BREAKING: Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent Strikes Breakthrough Trade Deal with China

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has reportedly secured a significant trade agreement with China, signaling a potential end to the protracted tariff war between the two economic powerhouses.

Over the weekend, high-level talks were held in Geneva between Secretary Bessent, U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, and Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng.

Saturday’s meetings lasted eight hours. At one point, the Chinese took a break, but talks resumed shortly afterward. The talks resume on Sunday.

Trump wrote on Truth Social Saturday, “A very good meeting today with China, in Switzerland. Many things discussed, much agreed to. A total reset negotiated in a friendly, but constructive, manner. We want to see, for the good of both China and the U.S., an opening up of China to American business. GREAT PROGRESS MADE!!!”

The discussions aimed to address the escalating trade war, which has seen the U.S. impose tariffs as high as 145% on Chinese goods, with China retaliating with 125% tariffs on American products.

Following the second meeting on Sunday, Secretary Bessent stated that substantial progress had been made, and both sides described the discussions as productive.

While specific details of the agreement have not been disclosed, officials indicated that further information would be released on Monday.

It looks to me as if both Casey Means and Calley Means have been sent to us by scarier interests than the CIA. 

Silicon Valley is scarier than any government agency, and far more powerful. The Means siblings, I maintain, are representing Silicon Valley’s interests, and not ours. 

I said — and again, I stand by every word — that they both appear to be tasked with representing Big Tech’s interests in the rush to exploit the gold mine that is the pristine, valuable data — especially our private medical data - that is currently held behind secure doors by the United States Government.

I made this point in my February 12 2025 essay about what I saw as Elon Musk’s targeting of our data at that time. The essay was titled “The Sack of Rome.” I warned then that Musk and other Silicon Valley oligarchs were after this data, and that President Trump’s team did not seem to understand the grave and irrevocable risks this mission represented. 

I knew then, from my own experience as a tech CEO, that Musk would certainly use his own AI or code (and not only our sovereign government-owned AI) on our datasets. He did, one month later. I knew then that Musk’s team would seek to merge the datasets of multiple agencies (as they sought to do, later). 

Anyone who works with technologists would know that these dangerous, destructive actions would be inevitable, because of the value to Musk’s AI that training it on our datasets represents, and because of the value to Musk’s ability to create an “everything app”, that merging datasets from multiple agencies, would represent. 

I warned in that essay, and also on Bannon’s War Room podcast, that the Trump administration was facing a catastrophic security risk, via Musk seeking out email communications from national security and intelligence agencies about “five things I did this week.” I knew that Musk’s goal was to create a database of those emails. Those communications, I warned, could be machine-read and turned into a non-secure non-internal database containing our nation’s most important intelligence projects. I may well have been right: “Three sources with “knowledge of the system” reported to NBC that the responses are fed into a Large Language Model to determine “whether someone’s work is mission critical or not.”’ 

In at least two cases, DOGE has either rewritten its own code into government AI, or it has hosted sensitive government funding activity on a third party — Microsoft — platform. 

I warned on WarRoom about the terrible national security risk represented by the administration using any third party platform. I was worried then about Musk’s AI, and about Musk having fired those US government technologists whose job would be to warn about the dangers to national, and to information, security, from what Musk was doing. 

A month later, the Signal scandal broke — and our vital national security secrets, including details communicated by Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth about the timing of a military strike in Yemen — were all over…. a third party digital platform. 

How could the administration have been protected from these appalling security breaches? A third of the US Digital Service tech experts, the ones who would have understood cybersecurity breaches, had been fired via an anonymous email; 21 others resigned, in a letter to the White House on February 25 2025, that blisteringly warned that the data of the United States Government could no longer be secured: 

“DOGE’s actions — firing technical experts, mishandling sensitive data, and breaking critical systems — contradict their stated mission of “modernizing Federal technology and software to maximize governmental efficiency and productivity,” the letter states. “These actions are not compatible with the mission we joined the United States Digital Service to carry out: to deliver better services to the American people through technology and design. […]

We will not use our skills as technologists to compromise core government systems, jeopardize Americans’ sensitive data, or dismantle critical public services,” the letter stated. “We will not lend our expertise to carry out or legitimize DOGE’s actions.”’ 

The US government technologists who had been let go, or who had resigned, would have been the ones to warn the administration that Signal was not secure. Once the technologists were gone, it was DOGE who should have been the ones to warn Musk’s non-technical colleagues that Signal was not secure. 

But — DOGE didn’t. 

Hm. 

This brings us to Casey Means.

Casey Means is a creation, in effect, of Silicon Valley, for the purposes, too, I argue, of plundering our government data, and of rerouting US health policy, to align with the interests of Big Tech; especially in the booming realm of biometrics. 

