Underwhelmed

What was my reaction to Ted Kennedy's death?

________________*birds chirping*____________________

Was his death as "shocking" and "tragic" as the MSM is trying to make us believe? No. He was 77 years old and had a terminal illness.

Like others, I definitely had my opinions about him. But, the following has more meaning to me, than just about Ted Kennedy:

I saw what Ted Kennedy did to Robert Bork. I saw what he did to Kopechne. There was not a noble bone in that savage’s body. Any political position he took was calculated to garner him power. No more, no less. Which I suppose one could say about most politicians, absent the body in the Olds and scalps in the closet. Kennedy did not inspire: he merely counted coup.

I just remember being quite stoned (while visiting Chappaquiddick — M), and staring into that little pissant pond of water, and thinking: how do you get out of a car, and shut the fucking door, and swim away, when there’s somebody else in the car? That’s all I kept thinking: he had to have shut the door on her, because she asphyxiated. At any rate, I never explored the details. I suppose he could have enticed her to roll a window up behind him. In an upside down car.

Ted is how I’ll always look at liberals: you can walk down the halls of the Senate with a goddamned severed head in hand, but if your politics are correct the entire fucking universe of the left will surround you, and protect you, and nurture you. Because only the game matters. No rules, no decency, no pride, no law. Just the fucking game. And winning.

To be honest, I detest politicians.

It doesn't matter whether they are on the left, right or center. No, they may not all have dead bodies in their life, but they are all the same.

The bigger this country has grown, the bigger the government has grown. And that growth included, politicians heads. The bigger they got, the smaller we have become. In the grand scheme, we are all "collateral", like ants at a picnic". Ants do not need much to eat, do not need much attention. They can be swept away if they get in the way.

But, they need our votes. So they'll say anything to get them. Doesn't really matter if it's true or not. And for the most part, it's all a bunch of lies.

All that really matters, is the grand scheme. Their political future. Their egos and reputation within their world. They belong to their own world, which in no way, resembles our own.

The media? The brown nosing, gold digging media? Dead bodies, untasteful friends and ideals, are just minor inconveniences. To be overlooked, like your brother's drinking problem.

We of course, have no choice but to "pick" a politician. Kind of like rummaging through a drawer of stained and holy socks, we must find a pair with the least amount of stains and the smallest holes. But, we walk around all day, knowing deep down inside, that we are wearing a pair of stained socks, full of holes.

As far as Ted Kennedy is concerned, we can only hope, that like the title of the
Cold Fury post I found this on, that he'll,

The self delusion and justifications are mind boggling...
Russ Feingold (D-MN) in the WSJ

I cannot support an open-ended commitment to an escalating war in Afghanistan when the al Qaeda operatives we sought have largely been captured or killed or crossed the border to Pakistan.

OK, I will listen to what you have to say about getting them in Pak

Yet our operations in Afghanistan will not do so, and they could actually contribute to further destabilization of Pakistan. Meanwhile, we've become embroiled in a nation-building experiment that may distract us from combating al Qaeda and its affiliates, not just in Pakistan, but in Yemen, the Horn of Africa and other terrorist sanctuaries.

Nice try, but Obama has said the real war is in Afghanistan. Of course watching you and he, and the others of like mind, in the end try to slip that knot will be great sport

We need to start discussing a flexible timetable to bring our brave troops out of Afghanistan

Welcome to 1990. We already brought everyone home once.

our troop presence contributes to resentment in some quarters and hinders our ability to achieve our broader national security goals.

Where have I heard this before? Maybe before the surge in Iraq? NAAAAAAAAAAAH
But wait till you read this and try to figure out what it means

we should seek to deny al Qaeda a safe haven in Afghanistan in the long term with a civilian-led strategy discouraging any support for the Taliban by Pakistani security forces, and offer assistance to improve Afghanistan's economy while fighting corruption in its government. This should be coupled with targeted military operations and a diplomatic strategy that incorporates all the countries in the region. We will never relent in our pursuit of al Qaeda, nor will we "walk away" from Afghanistan. But our massive military presence there is driving our enemies together and may well be counterproductive.

WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?

Pakistani security forces 'dissuaded' from supporting the Taliban? Delusion.
Here, take our money and think of us as nice guys and be nice to you people instead of stealing this money? Yeah, that has worked in the past
A diplomatic strategy to kill a religious war?

