Who needs 527's or 501c's?

Of course by now we are all aware of the Obama effort to mimic Sheik Ibn Mafouz and use the intimidation of the courts to silence opposition. So let's see how the republicans treat real slander ...

That Sarah Palin gave birth to no one, and in fact it was her teenage daughter's illegitimate child which she wished to cover up. The proof? The gov didn't 'look' pregnant in her photos, and the daughter was out of school for months. Via Kos and slyly reported by Rachel Maddow of MSNBC

And then there's, ....audience hears intake of breath...Troopergate! Which looks, as more and more info comes out that having tasered the gov's nephew, and threatened in front of witnesses to kill her father, as if it is a case of a real loser being protected by the police union and the dept.
Last we have the ...'she supported Buchanan' absurdity, where she wore a Buchanan button when the guy was at a function in Wasilla when she was mayor. She called the papers after to ensure they understood it was courtesy for the guest, and she was NOT supporting the guy, and oh by the way, WAS ON THE STEVE FORBES LEADERSHIP TEAM and campaign in 2000, and assumed that position 3 weeks after Buchanan appeared in Wasilla. DUH YAWN. But Obama is desperate to up his jewish vote and overcome the bigoted views and appointments of Brzezinski, McPeak, Powers, Malley and his decades long association with Wright. Tying Palin to the racist Buchanan is one way.

"Palin was a supporter of [MSNBC analyst] Pat Buchanan, a right-winger or as many Jews call him: a Nazi sympathizer,'' Obama spokesman Mark Bubriski wrote in an email. - from the Miami Herald.

A New Way Jihadists Can Muzzle American's Free Speech

It’s known as “libel tourism” and here’s how it works: A book published in the United States names an individual abroad who supports terrorist groups. That individual – for the sake of discussion, let’s say he’s a Saudi petro-billionaire with a home in London – goes online and orders a few copies which arrive in the mail. He takes those books to a British attorney who files a lawsuit complaining that his client has been libeled.

The billionaire knows it will be much easier to prevail in the U.K. than it would be in an American court where the First Amendment and decades of case law provide free speech protections. (Under English law, by contrast, the burden in a libel case is on the defendant to prove his innocence – which can be impossible if he’s been using confidential sources or even just sources who don’t want to cross an ocean and take part in a courtroom battle.)

The legal costs are chump change for the billionaire, while few non-fiction writers command similar resources. If the writer chooses not to spend months living in a hotel and fighting it out in court, the case will be forfeit and he will be hit with a “default judgment.” If he doesn’t pay, he’ll never again be able to set foot in the U.K. and other countries that enforce British court judgments.

But more important is this: The message gets sent, loud and clear, to journalists, scholars and publishers, that researching and writing about terrorists and those who enable them is verboten – even in America.

Demagogues and Circuses

Guest Commentary by Edward Cline:

Facing the political trends today often feels like confronting a tank in Tiananmen Square in China. The tank is powered by intellectual lethargy, moral turpitude and an uncontained malice for the freedom and independence that made the country possible and great. Its purpose is to crush anyone who refuses to get out of its way.

Hope? Change? A new direction? Suppose one doesn’t want to go in a “new direction” or see the country go in it? Suppose the change one hopes for is the banishment of government and others from one’s life, from the economy, from education? Suppose one knows that the only way one can be taken in a new direction is by deception, theft and force?

The Democratic convention in Denver last week presented the latest model tank which the collectivists plan to deploy in the country. Call it the Obliterator.

A succession of speakers, every one of them adopting the tone of an abrasive locker room pep talk instead of a political address, ranted from a podium on what looked like the topside of a blue Klingon warship – blue, one supposes, for Blue States – incongruously grafted to the façade of a Roman temple, doubtless intended to evoke Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I have a dream” speech on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial forty-five years ago. The parade of blowhards, most of whom combined secular collectivist sentiments with religious altruist ones, complete with quotations from the Bible, was climaxed by the appearance of Barack Obama, who on the evening of August 28 gave his acceptance speech as the Democratic nominee for President to a mass of worshipping, weeping, belief-crazed Obama cultists.

From beginning to end, the Democratic convention that ended with his appearance was more like a vaudeville show – “a series of acts,” as one admiring commentator told the PBS anchor – imbued with the hysterical spirit of an evangelical tent meeting, in which all the attendees were united in an unreasoning, emotional Gestalt to hail the Messiah (or the Mahdi, the “expected one,” to put an Islamic twist on the event). One half expected the 80,000-plus audience to rise as one and do the “wave,” the American equivalent of the Nazi salute. To assure themselves that Obama is truly the “people’s choice,” the Democrats filled Invesco Field with a mob of the faithful to create the illusion that Obama would address not merely a hall full of party hacks, state delegates and their whips, and vote manipulators, but the whole American electorate.

The New York Times, in an adulatory story on Obama’s acceptance speech, “Obama Takes the Fight to McCain” (August 29) remarked with brazen insouciance that the speech

…came on a night that offered – by the coincidence of scheduling – a reminder of the historic nature of the Obama candidacy: 45 years to the day after Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his ‘I Have a Dream’ speech on the Mall in Washington.”

A coincidence of scheduling? There was nothing coincidental about it. The anniversary was a planned part of the Obama extravaganza to lend it “historical” significance, and perhaps even substance.

Viewers on any of the news programs covering the Democratic convention in Denver were constantly and solemnly reminded by news anchors that “history” was being made because an African-American or an American black was for the first time a major presidential candidate. Well, history of a sort was made, but not the kind that will be much dwelt on. The chief history-making event is that Obama is a fraud and that no one in the political arena, not his presidential rival, John McCain, nor anyone in the news media, has had the moral courage to call him on it or to even hint at it.

Obama is a fraud because he is neither “African-American” nor black nor the presumed descendent of African slaves, but basically Arab and more likely a descendent of African slavers or slaveholders. His parents were a communist white woman and a communist Kenyan. It is beyond the bounds of credibility to assume that any Kenyan blacks were transported across the African continent to its west coast to be sold to white slavers. Kenya, after all, is on the Indian Ocean, which, in the heyday of slave trading, was an Arab sea. And Obama’s father is more likely the descendent of blacks who raided villages in the interior for captives to sell to Arab slavers. A little investigative reporting would turn up these facts and hypotheses, but no nationally known journalist will risk the effort, lest the truth burst his balloon of faith or he is answered with charges of prejudice.

