Australian Niqabi's husband expresses himself on FB

Carnitta Matthews is an Australian niqabi woman who wasn't sanctioned because of reckless driving as the judge considered this a case of "mistaken identity".  Her husband has said she is "very sad" and that she doesn't want to get out of the house, after the process. In his profile on FB he has been showing what he really thinks:

“All the hero’s (sic) and lions of Allah (pictured) whom (sic) had the chance to come to the court and fight for the sake of Allah . . . Allah has granted your oppressed sister victory over his enemies and he granted us a judge that from the word go he was defending your sister where everyone else was determined to see her jailed, but Allah had other plans. They plot, but Allah is the best of plotters.”

(His FB page) also features videos of Osama bin Laden, slurs against infidels and “Kufaars” (non-Muslims), “American pig savages” and “Zionist dogs”.

Those "lions of Allah" attacked the cameramen who were outside the court to cover the news.

Indonesian minister says he shook first lady's hand — by accident

Official, known for flaunting his piety, says touch wasn't by choice

JAKARTA, Indonesia — Once the wait for President Barack Obama's return was over, Indonesian anticipation turned to another question: Would a conservative Muslim government minister shake the first lady's hand?

He says he did, but not by choice. Footage on YouTube shows otherwise, sparking a debate that has lit up Facebook, Twitter and the rest of the blogosphere.

"I tried to prevent (being touched) with my hands but Mrs. Michelle held her hands too far toward me (so) we touched," Information Minister Tifatul Sembiring told tens of thousands of followers on Twitter.

While Indonesia has the largest Muslim population in the world, the vast majority practice a moderate form of the faith. But Sembiring has flaunted his piety, making a point of avoiding contact with women who are not related to him.

The minister was among the dignitaries in a receiving line that greeted the Obamas as they arrived in Jakarta on Tuesday — a homecoming of sorts for the president who spent part of his childhood here. Indonesians gathered around television sets across the country to watch the American president touch down. Children at the school he attended practiced a song dedicated to him just in case he visited.

In footage of the official welcome, Sembiring appeared to share his countrymen's enthusiasm. He smiled broadly as he shook the president's hand and then reached with both hands to grasp Michelle's. But later he said she forced their contact.

His denial was in a response to tweets from Indonesians who noted the handshake, saying it called into question his long-standing claims that, as a good Muslim, he restricts his contact with women.

Many posts had a "gotcha" quality to them.

Perhaps the biggest laugh is that MSNBC put this under the "A-List Lifestyle" heading. Saudi "clerics" (i.e., pompous old savages in nighshirts) have again thwarted the brave efforts of the Saudi royals to modernize their theocratic kingdom. Tough break, O Sons of the Desert Sands. Look on the bright side: instead they'll be home, barefoot and pregnant and furthering the demographic jihad.

Meanwhile, CNN has the goods on some sheep and goats at a halal slaughterhouse in New York decided to make a run for it, but got busted by the cops. Where is the Chicken Run gang when you need them? Jason Walters, a member of Hofstadgroep, the group whose leader was Mohammed Bouyeri, Theo van Gogh's killer, has written a letter in which he denounces the Jihadist world. 7. Indonesia: Preacher funded terrorism in Aceh province. Radical Islamist preacher Abu Bakar Bashir allegedly raised tens of thousands of dollars to set up a training camp for militants in Indonesia’s Aceh province, a court heard on Thursday.

The interview was made by a Spanish newspaper to her husband, who says she has wore a burqa all her life. When the photographer took her photo, Sumaya didn't utter a word.

Germany: Feminist writes book on Islamic veil

And supports its prohibition:

The headscarf is more than just a piece of fabric, more than just another article of clothing, and definitely not some hip lifestyle accessory that heavily made-up girls should use to add a little color to their wardrobe. No, the head scarf is a "flag and symbol of Islamists" which "followed a crusade all the way to the heart of Europe by the 1980s." Or so says iconic German feminist Alice Schwarzer in her new book, "The Great Cover Up: For Integration, against Islamism".

