Tortonto Imam: "Just The Possession Of Amonium Nitrate Does Not Prove They've Done Anything Wrong"

No, they may have needed 3,000 pounds of Amonium Nitrate because they were starting a very large farm. Yeah, that's it:

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario (AP) - The Royal Canadian Mounted Police itself delivered three tons of potential bomb-making material to a group that authorities said wanted to launch a string of attacks inspired by al-Qaida, according to a news report Sunday.

The Toronto Star said the sting unfolded when investigators delivered the ammonium nitrate to the group of Muslim Canadians, then moved in quickly on what officials called a homegrown terror ring.

The newspaper said that investigators learned of the group's alleged plan to bomb targets around Ontario, then controlled the sale and transport of the fertilizer.

Authorities refused to discuss the Star's story and have revealed few details of the purported plot, or how the sting developed.

Police arrested 12 adults, ages 19 to 43, and five suspects younger than 18 Friday and Saturday on charges including plotting attacks with explosives on Canadian targets.

The oldest, Qayyum Abdul Jamal, led prayers at a storefront mosque attended by some 40 to 50 families down the street from his home in a middle-class neighborhood of Mississauga, west of Toronto.

Imam Qamrul Khanson said the language of Jamal's Friday night prayers had a more aggressive tone than other prayer leaders', but there was never any talk of terrorism or violence.

Khanson said at least three of the suspects regularly prayed at the Al-Rahman Islamic Center for Islamic Education.

"Here we always preach peace and moderation," Khanson said at the one-room mosque.

"I have faith that they have done a thorough investigation," Khanson said of authorities. "But just the possession of ammonium nitrate doesn't prove that they have done anything wrong."

As stupid as the Imam's statement may sound, the slant of this Associated Press article shows the direction the Mainstream Media appears to be headed with this story, and they will eventually end up attempting to make the same point the Imam is making.

Think about it. Here, we are being told the Royal Canadian Mounted Police delivered the Amonium Nitrate to the wannabe terrorists, in a "sting" operation. In other words, the RCMP said, "You know, we can get 3,000 pounds of fertilizer for you. Do you want it?" And, the Muslim guys said, "Yes, please."

But, it was entrapment. Yes, that's right, etrapment.

You see, they didn't understand that Amonium Nitrate could be used as an explosive. And, even if they did, their purchase was purely theoretical in nature. In other words, they may have thought, possibly, they might want to blow up a building, or a stadium, but, they had not really decided to do so, when they made the purchase.

And, just the thought of blowing up a major structure full of people is not a crime in itself. No. It's a creative thought, protected by the Western right to Freedom of Conscience.

You know, Freedom of Conscience, don't you? You know, that right that we have been giving away en masse to Muslim who are so incredibly angry over cartoons.

You may think my analysis is silly, but watch in coming days as media people, lawyers, and politicians all make the very same point in more parsed language.

Open up and swallow the big lie, my friends.

Jihadist as Gnostic Religious Warrior

Laurent Musawiec describes the culture of nihilism that has gripped a major part of the Islamic world:

Contemporary jihad is not a matter of politics at all (of ‘occupation, of ‘grievances,’ of colonialism, neocolonialism, imperialism and Zionism), but a matter of Gnostic faith. … Inseparable from contemporary Arab-Muslim jihad are the idealization of blood, the veneration of savagery, the cult of killing, the worship of death. Gruesome murder, gory and gleeful infliction of pain, are lionized and proffered as models and exemplary actions pleasing to Allah. …

The accumulation of such deeds shows that they are not an epiphenomenon but are central to the purpose of the jihadi. They are aired 24/7 on TV channels such as al Jazeera and many others. They are avidly watched and celebrated, private and family screenings are arranged. Think of images and videofilms of assassinations, Daniel Pearl, Paul Johnson, ‘live’ killing for the viewing public. Perhaps the worst symbol of it all was the picture taken on Oct. 12, 2000 in Ramallah: a young man shows his red hands dipped in the blood of two murdered Israeli soldiers to an exultant Palestinian crowd. There is a public demand to meet the supply: snuff movies are served as identity markers. …

This is thanatolatry, martyropathology or nihilism: when an entire society orients itself in this direction, that society is becoming suicidal. A society that gears especially its young toward killing and actively seeking death, it is making choices that bring about its extinction. “We love death more than you love life.