Obama’s race, however, is immaterial. One judges an individual by the contents of his mind, by his values, by the conduct of his life. But Obama from the beginning has angled for the “black vote” and the vote of guilt-ridden whites. Thus, the charade. This is worse than mere dishonesty. It is a fraud being perpetrated on an entire country in the guise of “racial justice.”

Much has been made during the presidential campaign of the candidates’ experience or lack of it, in both domestic and foreign affairs. This is a straw man. True, any one of the other candidates had greater congressional and political experience. Obama had a comparably short stint in the Illinois senate and 173 days as a U.S. Senator. But of what value is there in it in any of the candidates? Has it ever been defined? And what has all that experience garnered the country, except an incremental progress towards statism and a steady dwindling of individual freedom?

Further, not a single candidate lacks experience in corruption, venality, malfeasance, concession, logrolling, compromise, theft, and a multitude of other misdemeanors. Obama is not the stainless prophet ready to lead the country in a “new direction.” He is as guilty as any of the rest of them.

John McCain is an enemy of freedom of speech. His campaign finance law has made it more difficult for any one to oppose the collectivist policies that his alleged opponents “across the aisle” regularly propose. Barack Obama, for his part, has twice now, as far as it is known, attempted to suppress the truth about his past political associations, chiefly his comradeship with William Ayers, the Weatherman “radical” who bombed the Capitol building long before Obama would spend so little time in it. It is appropriate that Obama’s political career – one that advocates the use of government force in every sphere – was launched in the home of a retired and unrepentant terrorist.

Obama likes to chide Senator John McCain for his lack of vision, possibly for his age, and for wanting to continue Bush’s domestic and foreign policies. But one has never heard Obama thank McCain for having sponsored the McCain-Feingold campaign finance law, which Obama is attempting to use to censor or intimidate anyone who raises the matter of his extremely questionable political background.

What all the candidates seem to have lacked are any commitment to freedom, and the integrity to proclaim it and act on it. But, it would be an error to think that. Neither the Democratic nor the Republican Party is a friend of those things. In point of fact, both parties are committed enemies of freedom. Whether McCain or Obama wins the White House in November, there would be no “change” and no “new direction,” but more of the same movement in the same direction, which is statism. The only difference between the candidates is the preferred rate of acceleration in that direction.

What Are Their Names? 2 Deaths In Chemical Incident In St. Louis

I got batted around a little bit last night for jumping to the conclusion that this was a terror-related incident. I don't blame people for saying I'm jumping to conclusions. Because, I am.

I have a hair-trigger on this stuff, because we have been lied to quite a bit lately. Just within the last week, we have learned that the Denver Police ruled a suicide in the case of an indigent man who was found dead after being holed up for six days in a posh hotel with a pound of cyanide. That's an elaborate way for a homeless man to kill himself, don't you think?

Yet, the Denver Police ruled that it was NOT TERROR-RELATED. And, as far as I know, the FBI is not investigating the incident.

And then, just a couple days later, we find that an Egyptian man on Long Island, was building and testing an unmanned drone aircraft, designed to carry a 600 lb. payload.

Once again, that incident was ruled to be NOT TERROR-RELATED.

So yes, I have a hair-trigger. And, it looks like I may have been right in this case as well.

Thanks to Reliapundit over at the Astute Bloggers for sending this over to me:

AP: 2 dead from chemical exposure at plant in Ill.

Two people have died after exposure to a dangerous chemical at a storage and mixing plant, a city official said Sunday.

At least eight people were sickened by exposure to the chemical on Saturday, and emergency rooms were quarantined at two St. Louis hospitals where those people sought treatment.

In a statement issued early Sunday, East St. Louis City Manager Robert Betts said two people had died.

The chemical was released when a barrel was dropped at the Ro-Corp. plant. The lid popped off the barrel and a white powder came out, said Fire Chief Jim Silvernail from Mehlville, Mo.

"It's like what would happen if you drop flour — it got all over them," Silvernail said.

The eight men who were at the plant sought treatment at several hospitals in the area, with some of them driving themselves, officials said.

Betts told KSDK-TV in St. Louis that the FBI would investigate because of the nature of the exposure. He said it wasn't certain that the employees had permission to be at the company on a Saturday.

Nitro Compounds Any of a class of chemical compounds in which the nitro group (-NO2) forms part of the molecular structure. The most common examples are organic compounds, isomers of nitrite esters in which a carbon atom is linked by a covalent bond to the nitro group's nitrogen atom.

Many nitro compounds are commercially used as explosives solvents, or raw materials and chemical intermediates. They are generally made by a reaction between nitric acid and an organic compound.

about the chemical involved
The compound is toxic by way of inhalation, ingestion, and absorption, and should be handled with care. Its LD50 in rats is 750 mg/kg when administered orally.

From Reliapundit at the Astute Bloggers:

US intelligence is concerned Moscow will supply the S-300 anti-aircraft-missile system to Iran if Washington pushes through NATO membership for Georgia and Ukraine, the Telegraph reported Sunday.

The S-300 is one of the most advanced multi-target anti-aircraft-missile systems in the world today and has a reported ability to track up to 100 targets simultaneously while engaging up to 12 at the same time. It has a range of about 200 kilometers and can hit targets at altitudes of 27,000 meters.

Iran's acquisition of the system would vastly upgrade Iranian defenses against any air strike on its nuclear sites, Pentagon adviser Dan Goure was quoted by the British newspaper as saying. "This is a system that scares every Western air force," he added.

"If Teheran obtained the S-300, it would be a game-changer in military thinking for tackling Iran. That could be a catalyst for Israeli air attacks before it's operational," he said.

The Tale of The Arab Flight Crew

This Would Be Funny, If It Weren't So Serious

The brand spanking new Airbus 340-600, the largest passenger airplane ever built, sat in its hangar in Toulouse, France without a single hour of airtime. Enter the Arab flight crew of Abu Dhabi Aircraft Technologies (ADAT) to conduct pre-delivery tests on the ground, such as engine runups, prior to delivery to Etihad Airways in Abu Dhabi. The date was November 15, 2007.

The ADAT crew taxied the A340-600 to the run-up area. Then they took all four engines to takeoff power with a virtually empty aircraft.

Not having read the run-up manuals, they had no clue just how light an empty A340-600 really is.

The takeoff warning horn was blaring away in the cockpit because they had all 4 engines at full power. The aircraft computers thought they were trying to takeoff but it had not been configured properly (flaps/slats, etc.)