The book was recently published in German under the name "Die grosse Verschleierung: Fuer Integration, gegen Islamismus," and its strong statements been an injection of yet more fuel into the already burning integration debate in Germany.

Teachers are no longer allowed to wear the head scarf in German public schools, and now Schwarzer has demanded the next step: Girls should be forbidden to wear it as well.

"Only this forceful act would finally give the young woman from a fundamentalist orthodox family the chance to move with freedom and equality, at least within the confines of the schoolyard," Schwarzer writes.

Many readers are likely to react negatively to this demand for a headscarf ban. In themselves, bans clash with freedoms and rights that are supposed to be self-evident in Germany: the right to individual self-determination, the freedom of religion.

Egypt: Two brothers "honor killed" their sister

A young man in Egypt goes to a party seeking drugs and prostitutes, discovers his sister there. He later beats her to death with his younger brother, then stabs and burns her. The brothers were sentenced to a year in jail.

Alliance of Civilizations and gender equality, of course. Specially when the brothers have been sentenced to one year in jail. Just to have an idea of proportions: blogger Abdul Karim Soliman was sentenced to 4 years in prison because he allegedly insulted Islam and Mubarak.

Spain: Moroccan man arrested for having his wife locked in an appartment in Viladecans

Catalan Autonomous police, Mossos d'Esquadra, have arrested a 39-year-old man as an alleged author of an illegal detention crime after having his wife locked in during more than a year, in a property in Viladecans (Barcelona), according to policial sources.

The victim, of Maghrebi origin, lived in the bottom floor of a property at Joan Fivell st. She only had access to a bedroom and a bathroom, where he leaved the wife alone and defenseless for days, according to Spanish newspaper ADN.

The Mossos received a call on Thursday informing that there was a woman who could be locked in an appartment there. Where they arrived at the scene, they discovered that the room had locks and ranges. The 27-year old woman, who was freed, told the officers, using an interpreter, that she has been locked for more than a year in that room.

The victim was evacuated to the Viladecan's Hospital because she suffered from anxiety and the social services took her to a shelter home. The Mossos arrested last Saturday night 39-years-old Mohammed K., on illegal detention charges.

Commenter Jake Neuman sent me a link to his website with a summary of his book Islam: Evil in the Name of God. I haven't read it (yet), but judging from the summary and the brief preview at Amazon, I find it sufficiently important to give it some publicity.

hanged in Iran since the revolution. They are all the first Nedas.

It is dedicated to the 10 Bahá' religious women hanged
in Shiraz Iran in 1983 after they refused to renounce
their religion and become Muslims - Mona Mahmudnizhad,
who was just 17 years old, 23 year old Roya Ishraqi, a
promising veterinary student, was executed with her 50 year
old mother, Izzad Janami Ishraqi, 20 year old Akhtar Sabit,
a graduate nurse, 28 year old Mahshid Nirumand a physics
graduate from the University of Shiraz, Shirin Dalvand 25
years old, Tahirih Siyavushi a 32 year old nurse, 20 year
old Simin Sabiri, Zarrin Muqimi and the oldest 54 year old
Mrs Nosrat Yalda'I.

Another Neda was Dina Parnabi an Iranian high school student,
accused of smuggling forbidden literature and criticising the
regime in her talks with her classmates. She was hanged on the
10th of July 1984 in a Teheran prison. The hanging was done in
private andafter the execution was over, her body was stripped,
washed and delivered for dissection at medical school.

16 year old Atefeh Rajabi was hanged in public in the town of
NekaAtefeh. Atefeh was executed for “engaging in acts
incompatible with chastity.” At the place of execution in the
town’s square, the judge personally put the rope around the
girl’s neck and gave the signal to the crane operator to begin
her hanging. Witnesses reported that she begged for mercy
and had to be dragged kicking and screaming to the execution
truck. Judge Haji Rezaie said he was pleased to hang her and
is quoted as saying, "Society has to be kept safe from acts
against public morality." Her body was left dangling from the
crane for some time so people could see what happened to
teenagers who committed acts incompatible with chastity.

