Occupy Wall Street Launching First Nationwide General Strike In America Since 1946

Occupy Wall Street Launches Nationwide General Strike: First In America Since 1946

Rumors have been flying for a week that the Occupy protesters will be launching a nationwide general strike. We have been biting our tongue waiting for a formal decision.

Mother Jones tweets:

From our reporter at #occupyoakland General Assembly just now MT @timmcdonnell: General strike passes with 1184 votes of approval

JackalAnon tweets:

STRIKE APPROVED FOR NEXT WEDNESDAY! GENERAL STRIKE FIRST TIME IN THE USA SINCE 1946!

(The last American general strike was also in Oakland).

The strike will occur on November 2nd.

One of the founders of the Tea Party – conservative Karl Denninger – supports the strike (and see this).

Occupy Wall Street in New York has also been considering a proposal for a general strike. And there are also rumors of a global general strike next year.

Gosh, isn’t is great the way they are so excited?
Someone remind me to notice

Um, not to be Johnny Rain Cloud here, but don't you have to be working to go on strike?

Remember the unions are supporting OWS. They can call a strike.
Reagan handled the air traffic controllers strike, but Obama is no Reagan.

What will you NOTICE anon?

What will affect your life?

What number in the USA are involved here? I checked this last week and the number of people in the USA in the streets at ANY ONE TIME is at most 5000.

This movement's visibility is a product of the left's desperation to have a legitimate people's force after seeing the tea party 'bourgeois' scare the hell out of them, and the media's quaking fear that their guy is a hopeless schmuck.

The number of people involved in this movement makes it's actions' success BOLSHEVIK. It should be resisted on that basis. These are the birthers and 'Obama is a muslim' thinkers of the left.

Directly from the OWS campers? Nothing. From the supporters of the OWS. ..I expect violent disturbances.

From the unions supporting OWS - your guess is as good as mine. Should the union goons pull that trigger, that strategy has a good chance of a massive backfire.

The big picture is Obama wants another four years. As the final stretch to 11/2012, Cloward Piven's chaos strategy appears to be the plan.

It would be a mistake to write off the potential damage OWS has in store.

They've already been on strike. Haven't they already lost their jobs at Starbucks?