Then one of the ADAT crew decided to pull the circuit breaker on the Ground Proximity Sensor to silence the alarm.

This fools the aircraft into thinking it is in the air.The computers automatically released all the brakes and set the aircraft rocketing forward. The ADAT crew had no idea that this is a safety feature so that pilots can't land with the brakes on.

Not one member of the seven-man Arab crew was smart enough to throttle back the engines from their max power setting, so the $80 million brand-new aircraft crashed into a blast barrier, totaling it.

The extent of injuries to the crew is unknown, for there has been a news blackout in the major media in France and elsewhere. Coverage of the story was deemed insulting to Moslem Arabs. Finally, the photos are starting to leak out.

Maybe they didn't read the instruction manual, because Allah has provided them with everything they need in the Krayon and the Hadith.

Storm Track Appeasement: France Realizes Its at War – Surrender !!

Well, it must be a real war in Afghanistan because the French majority want to surrender to the Taliban.

FRENCH troops in Afghanistan suffered one of their worst military defeats since the Algerian war of independence, leaving President Nicolas Sarkozy facing one of the biggest crises of his political career as he came under attack for supporting Nato against the Taliban.

Amid an unprecedented display of national doubt and soul-searching, parliamentary hearings on the French role in Afghanistan were being scheduled to address growing public concern about young men being used as “cannon fodder” in a war against a seemingly invincible enemy.

Hmmm…Doesn’t history prove that all enemies of France are seemingly invincible?

Read the rest at The Gathering Storm.

PASTORIUS COMMENT: First, I hope WC doesn't mind me cutting in here, but I just have to say it:

" ... an unprecedented display of national doubt and soul-searching ..."

That ought to be a line in the French National Anthem.

Saudi Arabians Back Obama Because "Whites Side With Israel"

Obama is really locking up the endorsements. For instance, the people of Saudi Arabia overwhelmingly love Obama.

Good job, Moshiach.

From Gateway Pundit:

There is overwhelming support among Saudis and expatriates here in the Kingdom for Democratic candidate Barack Hussein Obama as the next US president.

A cross-section of both groups told Arab News yesterday that they wanted Obama to succeed George W. Bush. One Saudi said Obama was preferred because he is black while an expatriate felt his middle name suggested a willingness to tackle the contentious issues facing the Muslim world.

On Aug. 27, the Democratic Party nominated Obama as its presidential candidate and Joe Biden as his running mate. On the following day, Republican candidate John McCain picked Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate.

Some Saudis said the US elections were a non-event for them, as it had nothing to do with their day-to-day lives. “I really did not know there was a presidential election in the United States in the first place.

“Some believed Obama is a Muslim because of his middle name. All the blacks so far in power at various levels have shown their commitment and determination to serve the country and the world without discrimination of color and religion. However, the track record of whites has been to side with Israel rather than with Muslim countries. We now have a ray of hope in Obama. We expect him to solve the problems facing the Muslim world, including those in Iraq, Palestine and Kashmir. What has happened after Sept. 11, 2001, is that Muslims are being dubbed terrorists. We extend our support to Obama or anyone who will be able to solve problems related to the Muslim world,” said Yousuf.

Mega Mosque Gives Channel 4 the finger

Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, but when I look at this mosque, I see a giant "F-You, Kuffar!" just screaming from its minaret. I could be wrong,

But I'm not.

From the Daily Mail (with added snark in parentheses from moi.)
By Tom Harper

Hardline female ‘preachers of hate’ are radicalising Muslim women at one of Britain’s top mosques. (who says women can't preach? Light years ahead of the Baptists, I tells ya!)

The Saudi Arabian preachers were secretly filmed ordering women to murder gays and ex-Muslims. (Note to gays: walk away FAST from any woman approaching you in a hijab or burqa)

Undercover reporters from Channel 4’s Dispatches recorded the lectures in the women’s section of Regent’s Park Mosque in London.

An unnamed Saudi woman is seen mocking other religions – labelling Christianity ‘vile’ and an ‘abomination’. Another, known as ‘Angelique’, claims Britain is a ‘land of evil’. (tell me, why then do you come here? Oh yes, for a better life. Remember to tell the authorities that when you apply for asylum)

The investigators attended lectures for two months at the mosque, which had promised a clean-up after another Dispatches probe just 18 months ago exposed it for spreading extreme Islamic views. (see picture above)

During one sermon, a woman called Um Amira says: ‘He is Muslim, and he gets out of Islam...what are we going to do? We kill him, kill, kill.’ (that's your answer to all lifes' problems, it seems)

In the programme, to be screened tomorrow, she adds that women adulterers should be stoned to death and people who have sex before marriage should get ‘100 lashes’. (Remember, girls: It ain't rape unless you have 4 male witnesses to agree with you)

Regent’s Park Mosque is one of the biggest and most prestigious Islamic institutions in the UK. Opened in 1944 by King George VI, it can hold up to 5,000 worshippers. (It can also hold up to 30,000 hand grenades, 1803 IEDs, 6 SAMs, 4 lashing chambers, 3 stoning pits, a preschool class on assembling and wearing a suicide bomb belt, and 173 Qassams)

After the 2007 Dispatches investigation, which also looked at mosques in Birmingham, West Midlands Police and the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) claimed Channel 4 had distorted sermons and tried to press charges. (the new down with crime tactic now being used by the British police: Prosecute victims of crime for slandering those who rob, beat, rape and violate them 7 ways from Friday)

But watchdog Ofcom dismissed their findings and Channel 4 won six-figure libel damages from the police and CPS. (Next time, there won't be a next time)

This time, Dispatches returned to Regent’s Park Mosque to find exactly the same extremist books on sale there and the female preachers spreading radical Wahhabi Islam. (No oppression of women, here. Go back to your lives, people)

One Saudi woman, who mocks other religions, says: ‘We feel nothing sometimes going past the church. What they say with their tongues is so vile and disgusting, it’s an abomination.’ (Things like, Love thy neighbor as thyself, and blessed are the peacemakers and their ilk)

Another female preacher, Um Saleem, says it ‘breaks her heart’ to see Muslims ‘working in banks, wearing short sleeves...and make-up’. (Invite them to Mosque on Friday, and lure them into the lashing booth for a quick 85 reminders of modesty)

The man in charge of the mosque, Dr Ahmed Al Dubayan, is Islamic Affairs attaché to the Saudi Embassy. Dispatches claims the mosque has links to the Saudi government, which it accuses of spending billions spreading the Wahhabi message. The Saudi Embassy denied this. (well of COURSE, they did!)