The believers – here, the jihadis - are the Elect: they, and only they, know God’s plan for the world; they have been chosen by Him to fight and win the final, cosmic battle between God and Satan, and bring about perfection on earth, in this case, the extension of God’s writ and dominion, the dar al-Islam, to mankind as a whole.

Fastidious Stupidity - NY Times- "The 17 men were mainly of South Asian descent"

The NY Times on the plot and arrests in Canada this weekend:
MF_610-254746.jpg

The 17 men were mainly of South Asian descent and most were in their teens or early 20's. One of the men was 30 years old and the oldest was 43 years old, police officials said. None of them had any known affiliation with Al Qaeda.

"They represent the broad strata of our society," Mr. McDonell said. "Some are students, some are employed, some are unemployed."

The Times simply cannot grasp the issue, and if they could they cannot name it. They are genetically deprived of the objective realism required to say without fear or favor that which must be said.

These men were taught and preached to.

What were they taught? Who preached? Were they literally praying hate and violence? Let's find out

Leading EU-politicians: Islam must be an European religion

Said chairman of the EU-Comission Barroso and Bundeskanzler of Austria Wolfgang Schüssel tuesday.

Barroso warned against a marginalisation of European muslims. Islam is part of Europe: “we must speak of an European islam” he stressed.

“People from muslim faith must not be charged with the problem of having to choose between their faith and European values. Europe is big enough to incorporate Islam.”

France: "Go forth and stamp on their livers, soak the ground with their blood!"

The Religion of Peace spreads its message of peace and tolerance in France . Not.

'Stamp on their livers!'

(WND) A 40-minute videotape released last week by an al-Qaida leader living in France exhorted French Muslims to rise up and punish France for what Anas al Liby calls France's disrespect for Islam.

According to al Liby, the French deserve destruction for France's prohibition on religious symbols. He named in particular the wearing of head coverings for Islamic women involved with government or educational institutions. French soil, he declared, must be reduced to "an ocean of blood." This event will signal "the beginning of the end of Western Civilization."

Al Liby concluded that France's disrespect for Islam was another example of Western contempt for Islamic values, so it's now time to apply those Islamic values and burn the country to the ground.

A 40-minute videotape released last week by an al-Qaida leader living in France exhorted French Muslims to rise up and punish France for what Anas al Liby calls France's disrespect for Islam.

Why don't they throw him this vampire out of France? Why?

According to al Liby, the French deserve destruction for France's prohibition on religious symbols. He named in particular the wearing of head coverings for Islamic women involved with government or educational institutions. French soil, he declared, must be reduced to "an ocean of blood." This event will signal "the beginning of the end of Western Civilization."

Al Liby concluded that France's disrespect for Islam was another example of Western contempt for Islamic values, so it's now time to apply those Islamic values and burn the country to the ground.

Al Liby didn't stop with France. After rising up and reducing France to ashes, al Liby advised his followers to take the uprising to Norway and Denmark, who deserve punishment for allowing cartoon images of Muhammad to be published. He says the cartoons, which depicted Muhammad as the bloodthirsty founder of a violent religion that preaches hatred and jihad against infidels, were "offensive" to Muslims.

Speaking of "the prophet's perfect image," al Liby told his followers that the war against the West is no different than the war that Muhammad fought against unbelievers in his day.

Rumsfeld: Iran is a terrorist nation

Ahmadiniejad
New Evidence Against Iran -- findings of uranium enrichment at a military site increases the pressure

Rumsfeld: Iran is a terrorist nation
Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld told a gathering of defense experts yesterday that Iran was "one of the leading terrorist nations in the world."

What did The New York Times, Ahmadinnerjacket's own personal Pravda have to say? Waste of Times It's Just Like Iraq, Only Different - New York Times.

Iran is threatening once again, Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said that attempts to punish Tehran would jeopardize the world's oil supply. Who are they kidding? 80% of Iran's budget is oil. They can't live without us. We (the West) refine their oil. They ship crude, we ship them back oil they can use. They are so full of bullshit and bluster, it is eerily reminiscent of Saddam.

Condi Rice was on Fox News Sunday today with Chris Wallace. Salient points

Read the whole transcript here.