And this lie?

"We will never relent in our pursuit of al Qaeda, nor will we "walk away" from Afghanistan"

That is precisely what you are proposing in a Maple-BrownSugar Oatmeal dish to kill the flavor.

This sucks Russ, but those are the cards, Feingold. Imagine this manner of thinking in April 1942.

I have no idea what Feingold ACTUALLY ENVISIONS, but I can tell you what others will see. I can tell you what enemies, religious and otherwise will convey to those they influence. I can tell you what allies will fear about us in the night. And I can tell you what Mr, Feingold and so many other democrats can hide from themselves with such alacrity. They are the party of defeat. And they were chosen by the people

From Atlas Shrugs and Jihad Watch:

Child bride

Wilders is demanding that the left stand by their false premise so this should be enormously interesting to witness.  Geert Wilders is demanding condemnation of the 10 year odl bride in Saudi Arabia. Simple, no? Not so fast ............

Over at Jihadwatch ....

Wilders: 80-year-old Muslim who married 10-year-old "is behaving like a pig, just like the barbarous Prophet Mohammed, who married the six year old girl Aisha"

Right now Wilders is playing offense: "The PVV leader wants Verhagen to summon the Saudi Arabian ambassador to express his repugnance." But expect the cascade of protests and condemnations -- from both Muslims and dhimmis -- to begin soon.

Still, however, this puts those who will condemn Wilders in a peculiar position. If they take issue with his characterization of Muhammad, they will either be excusing the Muslim prophet's marriage to a six-year-old and declining to condemn those Muslims who imitate their prophet by taking child brides, or, if they say that Muhammad didn't actually marry a child, they're in the position of denying evidence that is in the sources Muslims consider most reliable. Yet as this incident with the 80-year-old and his 10-year-old bride demonstrates ("my marriage is not against Shariah," said the codger), many Muslims take that evidence quite seriously.

"Wilders Compares Prophet Mohammed to Pig," from NIS News, August 28 (thanks to Ebonystone):

THE HAGUE, 28/08/09 - Party for Freedom (PVV) leader Geert Wilders has seized on a news report from Saudi Arabia for peppery written questions to the cabinet. In these, he compares the Islamic prophet Mohammed to a pig.

Wilders has requested clarification from Foreign Minister Maxime Verhagen on a marriage in Saudi Arabia between an 80 year old man and a 10 year old child. The child had run away from her elderly husband, but was brought back to him by her father, the English-language website Arab News reports based on a Saudi newspaper.

Wilders asks the minister if he shares the view that "this man is behaving like a pig, just like the barbarous Prophet Mohammed, who married the six year old girl Aisha." The PVV leader wants Verhagen to summon the Saudi Arabian ambassador to express his repugnance.

The BBC Says The Demographic Statistics Do Not Show That Europe Will Become Muslim Anytime Soon

Thanks to Damien for sending this to me.

Let me know what you think.

It doesn't seem honest to me.

There are multiple questions the video does not really answer.

What is the percentage of Islamic immigrants in Europe vs. non-Muslim immigrants?

What is the percentage of Muslims in major European cities vs. the outlying cities?

What is the Muslim birthrate per Muslim male in Europe?

What is the native Christian birthrate per native European Christian male in Europe?

And, those unanswered questions are just the beginning. I'm sure you can come up with more.

"It Ain't [America] No More, OK?"

(Hat tip to Gateway Pundit)

If the following video, taken at the August 25, 2009 town hall with U.S. House Representative James Moran and Howard Dean at South Lakes High School in Northern Virginia, doesn't make your blood boil, what does? Please note that Wesley Cheeks, Jr., is not a Fairfax County Police officer; his paycheck is funded by the local taxpayers, however.

The unedited text from the YouTube posting (emphases mine):
This video was taken on Tuesday, August 25th, 2009, at Rep. Jim Moran's (D-VA) Town Hall meeting on Obama Deathcare (Howie Dean was there too) held at South Lakes High School in Reston, VA.

Many people were left outside when the school filled to capacity. School security officer Wesley Cheeks, Jr. did not like my anti-Obamacare poster which used one of the gone-viral "Joker" graphics.

When I said to Officer Cheeks, "This used to be America!" his response was: "It ain't no more, OK?"