Dr Al Dubayan said he did not know the preachers in the documentary and claimed the mosque ‘does not support or condone extreme views’. (To quote another Dubbayan, George Dubya, that is: Islam is a religion of peace. Islam is a religion of peace)
Well, it seems that women are finally making progress in the Land of Happy Concubines. Nice to see that they are getting out of the house. Actually, they are able to take their 'houses' with them, since the tent is now a fashion MUST-HAVE! Welcome to the Dhimmicratic Kingdom of Londonistan!

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Apparently, this really is not related to terrorism. It seems to have been an industrial accident.

From the National Terror Alert website:

Eight to ten people are hospitalized around the St. Louis area after being exposed to some type of hazardous chemical or material. At least two people are very critical condition.

St. Anthony’s Hospital in South County and DePaul Hospital in West County both shut down their emergency rooms when victims showed up with blue skin.

FOX 2 has learned that victims have also been transported to Barnes Jewish Hospital, Saint Louis University Hospital and at least one more person was located at Gateway Regional Hospital in Granite City, Illinois.

Illinois Emergency Management Agency crews are in East St. Louis at a business where they believe the hazardous material was located.

Police, fire and EMS are at a business in the 600 block of 20th Street, near State.

The East St. Louis City Manager says those who came in contact with the chemical were the people in danger and that city residents do not need to be worried and will not be evacuated.

Officials believe the hospitalized individuals are employees of the business who were mixing the chemicals. They apparently dumped the chemicals in a dumpster.

A police officer who arrived on the scene got within 75 feet of the chemical and had to be decontaminated.

DePaul Hospital’s emergency room is expected to be lockdown for at least three more hours.
Some of the victims of the chemical accident were taken to Depaul Health Center and at one point the entire hospital was on lockdown.

When this first happened everybody was scrambling, police, firefighters, emts, hospital staff patients. But by Saturday night the initial vicitms were being cared for and everyone was released, except for a small group of employees and patients who made contact with the original victims.

As everything unfolded emotions were high. Invesitgators say three people walked into the emergency room after being exposed to a substance called nitro aniline.

They had multiple symptoms, including severe dizziness, and of the three victims, two were in critical condition, the other stable.

Nitroaniline Applications: 4-Nitroaniline is a starting material for the synthesis of Para Red, the first azo dye.

Now, here's the story as we presented it last night, as information was first coming in.

From Reliapundit at the Astute Bloggers:

Two St. Louis-area hospital emergency rooms are on lockdown after the
arrival of patients who appeared to be exposed to chemicals.Authorities say
three people arrived by car at St. Anthony's Hospital with health problems
caused by chemical exposure, apparently at an industrial area in East St. Louis,

Meanwhile, three other victims reportedly went to SSM DePaul Health
Center.Details of their conditions were not immediately known.

Authorities say the victims were exposed to a white powdery

About 20 people who were in the St. Anthony's ER were quarantined. People
were not being allowed to enter or leave the emergency room.

Pastorius comment: I have a feeling it's a WMD work-accident. No names are being released. That, more than likely, tells us all we need to know.

UPDATE: AOW comments,

From St. Anthony's web site:an unknown chemical exposure

I don't find any information at the DePaul Health Center.

UPDATE II: Sra. Scherzophrenic says,

Not terror related, not terror related, there's no place like Qom, there's no
place like Qom.

MORE UPDATES from Reliapundit:

Hazmat crews are investigating separate incidents at two area hospitals. Sources
say several people came into contact with a chemical and drove themselves to
DePaul and St. Anthony’s hospitals. Both emergency rooms were placed on lockdown
and ER patients were quarantined.

There is no word yet on the origin of the
chemical or the incident that sent the victims to the hospital.

The three people who entered St. Anthony's ER arrived together and had
respiratory problems, Silvernail said. Fire crews are trying to identify the
substance. About 20 who were exposed to the three are under quarantine.

At DePaul, where at least one individual exposed to the substance entered
the emergency department, the Pattonville Fire District has brought in its
portable decontamination unit to the hospital, said Jamie Newell, hospital

For a while, patients at St. Anthony's weren't allowed in or out. Brian
Ricker of St. Peters was visiting his brother-in-law when he was told not to

"We didn't know if it was a bomb. We didn't know if it was chemical. We
didn't know exactly what was going on," he said.

Jamie Newell, a spokeswoman for SSM DePaul Health Center in Bridgeton,
Missouri near St. Louis, said three men who "came in contact with a dangerous
substance" were admitted to the facility Saturday afternoon and that the
emergency department was put on lockdown shortly threafter.

The men were in fair condition and recovering, she said.

"Fifteen employees
and one patient had to be decontaminated as a precaution... but we don't believe
that anybody else has been harmed," Newell told AFP.

She said officials had
identified the substance, and though they had not publicly named it Newell said
it was not viral -- meaning a widespread airborne contamination was not

Local television station KMOV reported that two patients were in critical
condition at SSM DePaul Health Center but Newell denied the report.

KMOV reported that the cases were likely linked to people who were exposed
to a substance while rooting through a dumpster in East St. Louis.

News of the exposures emerged as Republican presidential hopeful John
McCain was preparing to fly to St. Louis
ahead of a rally on Sunday in nearby
O'Fallon, Missouri.

There is "no change of plans at this point" McCain spokeswoman Kimmie
Lipscomb told AFP.

Pastorius comment: Don't worry, it's just three very vague men. This is not terror-related.

I repeat, this is not terror-related.

Like I said last week, I'm considering changing the name of this blog to NOT TERROR-RELATED.

Because it seems like everything we talk about here is NOT TERROR-RELATED.

One Small Victory For Defenders of Freedom

As Muslim Student Association (MSA) chapters have become increasingly influential at universities and colleges around the country, critics have charged that it is a hate group that sympathizes with the international jihad and promulgates an anti-American and anti-Semitic ideology in its campus actions. In response, the MSA has claimed that it is merely another religious and cultural group similar to Hillel, a club for Jewish students, or the Newman Club for Catholics. That deception has been now unmasked at the University of Southern California, where the school’s Provost, Chrysostomos L. Max Nikias, reacting to a call from the David Horowitz Freedom Center and the Simon Wiesenthal Center, has ordered the campus MSA to remove a “despicable” hadith calling for Muslims to murder Jews as a condition for redemption from its website.