RICE: We will not allow Iran to drag this out. This really has to be settled not in a matter of months. This program has been moving along. But one reason, Chris, that you want to be sure that there's a suspension of the activity is that you don't want the negotiations to be used as a cover for continued progress along the nuclear front. And so this package is put together in a way that guards against a kind of extended set of negotiations while the Iranian program continues. It's also put together in a way that gives Iran a pretty clear choice of what choice it can make.

WALLACE: There are plenty of doubters about your new initiative, and I want you to take a look at this comment in a Wall Street Journal editorial this week. Here it is. "Perhaps the most dispiriting part of this new diplomacy is the signal it will send to Iran's internal opposition. The regime is wildly unpopular, but it will use this implicit U.S. recognition to show that it has earned new world respect."

Secretary Rice, by offering this regime a set of circumstances under which the U.S. will sit down, aren't you undercutting the popular opposition inside Iran?

RICE: Chris, in many ways, this is a natural follow-on. The decision to join the talks is a natural follow-on to the decision that the president took more than a year ago to fully and completely back the negotiations.

It was a time in which we ourselves said that we would make some steps like supporting Iran's right to an application to the WTO. That was a decision the president made over a year ago.

This is a natural follow-on because if the negotiations are going to succeed, if that track is going to have a chance for success, it's pretty obvious that the United States has to be at the table.

But what this is not is an offer of a grand bargain somehow with Iran. This is not an offer to let...

WALLACE: But if you're sitting down...

RICE: ... bygones be bygones and to forget the record of terrorism or the human rights...

WALLACE: But if you sit down with the regime — let's say they agree, and you sit down with the regime, you can't be trying to destabilize and overthrow them at the same time.

RICE: Chris, we are trying to change Iranian behavior here, behavior that would be quite dangerous to the international community, the acquisition of an Iranian nuclear weapon. We aren't confused or have no illusions about the nature of the Iranian regime.

England Can No Longer Fly Its Own Flag

No, really, it happens to lots of guys ... not!

Somebody get the British a vat of viagra, would you?

For Christ's sake:

Following warnings by extremist Islamic group al-Muhajiroun, in which the group said that the red cross in the England flag symbolizes the 'blood thirsty crusaders' and the occupation of Muslims, some of the largest companies in England have ordered their workers not to wave the flags.

The flag has recently appeared in England on everything from bikinis to cars, and sold in endless versions in stores. But the Islamic protest forced some corporations, such as cable companies NTL, Heathrow airport in London, and even the Drivers and Vehicles Licensing Agency to ban the flag in every form due to fears from reactions of Muslims.

The Sun tabloid newspaper has in recent days launched a campaign to bring back the flag, and has published a blacklist of companies preventing their workers from expressing their patriotism at work.

The Sun said that a large pub network has banned drinkers from entering with symbols of the national team. The hero of the day is a two year-old toddler, who was thrown out with his parents from Leicester, because he wore the England team's uniform.

Danish Prime Minister Eloquently Defends Western Civilization

When asked about the Mohammed Cartoon Jihad, instead of being a dhimmi, he stood up and told the truth and refused to back down. Thank God the West still has leaders like this:

"At the end of the day, this so-called 'crisis' was not about 12 cartoons. It was about the hidden agendas in the Muslim world, about fundamentalists and Islamists who wanted to take advantage of this to pursue their own agendas," he said.

Mr. Rasmussen said there were always limits on free speech, but that those limits could be defined only by the courts, not by an elected government.

"The Danish government could not interfere with a free and independent newspaper, whatever we may think or feel about the content," he said.

"My strong belief is that 12 cartoons cannot justify violence, the burning down of our embassies or threats against Danish citizens." Religion, he added, "cannot be exempted from the critical debate."

Just as the controversy was dying down, however, Mr. Rasmussen sparked a fresh domestic debate with criticism of those in Denmark who, he said, had been too willing to seek a compromise with intolerant extremists.

"Now we see who are the sheep and who are the goats," he told a Danish newspaper, the biblical imagery of his comments almost as startling as the content in this thoroughly secular society.

Mr. Rasmussen said he made the remark because "there were certain voices in Denmark that tended to advocate restrictions on freedom of speech."

He added: "I consider freedom of speech the most precious civic right we have. We cannot compromise on basic principles. We have to be firm on that."

A fastidious reluctance to enter into the sphere of religion

Has Great Britain imploded morally?