187 of these first Neda’s were under the age of 18, with 9
girls under the age of 13. The youngest girl executed was
just 10 years old. Thirty two of these women were reported to
have been pregnant at the time of their execution. Many of
those executed were high school and college students. Hanging
is the most common method of execution for women, although
some are shot. Men and women were hanged in large groups
in Tehran prisons from cranes and forklift trucks. Each crane
jib or forklift had a wooden or steel beam to which the noose
was attached and when the preparations were complete, the
prisoners were simply hoisted into the air.

Under Revolutionary law, young girls who were sentenced to
death could not be executed if they were still virgins.

Thus, they were "married off" to Revolutionary Guards and
prison officials in temporary marriages and then raped before
their execution, to prevent them going to heaven. The Mullahs
believed that these women were ungodly and did not deserve
paradise in the next life and that if they were deprived of their
virginity, it would ensure that they went to hell. Therefore, on
the night prior to execution, the condemned girl was injected
witha tranquilliser and then raped by her guard(s). After the
execution,the religious judge at the prison would write out a
marriage certificate and send it to the victim's family along with
a box of sweets.

The back cover is of 3 gays murdered by Iranian justice
according to the holy teachings of Islam.


This book exposes the evil of Islam and very grave
danger Islamic ideology poses to all freedom
loving peoples everywhere.

The issues raised by the recent revivalism of Islam are of
life and death to the democratic world. Islam is one of the
most serious threats freedom loving people have ever faced.
It is the greatest threat that western women have faced to their
hard won freedoms and legal protection of their basic rights.
Islam is one of the most diabolical ideologies ever created. You
must understand what Islam truly represents and participate
in the fight against this very evil ideology.

have declared war against Islam, are a grave danger

concept that must be emphasized repeatedly is that

– it is anti kafir. The Jews are the most viled of
kafirs followed by Christians, Hindus, etc. The Koran
is not a holy book but a book of war. A book of
genocide. Allah is the AntiGod of war. Again, this
war is permanent until all kafirs either convert to Islam
or agree to pay a devastating jizya (submission tax)
and accept dhimmude status (see chapters 43 and 44)
or be murdered.

For Muslims, it is a holy religious duty to murder kafirs.
The Koran is written in the language of terrorism.
It is filled with numerous verses urging the Muslims to
terrorize the non Muslims, kill them, and take possession
of their lands and properties. The important points to
remember are that whatever Muhammad did to terrorize
the kafirs was actually the actions of God. Among the
many verses which exhort Islamist terrorism, the
following verses stand out as naked aggression of
Allah/Muhammad on the unbelievers: 2:63, 3:151, 8:12,

Does anyone else get the feeling that the Mufti of Dubai may not have taken sufficient time to think this through? At Theo Spark:

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, March 6 (UPI)

Women who have sufficient knowledge of Islamic teachings can become mufti and issue fatwas, the chief mufti of Dubai says.

Dr. Ahmed al-Haddad, the head of the Dubai fatwa department, made the ruling in a fatwa that said becoming a mufti depends on knowledge, not gender, al-Arabiya reported. He cited a Koranic verse that urges those with knowledge of the law to share it.

"If a woman reaches the level of education that enables her to issue fatwas, then she has the right to work as a mufti and issue fatwas on all possible issues," Haddad said.

Mufti apply the Koran and the teaching of Mohammed to modern issues.

The Islamic scholars who met in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in January for the Mecca International Conference on Fatwa and Its Regulations did not specifically say that women can become mufti but did not rule it out. They issued a Fatwa Charter with 41 articles and no reference to gender.

Article 8 detailed the requirements for issuing fatwa: "Islam, justice, maturity, intelligence, and deep knowledge in Islamic rules."


Muffy may be so focused on "Islam" and Islamic law" that it has not yet occurred to him what women of "justice, maturity, intelligence" might be able to accomplish towards draining that particular swamp. Until the boys catch on, of course.

OK, it's Saturday morning. Let's lighten up a little.

I’ve been thinking about the Islamic member. As you do. It does seem more apt to assume a state of tumescence than those appendages belonging to males of other religions and none.