David Horowitz, President of the Freedom Center, hails this as a breakthrough moment when the double standards that control the political and intellectual culture of most universities have finally been challenged. “Up to now, the slightest criticism of radical Islam on campus has been slammed as ‘Islamophobia,’ while Muslim groups and their radical fellow travelers have been allowed to say the most hateful things imaginable about Christians and Jews without any reaction from university administrators whatsoever,” Horowitz says. “Provost Nikias has called the hadith on the MSA website for what it is: despicable. Given the atmosphere that prevails on most campuses today, it was an act of integrity on his part to make this call and to demand that the MSA live up to basic standards of civility that should govern the university.”

This is an example of what we will see more and more as we influence the people around us. The more widespread the understanding of the uniqueness of Islam, the easier it will be to refuse any concessions to Muslim encroachments.

Pakistani lawmaker defends honor killings

Tribesmen bury five women alive for wanting to choose their own husbands

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - A Pakistani lawmaker defended a decision by southwestern tribesmen to bury five women alive because they wanted to choose their own husbands, telling stunned members of Parliament this week to spare him their outrage.

"These are centuries-old traditions and I will continue to defend them," Israr Ullah Zehri, who represents Baluchistan province, said Saturday. "Only those who indulge in immoral acts should be afraid."

The women, three of whom were teenagers, were first shot and then thrown into a ditch.

New Israeli Movie debuts....Kiss Qom Goodbye and the sequel .. Iran warns any attack would start 'world war'

Report: Israel won't allow a nuclear Iran

Aug. 29, 2008 Staff , THE JERUSALEM POST

Israel will not allow Iran to attain nuclear capability and if time begins to run out, Jerusalem will not hesitate to take whatever means necessary to prevent Iran from achieving its nuclear goals, the government has recently decided in a special discussion.

According to the Israeli daily Ma'ariv, whether the United States and Western countries succeed in thwarting the Islamic Republic's nuclear ambitions diplomatically, through sanctions, or whether a US strike on Iran is eventually decided upon, Jerusalem has begun preparing for a separate, independent military strike.

Ephraim Sneh a veteran Labor MK who has recently left the party, has reportedly sent a document to both US presidential candidates, John McCain and Barack Obama. The eight-point document states that "there is no government in Jerusalem that would ever reconcile itself to a nuclear Iran. When it is clear Iran is on the verge of acquiring nuclear weapons, an Israeli military strike to prevent this will be seriously considered."

And in nearly Judenrein Europe....

According to Ma'ariv, Sneh offered the two candidates the "sane, cheap and the only option that does not necessitate bloodshed." To prevent Iran's nuclear aspirations, Sneh wrote, "real" sanctions applied by the US and Europe were necessary. A total embargo in spare parts for the oil industry and a total boycott of Iranian banks would promptly put an end to the regime, which is already pressured by a sloping economy and would be toppled by the Iranian people if they have outside assistance, he said.

The window of opportunity Sneh suggests is a year and a half to two years, until 2010.

Sneh also visited Switzerland and Austria last week in an attempt to lobby them against the Iranian threat. Both countries have announced massive long-term investments in Iranian gas and oil fields for the next decade.

"Talk of the Jewish Holocaust and Israel's security doesn't impress these guys," Sneh said wryly.

Hmmm, I just wonder why....but apparently they still just don't get it...

Hearing his hosts speak of their future investments, Sneh replied quietly "it's a shame, because Ido will light all this up." He was referring to Maj. Gen. Ido Nehushtan, the recently appointed IAF commander and the man most likely to be the one to orchestrate Israel's attack on Iran's nuclear facilities, should this become a necessity.

"Investing in Iran in 2008," Sneh told his Austrian hosts, "is like investing in the Krupp steelworks in 1938, it's a high risk investment." The Austrians, according to Sneh, turned pale.

Iran had increased the number of operating centrifuges at its uranium enrichment plant to 4,000.

Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Reza Sheikh Attar, who visited the Natanz plant last week, said that Iran was preparing to install even more centrifuges, though he did not offer a timeframe.

"Right now, nearly 4,000 centrifuges are operating at Natanz," Attar told the state news agency IRNA. "Currently, 3,000 other centrifuges are being installed."

Meanwhile, the pan-Arabic Al Kuds al Arabi reported Friday that Iran had equipped Hizbullah with longer range missiles than those it possessed before the Second Lebanon War and had also improved the guerrilla group's targeting capabilities.

According to the report, which The Jerusalem Post could not verify independently, Hizbullah was planning a massive rocket onslaught on targets reaching deep into Israel's civilian underbelly in case Israel launches an attack on Iran.

Iran warns any attack would start 'world war'
A senior Iranian military commander has warned that any US or Israeli attack on the Islamic republic would start a new world war, the state news agency IRNA reported on Saturday.

"Any aggression against Iran will start a world war," deputy chief of staff for defence publicity, Brigadier General Masoud Jazayeri, said in a statement carried by the agency.

Iran is under international pressure to halt uranium enrichment, a process which lies at the core of fears about Iran's nuclear programme as it can make nuclear fuel as well as the fissile core of an atom bomb.

"The unrestrained greed of the US leadership and global Zionism... is gradually leading the world to the edge of a precipice," Jazayeri said, citing the unrest in Afghanistan, Iraq, Sudan and Georgia.

"It is evident that if such a challenge occurs, the fake and artificial regimes will be eliminated before anything," he said, without naming any countries.

Iran does not recognise Israel, which is often described by officials in Tehran as a "fake regime."

The United States and its staunch ally Israel, the region's sole if undeclared nuclear armed nation, accuse Iran of seeking atomic weapons under the guise of a civilian nuclear programme.

Iran has vehemently denied the allegations, insisting its nuclear drive is aimed solely at providing electricity for a growing population when its reserves of fossil fuels run out.

The United States has never ruled out military action against Iran over its defiance of international demands for an enrichment freeze, but so far is pursuing the diplomatic route with calls for more sanctions.

Iran has repeatedly vowed a crushing response to any attacks and it has flexed military muscles in recent years by holding war games and showing off an array of home-grown weaponry and missiles.

Another top military commander said Iran was prepared to "take the enemies off-guard" and would unveil more weapons in case of an attack

PALIN VERSUS OBAMA: "She's done the stuff he's merely a poseur about."

From Reliapundit at the Astute Bloggers:

Governor Palin is not merely, as Jay describes her, "all-American", but hyper-American. What other country in the developed world produces beauty queens who hunt caribou and serve up a terrific moose stew?