Let me now re-cite the sections of “The Sack of Rome,” that explain why data, especially biometric data, is so very valuable to Silicon Valley ...

The Trump Administration Appears to Have Negotiated a Ceasefire Between India and Pakistan

The situation between warring neighbors (and nuclear powers) India and Pakistan seemed to be devolving into an open war, as the two countries targeted military bases and exchanged missile and drone attacks.

This military conflict arose after a deadly terrorist attack on tourists in the disputed Kashmir region, raising concerns of a full-blown military confrontation between the two nations that have Historically had a tumultuous relationship, marked by multiple conflicts since their partition in 1947.

But the efforts by the US Donald J. Trump administration have made a difference: after a full night of negotiations mediated by Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, a ceasefire has been achieved.

After the US is got involved in de-escalation efforts, a seemingly-coordinated messaging started to appear from India and Pakistan, followed now by this sensational breakthrough.

Google Hit with Historic $1.375 Billion Settlement for Secretly Tracking People’s Movements, Private Searches, Voiceprints, and Facial Data

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has delivered a knockout punch to Google, securing a record-shattering $1.375 billion settlement for the Big Tech’s covert surveillance of everyday Americans.

This staggering sum is nearly a billion dollars more than what 40 states combined were able to wring from Google for similar offenses — a testament to Paxton’s unrelenting crusade against Big Tech tyranny.

In 2022, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has filed a 44-page lawsuit against Google, accusing the multibillion-dollar corporation of “systematically misleading” and “deceiving” Texans for years in order to secretly track their every move — and rake in obscene profits from it.

The lawsuit lays out a damning case against Google, alleging that the tech behemoth “covertly harvested” users’ precise geolocation data, voiceprints, and even facial geometry — all while leading users to believe they had turned off such invasive tracking.

According to the lawsuit, Google duped its users by creating a maze of confusing and misleading settings, falsely telling Texans they could protect their privacy by turning off features like “Location History.” But in reality, Google was still logging user data using obscure and hard-to-find settings like “Web & App Activity,” storing data in shadowy internal databases with Orwellian names like “Footprints.”

The lawsuit outlines that the data harvested by Google could reveal:

• Home and work addresses
• Political and religious affiliations
• Medical conditions and support group attendance
• Sexual orientation and income level
• Life milestones like marriage, divorce, or childbirth

Even with location services “turned off,” Google reportedly continued to track users through Wi-Fi signals, Bluetooth, and IP addresses, deceiving consumers and violating their right to privacy.

Intelligence Assessment: The Marxist Revolutionary Government of Venezuela Is Helping Tren de Aragua Gang Members Invade the US

A newly released intelligence assessment has found that some Venezuelan government officials "facilitated" the illegal migration of members of the brutal Venezuelan criminal gang Tren De Aragua into the United States "to advance what they see as the Maduro regime's goal of destabilizing governments and undermining public safety."

However, while Venezuela's "permissive environment enables TDA to operate... the Maduro regime probably is not systematically directing Venezuelan outflows, such as to sow chaos in receiving countries," says the April memo from the National Intelligence Council, released Monday by the ODNI.

The memo waters down an earlier FBI assessment that the regime of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro is specifically directing TdA activities in the U.S.

But an ODNI source says that the bureau's intelligence is the most "robust and accurate given their focus on domestic security and crimes, versus limited intelligence assessments from other intelligence elements who by law focus solely on foreign intelligence collection, and who until President Trump took office, had very limited resources focused on TdA."

The Department of Homeland Security has identified more than 600 Venezuelan migrants in the U.S. with likely ties to TdA who crossed the border illegally during Joe Biden's presidency.

"From 2021 to 2024 there was a spike in Venezuelan encounters at the US-Mexico border, in which some TDA members could have been present as they have generally moved with Venezuelan migrant communities and profit from human trafficking and migrant smuggling," says the IC assessment.

The Venezuelan government gives sanctuary to TdA, "aiding and abetting their crimes and terrorist activities against the United States by enabling them to thrive."

The IC assessment cites US law enforcement reports that members of the Maduro regime, including Diosdado Cabello, Minister of the Interior, and former Venezuelan Minister of Penitentiaries Iris Varela, "have cooperated with TDA by providing financial or materiel support, but we cannot verify the sources' access."

American Manufacturers Are Enjoying a Bonanza of Orders for US-Made Products

American manufacturers are seeing a surge in demand as President Donald Trump's tariffs force companies to reconsider doing business in China.

Trump's tariffs, including a 145% levy on Chinese goods, are causing American-made products to be more competitive in the market. As a result, many small and medium manufacturers are experiencing a surge in demand and are preparing to ramp up production and hire new workers.

