served in Iraq and Afghanistan will be present. Jump in the crowd and detonate the bomb.

“They think they can kill Muslims in Iraq and Afghanistan then come back to the UK and be safe. We’ll hit them hard InshAllah.”

The multiple attacks on Friday indicate, whether coordinated or not, are clear signs that the Islamic State’s declared war on the world is more than rhetoric....

This morning on CBS This Morning, Michael Morell, who served as the CIA deputy director until his retirement in 2013 and now is CBS News's Senior Security Correspondent, said (my best recollection of his exact words): "I wouldn't be at all surprised if we weren't sitting here in one week to discuss a major terrorist attack that had happened over the coming weekend."