As an immigrant, I'm not saying I came to the United States purely to meet chicks like that, but it was certainly high on my list of priorities.

And for the gun-totin' Miss Wasilla then to go on to become Governor while having five kids makes it an even more uniquely American story.

Next to her resume, a guy who's done nothing but serve in the phony-baloney job of "community organizer" and write multiple autobiographies looks like just another creepily self-absorbed lifelong member of the full-time political class that infests every advanced democracy....

Sarah Palin and Barack Obama are more or less the same age, but Governor Palin has run a state and a town and a commercial fishing operation, whereas (to reprise a famous line on the Rev Jackson) Senator Obama ain't run nothin' but his mouth. She's done the stuff he's merely a poseur about.

I posted this sentiment earlier - HERE.

Then there's this - also from NRO's The Corner:

The Bridge to Nowhere [David Freddoso]

Senator Obama voted for it.

Governor Palin killed the project.

Kremlin:Sorry, Ossetia isn't Bosnia after all, it's the SUDETENLAND

It's Ivan the Terrible, stupid

Kremlin announces that South Ossetia will join 'one united Russian state'

Russian soldiers adjust a Russian flag as they stand on their vehicle in the South Ossetian town of Tskhinvali

Tony Halpin in Moscow

The Kremlin moved swiftly to tighten its grip on Georgia's breakaway regions yesterday as South Ossetia announced that it would soon become part of Russia, which will open military bases in the province under an agreement to be signed on Tuesday.

When Putin said that the collapse of the USSR was the greatest calamity of the 20th century, I certainly didn't take him seriously enough. But where was the Bush administration, the steely eyed Texan? DUPED by looking dreamily into 'Pootey poots' eyes. As stupid on this as on not cleaning house after 9/11 at the CIA , FBI, and other advisory panels. FAILURES on critical issues.

So now what? Russia has said if we arm a nation which was in the process of becoming a NATO ally (Georgia) they would look on it as an act of war. Perhaps we should have been saying this of Iran to the Russians all along. This is the same principle they applied in the nuclear blackmail they have been applying to Poland, the Ukraine and anyone who thinks freedom offers a better model. To whom should this kind of decision be trusted?

One lesson is CERTAIN from this, AGAIN. Politics is determined by the result on the battlefield.

The second lesson is the Francis Fukuyama's main conclusions are ridiculous

These people should be armed. Our armed forces are going to have to grow. AGAIN. I cannot tell you the disgust I feel having come to the conclusion that we are now IN a cold war again with this latest anouncement, and that it was probably inevitable because of the outlook of Putin. This FACT is going to have some very serious ramifications in the war against radical islam and jihadism.

Yesterday, these guys tested their ICBM which is designed to attack through missile defenses.I have no idea whether or not it can, at this point, however I can tell you that the last ICBM we developed was in 1983, and it was totally retired from active deployment by 2005. They are about to test a brand new sub launched ICBM, as well .

There is a message in this. There is a message in Georgia. The sine wave of history has returned to zero. It is not in our control, but what we do is. Deterrence works. Time to deter. Deterrence kills no one. It instills caution into the international system.

Tarzan Kokoity, the province's Deputy Speaker of parliament, announced that South Ossetia would be absorbed into Russia soon so that its people could live in "one united Russian state" with their ethnic kin in North Ossetia.

The declaration came only three days after Russia defied international criticism and recognised South Ossetia and Georgia's other separatist region of Abkhazia as independent states. Eduard Kokoity, South Ossetia's leader, agreed that it would form part of Russia within "several years" during talks with Dmitri Medvedev, the Russian President, in Moscow.

The disclosure will expose Russia to accusations that it is annexing land regarded internationally as part of Georgia. Until now, the Kremlin has insisted that its troops intervened solely to protect South Ossetia and Abkhazia from Georgian "aggression".

Interfax news quoted an unidentified Russian official as saying that Moscow also planned to establish two bases in Abkhazia. Sergei Shamba, Abkhazia's Foreign Minister, said that an agreement on military co-operation would be signed within a month.

Georgia announced that it was recalling all diplomatic staff from its embassy in Moscow in protest at the continued Russian occupation of its land in defiance of a ceasefire agreement brokered by President Sarkozy of France. The parliament in Tbilisi declared Abkhazia and South Ossetia to be under Russian occupation.

A letter from bonny Scotland

Couldn't resist sharing a letter with you today.

It appears in today's Scotsman, and it's from Anne Marie Keenan of Roshven in that fair land, appearing under the headline End the silence over Islam.

She wonders if she is alone in her disquiet about the Scottish government's courtship of the Scottish Islamic Foundation? She cites sharia credit cards, and how sharia treats women.

She asks why we are always so silent about creeping Islamisation. Well, she doesn't use that phrase, but that's what it amounts to.

We're being "effectively silenced" she says, pleading for the debate to be brought into the open.

The Perfect Stranger - Where Are Obama's Buddies?

Charles Krauthammer, at the Washington Post, poses a very good question. Why is it Obama seems to have no friends?

Barack Obama is an immensely talented man whose talents have been largely devoted to crafting, and chronicling, his own life. Not things. Not ideas. Not institutions. But himself.

Nothing wrong or even terribly odd about that, except that he is laying claim to the job of crafting the coming history of the United States. A leap of such audacity is odd. The air of unease at the Democratic convention this week was not just a result of the Clinton psychodrama. The deeper anxiety was that the party was nominating a man of many gifts but precious few accomplishments -- bearing even fewer witnesses.

When John Kerry was introduced at his convention four years ago, an honor guard of a dozen mates from his Vietnam days surrounded him on the podium attesting to his character and readiness to lead. Such personal testimonials are the norm. The roster of fellow soldiers or fellow senators who could from personal experience vouch for John McCain is rather long. At a less partisan date in the calendar, that roster might even include Democrats Russ Feingold and Edward Kennedy, with whom John McCain has worked to fashion important legislation.

Eerily missing at the Democratic convention this year were people of stature who were seriously involved at some point in Obama's life standing up to say: I know Barack Obama. I've been with Barack Obama. We've toiled/endured together. You can trust him. I do.

Hillary Clinton could have said something like that. She and Obama had, after all, engaged in a historic, utterly compelling contest for the nomination. During her convention speech, you kept waiting for her to offer just one line of testimony: I have come to know this man, to admire this man, to see his character, his courage, his wisdom, his judgment. Whatever. Anything.

Instead, nothing.

Go read the whole thing.

McCain Picks Palin As Running Mate

This comes from the "Any American can rise to become President of the United States" Department.