Back in the summer, we heard stories about the “burcycle”. That’s a portmanteau word incorporating burqa and bicycle. It would allow women in Iran – where women are not allowed to ride bicycles – to take to the road on two wheels (they can ride on motorbikes, apparently, but must be accompanied by a male and sit behind him, which makes actually driving the motorbike a bit difficult without pressing her gazonkas arousingly against her companion's back, which could be a bit embarrassing if it's her dad).

The woman riding an ordinary bicycle is deemed to be too arousing for Muslim men, it seems, so someone has invented this “burcycle” contraption, which is a sort of shed on two wheels. The poor cyclist is in the shed, pedalling away, and remains concealed, apart, we assume, from the head.

But even the head could find itself more covered than usual. We heard a few weeks ago that some crazy imam in Saudi Arabia wants veiled women to be able to show only one eye. Yes, one eye is enough, apparently, says Sheikh Muhammad al-Habadan.

Anything more is seen as a come-on to the men. Well, the heterosexual ones, that is, but, of course, most Islamic countries don’t have homosexuals, do they? If they find any, they usually dispose of them in interesting ways.

But just what is it about the Muslim male that makes him less able than others to keep his pecker in his pants? Why is it so hard to prevent the blood running to his dangly bits?

A document that came into my possession some time ago may be of interest, and is clearly good news to many Muslim males. This highly sensitive piece of evidence (OK, it's provenance may be a bit dubious) came to me after I had read a story in the International Herald Tribune last year, in which Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, the spiritual leader of the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party, accuses women of “emotional abuse”, saying that men are finding it difficult to sleep at night because they are so aroused. He wants changes,

. . . including that women should stop wearing lipstick and perfume to lower the risk of being raped. Women’s groups have slammed his statements, saying Islam teaches both men and women to be responsible for modesty. They say comments like these encourage rapes because it puts the onus on women.

And so to my highly sensitive document. This purports (as I say, it could just be a fake) to be a transcript of a sermon this geezer gave to his brethren within the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party, which shows that not all is bad, and some Muslims are rising to the challenge. This is what he is alleged to have had to say:

Brothers, it is with a sad heart that I come before you today – though “come” may not be the most appropriate of words in these hard— er, these trying times.

I am truly cognisant of how uncomfortable it is for us to pray, kneeling as we do. These harlots do not realise the anguish caused to us five times a day when we come here to commune with Allah (pbuh) and our Pillars of Islam make painful contact with the floor.

But, in his great munificence and generosity of spirit, most merciful Allah (pbuh) has smiled on his poor, hard-done-to creatures, and has provided gracious compensations.

My great friend Dawoud al-Har Don in Rawalpindi is now making a great profit (pbuh) by selling mini-burqas to his brothers in that great city so they can cover their impressive members while undressing for bed, in order that their womenfolk might not become violently aroused at the sight of them and seek to rape them.

In New York, where he runs a street stall selling most agreeable and delectable sweetmeats, my good friend and cousin-twelve-times-removed Hadir al-Priapus has found a novel and amusing way to display his halal doughnuts to customers.

And my wife’s uncle, Mahmoud el-Stiffi – in Bradford in England – has at last found somewhere to hang his donkey jacket.

And as for myself, my brothers, I have grown an affection for my member and have decided to give him – er, it – a name. I have chosen for his name Mohammed (pbuh).

The International Herald Tribune is not the only news outlet to carry the story. But no publication other than Infidel Bloggers Alliance has hard evidence of Nik’s letter to his hard-done-to brethren in Malaysia. We have hard copy, and we have it firmly backed up on an external hard drive.

The drive was not hard, however, till it noticed a pair of floppies.

When will they ever learn?

As if we actually needed proof that Islam was slowly but surely creeping further and further into our way of life in the UK, we learn from today's Sunday Times (UK) that sharia courts now have official sanction, and that there are five of them operating in the country, including one I blogged about last week (see "How do you solve a problem like sharia?").

