OBAMACARE: 60% OPPOSE IT; 41 STATES WANT IT REPEALED; YET THE LEFT PUSHES ON: WHATEVER HAPPENED TO DEMOCRACY?

From the Astute Bloggers:
ARE THEY NUTS!?

YES.
  • IT'S NOT UNLIKE HOW THE EU ELITE FORCED THE LISBON TREATY DOWN THE THROATS OF EUROPEANS DESPITE THE FACT IT LOST IN THE ONLY TWO COUNTRIES WHICH HELD REFERENDUMS:
  • THE LEFTISTS ELITE THINK THEY KNOW WHAT'S BEST AND REALLY DON'T GIVE A CRAP ABOUT THE PEOPLE,
  • FOR THEM, DEMOCRACY IS A NICETY, USEFUL WHEN IT REINFORCES THEIR POLICIES AND UNNECESSARY WHEN IT DOESN'T.
THAT'S JUST TYRANNY. IT'S HOW THE LEFT HAS ALWAYS OPERATED:

THE LEFT BASICALLY BELIEVES THAT THE STATE HAS MORE OF A RIGHT TO THE FRUITS OF YOUR LABOR THAN YOU DO -

AND THEY BELIEVE THEY WILL MAKE SOCIETY AND THE ECONOMY BETTER BY GIVING THE FRUITS OF YOUR LABOR TO WHOMEVER THEY CHOOSE.

IT WILL NOT STAND - NOT ON PRINCIPLES, AND NOT IN THE MARKETPLACE, EITHER:
  • LEFTIST POLICIES ARE NOT A MORE FAIR WAY TO DISTRIBUTE GOODS OR SERVICES, AND THEY HAVE NEVER INCREASED VALUE OR PROSPERITY ANYWHERE.
  • IT IS MORE FAIR TO LET PEOPLE EARN THEIR OWN WAY, TO KEEP THE FRUITS OF THEIR OWN LABOR.
  • LEFTIST POLICIES ALWAYS DECREASE LIBERTY AND PROSPERITY AND ALWAYS MAKES THINGS WORSE.
  • IF LEFT-WING POLICIES WORKED, THEN THE USSR AND EAST GERMANY AND RED CHINA AND NORTH KOREA AND CUBA AND ZIMBABWE WOULD BE PROSPEROUS UTOPIAS.
  • INSTEAD, THEY ARE PLACES THAT PEOPLE RISK THEIR LIVES TO LEAVE!
WE WILL TEACH THE LEFTISTS A LESSON IN THE COURTS - AND AT THE BALLOT BOX THIS NOVEMBER.

NY Times Tells Greece to Abandon Socialized Health Care

Of course ObamaCare will prove to be problematic and create (most likely, like technological advances also) just as many problems as it may intend to address. It's the nature of problems for which we have no pragmatic solutions, and in the eyes of many means that we really do not have a health care issue / problem.

However, to the extent that either side of the aisle has an interest in improving the health of its citizens and the health care provide, it is necessary to recognize two very fundamental issues:

1) The politicalization of the issue, or utilization of an ideological approach, will not result in an effective solution, because most human beings are not sufficiently self-motivated to pursue optimal health. It's just not going to happen, and an ideological approach does not advance the health agenda.

2) Because of our (minimum of) two party governmental system, ANY approach formulated will be ineffective because it is a moderate, piecemeal, compromised approach to solving the problem. Imagine giving kids a vaccine which has been diluted, watered down, or adulterated with all sorts of ingredients not essential to attacking the disease.

Why do ANYTHING if it is not going to be effective? Why waste the time and the money pursuing goals through ineffective means?

This issue will NEVER be resolved by either side as long as people have freedom of choice. It's the nature of human beings.

As Dirty Harry once said, "A man (or humankind) has to know his (or its) limitations.

Why should government do anything about it?

Should the government put food on your table?

It's about emotionally-driven beliefs, not rationality or democracy. The elitist politicians that passed through this legislation know very well that the greater public is against them, but they move forward because they believe they know what's best for all. You can see a smaller example of this in California in how its legislators are going well out of their way to pass environmental laws that gradually bankrupt cities (L.A. and the entire state of California are already bankrupt), destroy manufacturing, and cause inconveniences and higher taxes for all Californians. Healthcare and the environment have become something of a religion to these holier-than-thou elitist goons.

I can't wait to watch the Lakers grind the Suns to dust. Those chickenshit Suns, with their "Los Suns" jerseys, protesting a law that 71% of Arizonans want.

You know PC has gotten out of hand when friggin' athletes have joined with "elites" to tell the normal guy how stupid he is.

Hopefully we'll have more Lakers fans appearing at the Suns games. At least Jerry Buss and the rest of the Lakers organization know well enough to stay the hell away from political issues. I still want the Lakers to give the Suns a beating for the 2006 and 2007 playoffs. ;-)

Yeah, there's that too.