From AP:

DENVER - John McCain tapped little-known Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to be his vice presidential running mate on Friday in a startling selection on the eve of the Republican National Convention.

In an announcement, the campaign said that Palin, who has been governor less than two years, "has the record of reform and bipartisanship that others can only speak of."

"Her experience in shaking up the status quo is exactly what is needed in Washington today," the campaign said. can National Convention.

Two senior campaign officials had disclosed McCain's decision a few hours before the Republican presidential nominee-to-be and his newly-minted running mate appeared at a rally in swing-state Ohio.

Palin, like McCain, is a conservative with a maverick streak who has shown a willingness to clash with others in her own party. A self-styled hockey mom and political reformer, she has been governor of her state less than two years.

Palin's selection shocked numerous Republican officials.

At 44, Palin is a generation younger that Sen. Joseph Biden of Delaware, who is Barack Obama's running mate on the Democratic ticket.

She is three years Obama's junior, as welland McCain has made much in recent weeks of Obama's relative lack of experience in foreign policy and defense matters.

In making his pick, McCain passed over several more prominent prospects who had figured in speculation for months — Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge among them.

Palin flew overnight to an airport in Ohio near Dayton, and even as she awaited her formal introduction, some aides said they had believed she was at home in Alaska.

She is a former mayor of Wasilla who became governor of her state in December, 2006 after ousting a governor of her own party in a primary and then dispatching a former governor in the general election.

More recently, she has come under the scrutiny of an investigation by the Republican-controlled legislature into the possibility that she ordered the dismissal of Alaska's public safety commissioner because he would not fire her former brother-in-law as a state trooper.

The timing of McCain's selection appeared designed to limit any political gain Obama yields from his own convention, which ended Thursday night with his nominating acceptance speech before an estimated 84,000 in Invesco Field in Colorado.

Public opinion polls show a close race between Obama and McCain, and with scarcely two months remaining until the election, neither contender can allow the other to jump out to a big post-convention lead.

McCain has had months to consider his choice, and has made it clear to reporters that one of his overriding goals was to avoid a situation like the one in 1988, when Dan Quayle was thrown into a national campaign with little preparation.

Palin has a long history of run-ins with the Alaska GOP hierarchy, giving her genuine maverick status and reformer credentials that could complement McCain's image.

Two years ago, she ousted the state's Republican incumbent governor, Frank Murkowski in the primary, despite having little money and little establishment backing.

She has also distanced herself from two senior Republican office-holders, sen. Ted Stevens and Rep. Don young. Both men are under federal corruption investigations.

She had earned stripes — and enmity — after Murkowski made her head of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission. From that post, she exposed ethical violations by the state GOP chairman, also a fellow commissioner.

She and her husband Todd Palin, have five children. The latest, a baby, was born with Down syndrome.

That's an interesting calculation on McCain's part; picking another "reach across the aisle" politician. The point is, I'm sure, that his position vs. the Obama-Biden ticket.

McCain now looks as if he really does want to heal the left/right rift which has opened up in our country.

Meanwhile, Obama, who has been giving lip-service to such a healing process, looks as if he is one of the most extremely partisan characters ever to run for President of the United States.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, she's a woman, and a bit of a hottie, huh?

Don't try to tell me you wouldn't do her, if you had the chance.

His country wants to hang him, and this could happen within the next few months. Sallah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury is a Bangladeshi journalist, publisher and peace activist who has left the fold of Jew hatred and Muslim supremacy that is infecting his country in recent years. Well, they didn't blame the jews, so that leaves only one person to blame - GEORGE BUSH

Moscow officials point to U.S. role behind Georgia's actions

Russian officials are blaming the United States for the conflict in Georgia, arguing that the United States has fanned the flames of the conflict and using the conflict for domestic political gain.

Some sources in Russia suggested that the U.S. backing for Tbilisi is part of a covert American plan to subvert Russia.

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin stated Aug. 11 that he was surprised by the "scale of cynicism" on the part of the United States, which in criticizing Russia and transporting Georgian troops from Iraq to Georgia was "passing off white as black and black as white." Putin accused U.S. diplomats of maintaining a "Cold War mentality" and viewing Georgian leader Mikheil Saakashvili as they had Nicaragua's Somoza: "An SOB, but our SOB."

We're back to 1955. The cleanly elected president of Georgia, portrayed by the KGB's children of dizinformaziya like Putin, as Somoza is a canard totally dependent on the Gus Hall, Cyndy Sheehan, Michael Mooore left of the USA jumping into jackbooted lockstep. Even I'm not so sure they are THAT DUMB (but you never know).

"Everything speaks to the lack of desire of official Tbilisi and Washington to settle the conflict. Otherwise why did U.S. military planes transport 800 Georgian servicemen with military hardware from Iraq to Georgia?" Deputy Chief of the General Staff Anatoly Nogovitsyn stated Aug. 12.

Uh,,,,,, to defend their homeland from ANOTHER Russian invasion

Russian U.N. Ambassador Vitaliy Churkin said Aug. 11 that "we know that Saakashvili has not distinguished himself recently by the appropriateness of his analysis and actions, and we would not like to think that he was given some order from Washington. We would like to hope that, possibly, we were talking about some sort of incorrect interpretation on the part of the president of Georgia of any signals that could have been sent from Washington."

One Russian Duma leader, Boriz Gryzlov said the war was "part of the Republican Party's election campaign."

Yes, the Russians are so dumb that we could provoke them to war so Bush could get McCain elected. Do they realize how idiotic they appear?

Former Russian Baltic Fleet Commander Eduard Baltin was quoted in Gazeta as

saying that the U.S. "decided to conquer the world in a consistent way -- economically, informationally, ideologically, and through military operations, most often by others' hands... The U.S. made [Georgia] into a nuisance-state for Russia."

We'll give up our nefarious plan to conquer the world for million dollars

Other commentators suggested that the Georgian conflict was a direct U.S. military probe at the Russian soft underbelly of the Caucasus.

British Comedian Insults Americans

NOTE: I moved this back up near to the top, because almost immediately after I posted it yesterday, it was taken off YouTube. Here's a new version.

The American contributors at IBA have been known to throw rhetorical bombs across the Atlantic at our European and British brothers.

So, just for the sake of balance (and, well, for the sake of a good laugh), let's sit back and watch while a British comedian gives us the working over.

Actually, Senator, you're not the party of FDR and you're not the party of Kennedy, and that IS the center of the issue

And I'm here to tell you you WON'T keep america safe.