Today, a day after the arrests of a team of murderers who shared around their religion the living breathing application of 9:29 in the political realm, a day after their plot to kill 100's or 1000's via sarin nerve gas is uncovered, the BBC hosts a photo memorial to a dictatorial racist. A man who took his nation into misogyny unparalled at the time (but since copied), into the time machine of islam, into worse than the savak, the basij and pasdaran.

The BBC is a pathetic vestigial remains of those who stood for freedom in that land.

Britain is a land today that would rather blame america for being forced to face the unpleasantness of murderers within and without, than face the murderers. Britain today is a place that would rather lower the flag, than chance upsetting those who support the murderers.

Except it seems, for Melanie.

Two sides of liberals, then and now

Editor of the New Republic:

Harry Truman would have given terrorists hell

Truman,%20Harry.jpg
IN 1948, AMERICAN liberals went to war — with each other. The chief combatants were Henry A. Wallace, Franklin D. Roosevelt's former vice president and the most popular politician on the American left, and Harry S. Truman, Roosevelt's successor and a man widely derided as a party hack.

The issue was anti-communism and whether liberals should see it as a betrayal of their principles or as their natural culmination. For Wallace, liberals had one enemy: the reactionary right. For Truman, they had two: conservatives, to be sure, but also totalitarianism, in its communist as well as fascist guises. Liberalism, as Truman supporter Arthur Schlesinger famously put it, represented the "vital center" — defending social progress and individual freedom against tyrannies of both the right and left.

Liberals Need New Narrative That Takes Terrorism Seriously

John Leo

Peter Beinart thinks the left needs more anti-totalitarian liberals like Harry Truman and Scoop Jackson, and fewer anti-imperialist liberals (think moveon.org, Michael Moore and George Soros) who can't seem to take terrorism and the jihadist threat seriously. "The Good Fight," Beinart's new book, is a history of liberalism for his fellow liberals, and an insightful elaboration of arguments he made as editor of The New Republic.
moveon_protest.jpg
Henry Wallace, he believes, is the model for today's blame-America, soft-on-totalitarianism left that has cost the Democrats so dearly at the polls. When communists pushed Czech foreign minister Jan Masaryk out of a window in 1948, Wallace, America's leading progressive, thought it was America's fault. He said: "The Czechoslovakia story will repeat itself so long as our gun and dollar policies ... are continued." The modern Wallaceites feel the same way about jihadists. Moveon.org said: "The U.S. has become adept at creating monsters. Osama bin Laden is only the latest in a long line."

4 June 1942: Midway

On this day in 1942 the Imperial Japanese Navy lost four of its six fleet aircraft carriers along with their entire air groups. The Battle of Midway is considered one of the most decisive battles in world history. The sinking of the Akagi, Kaga, Soryu and Hiryu made the counter-offensive at Guadalcanal possible. The Marine landings on Guadalcanal caused the Japanese to shift their priorities to that island away from the New Guinea theater. That decision, in turn, enabled MacArthur to launch his offensive in Papua.

At Midway the US Navy lost the carrier Yorktown. The other two American carriers Enterprise and Hornet were not even scratched. The Hornet was sunk during the Guadalcanal campaign at the Battle of the Santa Cruz Islands on October, 26 1942. The Enterprise, which didn't seem to miss any battle in the Pacific, survived the war.

Sadly, The Big E did not survive the Truman and Eisenhower administrations. If you can believe it, she was scrapped in July 1958.

What Do You Do When Your Son's Arrested On Terror Charges?

You leave the country for a nice holiday :

The family of the young Muslim shot in a police anti-terror swoop flew abroad on a luxury family holiday last night - just hours after the raid on their home.

The mother and father of Abul Kahar Kalam, who was wounded in Friday's dawn operation to foil an alleged chemical weapons plot, went ahead with a planned break to the island of Mauritius.
Link...

Not suggesting that they were in on it, I just think it's a bit strange that their son, who they claim is completely innocent, has just been arrested under terror charges [and shot in the process], yet they don't deem that important enough to cancel their holiday.