Jergens Inc., a midwestern toolmaker with less than 500 employees, says it's "going like gangbusters" trying to keep up with demand, The Wall Street Journal reported. They are seeing an influx of orders from customers trying to avoid import tariffs, along with steady defense-related demand.

"We are running 24 hours a day, seven days a week" said Jergens president Jack Schron, according to the Journal. "We are swamped."

Grand River Rubber & Plastics, a plastics and rubber manufacturer in Ohio, says customers that once offshored to China are reversing course, the Journal noted. Two buyers who left years ago returned within days of each other and two new oil filter manufacturers have already placed orders. The company's new business could amount to $5 million annually, roughly 10% of Grand River's revenue.

The spike in new business reported by many American manufacturers coincides with a sharp decrease in Chinese manufacturing. When Trump announced the tariffs last month, he predicted American businesses and consumers would both benefit.

"Jobs and factories will come roaring back into our country, and you see it happening already. We will supercharge our domestic industrial base," Trump has said. "We will pry open foreign markets and break down foreign trade barriers. And ultimately, more production at home will mean stronger competition and lower prices for consumers."

Even as the president insists prices will fall, economists and politicians warn his tariffs could sharply raise costs for American consumers, CNBC reported. However, executives at SafeSource Direct, a Louisiana-based medical products manufacturer, say prices are likely to decline as domestic production ramps up, according to the Journal.

SafeSource recently increased the number of production lines from two to eight, each making over 20,000 rubber gloves an hour. As new operations become more efficient, they expect costs to decrease significantly.

"We think we can get extremely close to Asian prices," said Steve Mott, a partner with the company, as reported by the Journal.

The program was sponsored by the University of Colorado at Boulder, the state's flagship public university, as well as a taxpayer-funded clinic.  Amid pubic outcry, this camp is now canceled.  A local (left-wing) news organization bemoaned the cancellation, attributing it to "right-wing" outrage.  So many of the details nonchalantly shared in the story are damning, requiring little to no additional commentary:

A free sex education summer camp for 5th-8th grade students hosted by Boulder Valley Health Center and CU Boulder’s Renée Crown Wellness Institute has been canceled due to safety concerns, according to the health center. National conservative media outlets and advocacy groups — including Libs of TikTok, Steve Bannon’s War Room, the Daily Caller, Newsmax and Moms for Liberty — began calling for the camp’s closure last week after it started circulating on social media...The camp’s pre-registration materials said the program aimed to offer comprehensive, age-appropriate sex education that most students don’t receive in schools. Topics included “sex, sexuality, power and justice,” “bodies beyond the binary,” consent, relationships and pleasure...The camp was scheduled to be held on CU Boulder’s campus. Boulder Valley Health Center — the program’s operator — provides gynecologic care, including abortions, and receives federal funding to offer low-cost contraceptive services, STI testing and other preventive care.

Acting FEMA Administrator Cameron Hamilton was abruptly removed from his post Thursday, just one day after publicly opposing the administration’s push to abolish the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Hamilton, a proud Trump supporter and former Navy SEAL who led FEMA since January, was reportedly escorted out of the agency’s headquarters after clashing with Trump and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi L. Noem’s vision to dismantle FEMA, according to sources cited by CNN.

An internal email reviewed by The Washington Post revealed that David Richardson, a Marine Corps veteran and assistant secretary for DHS’s Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Office, has been appointed to assume the duties of FEMA Administrator, effective immediately.

FEMA’s press office confirmed the move to POLITICO’s E&E News, stating plainly, “Cameron Hamilton is no longer serving in this capacity.”

The reason for his removal remains unclear, but it comes just one day after Hamilton testified before the House Appropriations Committee, where he firmly opposed eliminating FEMA — a stance that directly contradicts the position of President Trump and DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, both of whom have been pushing to return disaster preparedness and response to state and local control.

“As the senior adviser to the president on disasters and emergency management and to the secretary of homeland security, I do not believe it is in the best interest of the American people to eliminate the Federal Emergency Management Agency,” Hamilton said under questioning from Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-CT). “Having said that, I am not in a position to make decisions and impact outcomes.”

President Trump has been clear about his disdain for FEMA’s bloated operations, particularly after its lackluster response to Hurricane Helene in western North Carolina last year.

“I’ll also be signing an executive order to begin the process of fundamentally reforming and overhauling FEMA or maybe getting rid of FEMA,” Trump told the reporters during the press conference in January, vowing to transfer disaster response responsibilities to state governments.

“Frankly, FEMA is not good. I think when you have a problem like this, you want to go. Whether it’s a Democrat or Republican governor, you want to use your state to fix it and not waste time calling FEMA,” Trump added.