I feel sorry for Officer Cheeks. He, like many African-Americans are being played by the racist Obama administration. Wake up people. They used to want you only for your votes, but now with the huge hispanic illegals pouring in they won't even need you for that. Watch those inner city abortion clinics get stimulated though. Democrat and church leaders sure seem to have time and money to build those.

Google "margaret sangar black children eugenics" (no quotes) and find out what's REALLY behind those Democrat abortuariums run by Planned Parenthood. Democrat eugenicists like Rahm Emanuel and his brother Zeke "Dr. Mengele" Emanuel and John Holdren and George Soros and Mr. Abortion himself, Barack Obama can't kill enough black babies. The ovens are fired up. Wake up people.

Satan is in da house.
Comments to the posting already number well over 1000.

Over at Gateway Pundit's posting, I noted the following comment:
I don't think we're Republicans and Democrats any longer. Now we can be divided up between people who believe in free speech and those who don't.

Yes, this choice is the point to which BHO and this Democratic Congress have brought us.

A Followup On An Uncorroborated Report From the Area of Camp Pendleton

A few days ago I post the following story:

Because I live in Orange County, CA, I am hearing that something is up at Camp Pendleton which is, seemingly, unprecedented.

A woman I am friends with told me that she has lived in Coto De Caza, CA (it's a country club area) perhaps 8-12 miles (as the crow flies) from Pendleton, and she has never heard "anything like it."

For the past "two weeks" there has been "non-stop night time bombing" exercises going on.

She said that in the past 12 years she has never heard bombing for more than one night, and even then, it's only been a few bombs.

I asked her if some of the bombs were bigger than any she had ever heard before, and she said, "Yes."

Is Camp Pendleton conducting practice night time raids against Iran?

Midnight Bomb Run Set For Pendleton

I admit that, because I am not well-versed in military matters, I was cowed by the following comments:

Total said...
The MOP has only been tested at the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico; the same place where they tested the MOAB and the original Trinity atomic bomb. As Matrix said, Camp Pendleton is too close to a population center and it has never really had a history as an experimental weapons test site.

In regard to El Centro and the Salton Sea: it is currently used as a training site for U.S. and British helicopter crews as the terrain and temperature there resembles the environment in Afghanistan closely.

More than likely it's Marine F/A-18s doing some runs. Obama WILL not fight Iran. I find it amusing people thinks he will.

Secondly, the Marines don't have any aircraft that can carry those big ass bunker busters. The Air Force does and they have their own ranges and more secluded.

And then, today, in a telephone conversation explaining the post to my friend Midnight Rider, I realized that I could have been right in my assessment of the situation all along, and the story could be bigger than I realized in the first place.

First, when I was in this lady's home (once again, just a few miles from Camp Pendleton) I heard the distinctive sound of F-16's flying overhead several times. In fact, that is what brought up the conversation about the bombing. (For the record, living in the Los Angeles/Orange County Area, I am used to the sound of F-16's, which are called out whenever there is danger suspected at John Wayne Airport/LAX/Disneyland. And, the Marines, to my knowledge, do not have F-16's. Am I wrong about that?)

I asked her, "What the hell was that?"

And she responded by telling me the story of the night-bombing exercises she has been hearing for the past two weeks.

In fact, what we could be witnessing here is a joint Air Force and Marine exercise. If that is the case, then the Pentagon has a larger plan in the works than the one upon which I initially speculated.

Could it be that the Air Force intends to bomb Iran, and drop Marine Special Forces into Tehran to take control during the course of the bombing?

Note, I do not believe that Obama is in control of the whole nation. If you look at history, you will see that there are always larger plans at work (constructed by the Pentagon, CIA, State Dept., and the FBI) which each succeeding Administration is called to conform to.

Even the Carter Administration followed through on the Containment Policy, conceived by George Kennan in 1946 (to the extent that he was not capable of rejecting the over-arching plan).

From Wikipedia:

(Containment was a United States policy using military, economic, and diplomatic strategies to temper the spread of Communism, enhance America’s security and influence abroad, and prevent a "domino effect". A component of the Cold War, the policy was a response to a series of moves by theSoviet Union to expand Communist influence in Eastern Europe, China, and Korea. It represented a middle-ground position between appeasement androllback. The basis of the doctrine was articulated in a 1946 cable by U.S. diplomat George F. Kennan. As a description of U.S. foreign policy, the word originated in a report Kennan submitted to Defense Secretary James Forrestal in January 1947, a report that was later published as a magazine article. It is a translation of the French cordon sanitaire, used to describe Western policy toward the Soviet Union in the 1920s.)
Even Jimmy Carter, in all his Pacifist Glory, was incapable of putting an end to this policy.