Power Struggle in Iran - Elections for the Assembly of Experts, a joke?

rafsanjani.jpg
Yes folks, it's the liberals...under Rafsanjani:

"global arrogance, led by the U.S. and U.K.," is responsible for the crimes that the "artificial" state of Israel has been committing worldwide over the past half-century. If one day, the world of Islam comes to possess the weapons currently in Israel's possession [meaning nuclear weapons] - on that day this method of global arrogance would come to a dead end. This is because the use of a nuclear bomb in Israel will leave nothing on the ground, whereas it will only damage the world of Islam.

ns_mesbah_mkhact_01.jpgvs the conservatives under Yazdi:

"When the Entire World is Armed With Nuclear Weapons, it is Permissible to Use These Weapons as a Counter-[Measure]"

"The spiritual leaders of the extremist [circles in Iran] have accepted the use of nuclear weapons as lawful in the eyes of shari'a. Mohsen Gharavian, a disciple of [Ayatollah] Mesbah Yazdi [who is Iranian President Ahmadinejad's spiritual mentor], has spoken for the first time of using nuclear weapons as a counter-measure. He stated that 'in terms of shari'a, it all depends on the goal.'

All under Khameini:
More than Iran's enemies need artillery, guns and so forth, they need to spread cultural values that lead to moral corruption. They have said this many times. I recently read in the news that one of them, a senior official in an important American political center, said: "Instead of bombs, send them miniskirts." He is right. If they arouse sexual desires in any given country, if they spread unrestrained mixing of men and women, and if they lead youth to behavior to which they are naturally inclined by instincts, there will no longer be any need for artillery and guns against that nation.

Yes, we're ready to drop 50,000 chicks like that into Iran...LOOK OUT BELOW !

Sid Hindy Fart the Pog.

I might have done a bad thing. I posted some over-heated rhetoric about hanging Sid Vicious Ryan, president of CUPE, Canada's largest union, public employees; and I also wrote that 17 Muslims arrested in relation to terrorism in Toronto, Canada are rightly in jail. I was a fool. I was such a fool. A DAMNED FOOL!

WOW, did we [Dag] ever make a big mistake in our reportage. It turns out the Muslims are all innocent and so too is Sid Vicious Ryan. I hope they cut off my head. Good chance of it, actually.
****

Alvin Chand, brother of Toronto suspect Steven Vikash Chand, scoffed at the charges outside the courthouse as several officers held surveillance positions on surrounding rooftops and a helicopter circled.

"He's not a terrorist, come on, he's a Canadian citizen," Chand said of his brother. "The people that were arrested are good people. They go to the mosque. They go to school, go to college."

Aly Hindy, an imam at the Salaheddin Islamic Centre in east-end Toronto, said the centre's mosque had been monitored by security agencies for years. He said Muslims were once again being falsely accused.

"It's not terrorism. It could be some criminal activity with a few guys, that's all," said Hindy.

"We are the ones always accused."

[....]

The Canadian Council on American-Islamic Relations issued a release condemning terrorism "in all its forms" but also reminded that the accused are presumed innocent.

The father of accused Shareef Abdelhaleen, a 30-year-old computer programmer from nearby Mississauga, said the charges made no sense.

"I am shocked," said the Egyptian immigrant who came to Canada with his son 20 years ago and is an engineer on contract with Atomic Energy of Canada.

"It's crazy. It has no meaning whatsoever."

http://www.canada.com/topics/news/national/story.html?id=36682534-d857-46ce-a04d-2d9a94b23b33&k=43221&p=2

Well, I'm convinced!

And what about Sid Vicious Ryan of CUPE? He's a fookin' saint!

"CUPE boss explains reasons for boycott."

[....]

We have a history of supporting just causes at home and abroad. That is why our members, at their 2003 national convention, supported a resolution calling on the Israeli government to withdraw immediately from the occupied territories and to abide by the UN Resolution 242 and 338. As well, they agreed to actively work toward an end to all acts of violence that take the lives of innocent people, whether they be Palestinian or Israeli.

But they are frustrated with a government that continues to construct a wall that was declared illegal in 2004 by the International Court of Justice. They voted with many church congregations, a large number of organisations in Quebec and other unions around the world to support a boycott campaign against Israel.

[....]

National Post, June 3, 2006: p. A17

****

OK, I'm bored. I'm not typing anything else from his letter.

But I like this line so much I'm reprinting it just because:

"It's crazy. It has no meaning whatsoever."

I so dearly want to hang Sid Vicious. Of course, the Muslims are all innocent. Sid is innocent too, as we read above, but I want to hang him anyway. Before they cut off my foolish head.