It was FDR who authorized the mass bombing of enemy cities on two different continents, including some cities which belonged to our allies, and were filled with allied people.
Nantes, and L'Orient, for instance.
It was FDR who authorized Manhattan, a project he understood would slaughter thousands of civilians at a minimum, to protect our service men's lives.

It was Kennedy, who during the administration of Eisenhower campaigned on the existence of a missile gap with the USSR, who insisted on Titan, Atlas and Minuteman to correct what turned out to be a nonexistent defect in our arsenal.
It was Kennedy who began Vietnam, and saw to Diem and his brother.
It was Kennedy who blockaded an entire nation in a pure act of war to intimidate another power

All undertaken to protect the nation. We might argue their results, but not their intent.

And then your party became other.

It is your party which thought Ho Chi Minh was the head of the United Mine Workers of America and could be sent 'messages' via variable F-4 density employment, and bargained with while we bombed Vietnam day and night.

It was your party and Church Commission which ended any function the CIA might have which could have helped us effectively in Afghanistan, or in the Sudan, in the 90's

It was your party which did nothing while the ideology of the Wahabbis and Khomeinsts spread worldwide.

It was your party which cut off funds to Vietnam including the ability of our air force to simply HELP them.

It was your party which stood by in silence, inaction and fear as the Iran we know today came into existence

It was your party which was powerless as our people were taken captive there

It was your party in 1994 which signed the agreement with North Korea which gave them the time to develop their nuclear program in secret, while your party naively touted the treaty the NoKo's signed just for that purpose.

It was NOT your party or your policies which ended the cold war, it was the party and policies your party opposed bitterly and with sneering contempt.

It is your party which won't allow deployment, and will cut the funds for weapons which would protect our civilians and our cities, and harm no humans. And your party has backed this position since as long as can be remembered.

It is your party which is afraid to be disliked around the world, by people who hate, envy or simply don't understand us to begin with, if we act in our own interest.

It is your party which believes Al Qaeda is a figment of Afghanistan and the Northwest Territories and if that defect is corrected there, the effort is complete

It is your party and you who wants to go back to police investigations to jail organized international religious institutions which act in concert to kill americans en masse, and go back to the policies of the 90's which you lauded.

I am sorry Sen Obama, but you are not the party of FDR and Kennedy anymore, and you won't keep america safe.

A Good Place To Put Money

I thought this was a good use of funds. If nothing else, it produced some publicity for a good film. And who knows, maybe one of the democrats actually watched the film.
DENVER. A statement of issues and positions provided by the Democratic National Convention includes not a single reference to "radical Islam," and its only references to "Islam" are to an imam scheduled to speak and to identify Afghanistan as where the U.S. should be battling al-Qaida, since "the vast majority of Muslims believe in a future of peace, tolerance."

However, an organization has been flooding DNC delegates and Denver with copies of the video "Obsession" because members believe the threat to the U.S. is being dismissed or minimized, and the results – like those of Sept. 11, 2001 – could be catastrophic.

"The reaction has been everything from people who are upset with us and call us Islamophobes to a gay, Jewish delegate who's seen 'Obsession' and told us the Democrats aren't taking radical Islamic fundamentalists seriously," said Karen England, a spokeswoman for the group promoting the Watch Obsession website. (source: EuropeNews)
Sharing DVDs is one of the best ways to create the political conditions most amenable to stopping all concessions to Islam.

And then they came for us....

It is instructive that the Bauer letter over an ad which can be said only to have overreached, which followed successful intimidation to the Clinton and Edwards campaigns is instantly the precursor to the attempt to silence someone serious.

Stanley Kurtz, who writes for the National Review.

DENVER -- Sen. Barack Obama's campaign organized its supporters Wednesday night to confront Tribune-owned WGN-AM in Chicago for having a critic of the Illinois Democrat on its air.

"WGN radio is giving right-wing hatchet man Stanley Kurtz a forum to air his baseless, fear-mongering terrorist smears," Obama's campaign wrote in an e-mail to supporters. "He's currently scheduled to spend a solid two-hour block from 9:00 to 11:00 p.m. pushing lies, distortions, and manipulations about Barack and University of Illinois professor William Ayers."

And what do they show as proof that he is a hatchet man.. why he is tied to that other radical bomb thrower..... Bill Kristol !

Kurtz, a conservative writer, recently wrote an article for the National Review that looked at Obama's ties to Ayers, a former 1960s radical who later emerged as a school reform advocate in Chicago.

The magazine had been blocked in its initial attempts to obtain records from the University of Illinois at Chicago regarding a school reform initiative called the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, which Obama chaired and Ayers co-founded. Obama critics were quick to suggest that political clout could be involved in seeking to protect Obama from embarrassment. The school later reversed its position and made the records available Tuesday.

On Wednesday evening, Obama's campaign urged supporters to call the radio station to complain. "Tell WGN that by providing Kurtz with airtime, they are legitimizing baseless attacks from a smear-merchant and lowering the standards of political discourse," the note said.

"It is absolutely unacceptable that WGN would give a slimy character assassin like Kurtz time for his divisive, destructive ranting on our public airwaves," the note continued. "At the very least, they should offer sane, honest rebuttal to every one of Kurtz's lies."

I read that issue of National Review and there was absolutely NOTHING remarkable about the article.

Mr. Kurtz is a senior fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center, is a Harvard-educated social anthropologist and frequent contributor to National Review, among other publications. He is widely respected for his meticulous research and measured commentary. For months, he has been doing the job the mainstream media refuses to do: examining the background and public record of Barack Obama, the first-term senator Democrats are about to make their nominee for president despite the shallowness of his experience and achievement.

The Editors of the National Review have responded STRONGLY

The Obama campaign, whose leader has complained that we have done evil in the name of good in the middle east, has, in order to stop what they must consider to be damaging established a solid record of mob intimidation, real smears, and pure attacks on free speech, while demonstrating how unable they are to accept any kind of harsh criticism.

What will happen if these people achieve power?

And they have complained about a Bushitler?

Those senators so concerned about the FISA 'attacks' on the loud and vociferous, are they silently warning Mr, Obama right now about what he is doing? About the record he is making? In about an hour, Mr. Obama will be speaking to us about a better America of his making.

How can we accept Mr. Obama's speech as sincere, and look at him as if he really CARES about a better America, when those who question that sincerity and who he is, out of concern for the nation, are subject to such intimidation.