And so, I believe, even Obama, in all his anti-American-hegemony Glory is powerless to put a stop to the larger plans, already in the works, by the Pentagon.

What do you say? Do you really believe Obama has the absolute authority to tell the Pentagon, "No", without severe repercussions?

Remember, we live in a system of checks and balances.

Or, am I wrong?
Follow on from Midnight Rider:
As I said to Pastorius. Obama may be an Alinskyite (may be???) but at the same time I don't think he wants to see America attacked. He may want to see it socialist or communist but he still wants to be the one running the show.
If he percceives a threat to the country he may act to disrupt it.
Now, whether he disrupts it to protect America as it is or as he hopes to change it to/in his own self interest is open to discussion.
He does not want to surrender his "rule", his power. So, if he sees a threat, he may attack first, if only to preserve his own position.
Beyond everything else, he's a narcissist. He gets off on being in charge. Of the world knowing HE is the President (he has no problem reminding people of that).
Do you really think he'd want to let that go?

Apparently, We're Now Using The UAE To Do Our Dirty Work

I can't figure out if it is pathetic of the Obama Administration to abandon such purposes to the UAE, or if, on the other, perhaps, it is a work of genius.

Maybe, Obama thinks it is forcing the Muslim world to take responsibility for the chaos they create. If that is the way he is thinking, the I toast him. A glass of Wild Turkey and a cigar (in the name of Midnight Rider) to Obama.

Aug. 28 (Bloomberg) -- The United Arab Emirates has seized a ship carrying North Korean-manufactured munitions, detonators, explosives and rocket-propelled grenades bound for Iran in violation of United Nations sanctions, diplomats said.

The UAE two weeks ago notified the UN Security Council of the seizure, according to the diplomats, who spoke on condition they aren’t named because the communication hasn’t been made public. They said the ship, owned by an Australian subsidiary of a French company and sailing under a Bahamian flag, was carrying 10 containers of arms disguised as oil equipment.

The council committee that monitors enforcement of UN sanctions against North Korea wrote letters to Iran and the government in Pyongyang asking for explanations of the violation, and one to the UAE expressing appreciation for the cooperation, the envoys said. No response has been received and the UAE has unloaded the cargo, they said.

The UAE and Iranian missions to the UN didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment. The Financial Times reported the weapons seizure earlier today.

The Security Council voted on June 12 to adopt a resolution that punishes North Korea for its recent nuclear-bomb test and missile launches through cargo inspections and enforcement of restrictions on financial transactions. The measure calls for the interdiction at seaports, airports or in international waters of any cargo suspected of containing arms or nuclear or missile-related materials going to or from North Korea.

UN Sanctions

Iran is under three sets of UN sanctions for its refusal to halt uranium enrichment, a process to isolate a uranium isotope needed to generate fuel for a nuclear power reactor or, in higher concentrations, to make a weapon.

Iran denies allegations by the U.S. and some of its major allies that it seeks an atomic weapon or the means to build one, insisting the nuclear work is intended to generate electricity.

U.S. President Barack Obama has said the Iranian government must respond by late September to his request for new talks on curbing its nuclear program. Iran last month said work is under way on proposals that may provide the basis for renewed talks.

Russia: Jihadists Kill Four Policeman and Seven Women In a Sauna

Just another chapter in the Religion of Peace:

Russian police are hunting gunmen who killed seven women at a sauna and four policemen at a checkpoint in the troubled southern region of Dagestan.

The attack happened on Thursday in the town of Buynaksk, 41km (25 miles) from the regional capital Makhachkala.

Police say they know the identities of some of the gunmen, who fled into a forest after the attack.

Separately, four policemen and two militants were killed in a clash near Grozny, in neighbouring Chechnya.

Moscow has been keen to portray Chechnya and the region as an area returning to normal after years of unrest.

But these latest attacks form part of a wider pattern: a growing anti-Kremlin, Islamist insurgency that appears to be spreading across the North Caucasus, the BBC's Gabriel Gatehouse reports.