It's a frightening situation, and one I certainly wasn't aware of, and presumably most people were not, either, given that the paper has seen fit to publish the fact as a news story.

It says the British government has "quietly sanctioned" the powers of these "courts" so that "sharia judges [can] rule on cases ranging from divorce and financial disputes to those involving domestic violence".

Rulings issued by any of the five sharia courts are enforceable "with the full power of the judicial system, through the county courts or High Court".

Now you might argue that there's nothing to worry about, since they're just arbitration assemblies, and sharia "courts" are able to set themselves up as such under the Arbitration Act of 1996, which Muslims have taken advantage of.

But what happens when one of these kangaroo "courts" decides to "try" a case involving homosexuals or women?

On the Run from Islamic "Family Honor"

This story is excerpted from an article titled "Running Scared" in the March 2008 British edition of Cosmopolitan.

As 'Zena' walks home from the shop where she works, she takes in the
scene around her. It's an ordinary day, but... she clocks everything about her
surroundings -- number plates on passing cars, a man at the bus stop, two women
chatting... in the pub window. She's walking briskly, too; if she's even a few
minutes late home, her husband Jack will start to worry.

Zena, 37, a British Muslim, is one of the many women in the UK who has
taken the extreme measure of changing her identity. She and Jack... have lived
as runaways since Zena refused to be forced into an arranged marriage when she
was 21.

By her own account, Zena grew up in a home filled not with fear and abuse, but with laughter and affection. "My family meant everything to me... My sisters and I were real daddy's girls. We always felt he would protect us... " While adhering to Muslim "cultural" strictures against pubs and nightclubs, the large family of siblings invited friends over for pizza and dancing to Michael Jackson and Madonna. "The house was always noisy and full of laughter."

But in the back of her mind, Zena knew she was expected to submit to a marriage arranged by her parents.

In 1992 Zena met 'Jack', who is English and non-Muslim, and the two fell in love. They started meeting in secret. But Zena's parents had already chosen her future husband. So one morning before dawn Zena sneaked out of the house and eloped with Jack. Several days later Zena called her "loving family", hoping to persuade them to accept her marriage to Jack.

My brother answered and said I had brought shame on the family, that we were
both walking corpses and our bodies would end up in several bin liners. He said
they'd send a bounty hunter to track us down.

Zena and Jack were granted 'nationally sensitive' status by the police, in which their birth names and all traces of their past were wiped off government records. They have changed their identities twice more and moved more than 30 times. Even Jack has been forced to limit his contact with his own family. She and Jack live the lives of fugitives.

I have six different routes to get home from work so there's less chance of me
being followed. We know it takes seven seconds for someone to get from the front
door to our bedroom, so I've got enough time to get out of the window.

Zena mourns the loss of her large family. "Knowing that they want me killed is devastating," she says. She has not spoken with any family member in the 15 years of her marriage, and does not even know if her parents are still alive. And she will never have a family of her own, since it would be dangerous and unfair to bring a child into their fugitive lives. But she has no other regrets. "There are days when it's tough, but it's all been worth it. Despite our troubles, we rarely argue -- we know we're stronger if we face them together. I never tire of having only Jack in my life... I love him and know I've done the right thing. I would do it again tomorrow in a heartbeat."

Our way of life is under attack. And we are not fighting back. Deep
down, we know that when a woman has disgraced her family, nothing will restore
honor except by killing her. This is understood in Jordan, Syria, Yemen,
Lebanon, Egypt, the Gaza strip and the West Bank. So why are we Arabs telling
the Western press that honor killing is cultural, that it is not really part of
Islam? Our way of life is based on maintaining our honor. And make no mistake
about it: a woman does tarnish her family's honor by engaging in pre-marital
sex, or by getting herself raped, when she seeks divorce and when she marries
against her family's wishes.

There are millions of men like bin Hookah who believe women are their property, that they hold the power of life and death over them and have the final say in how they will conduct their lives. Fortunately, in Western culture such men are a small minority. But if bin Hookah is right, they are the majority in Islamic culture. And their "way of life" creeps nearer with every concession to Muslim "cultural sensitivity".
