Rome Dims The Lights In Protest Of Ahmadinejad

This is one for history. The Mayor of Rome ordered the lights of the city dimmed as a way to protest the presence of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad:

There were no high level
meetings in Rome between the Italian
President Berlusconi and Ahmadinejad.Western Leaders, including Italy, chose
the "American
Stance" in dealing with Mahmoud.They did not meet with him.

It was not a pleasant trip to Rome for Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Protestors waved Israeli flags, shouted
Israel’s name, and handed out leaflets proclaiming in Italian “We Don’t Want
You” outside the summit on Tuesday, where Ahmadinjead was
attending a United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation meeting.

Arriving at the meeting, Ahmadinejad wasted no time launching into yet
another attack on Israel. He said: “European peoples have suffered the greatest
damage from Zionists and today the costs of this false regime, be they political
or economic costs, are on Europe's shoulders.”

Nearby in Rome’s City Hall, The Union of Italian Jewish Communities,
Italian politicians, equality campaigners and Iranian exiles held a “Free-Iran”
sit-in and heard speeches highlighting the threat of the leader.

Italians, Jews and Iranians protested against Iranian President Mahmoud
Ahmadinejad on Tuesday.

President of Rome’s Jewish community Ricardo Pacifici told the Jewish News:
“It is an historical event for Roman people to start a new campaign to highlight
that the nuclear activity of Iran is a danger not only for Israel but especially
the people of Europe. These arms could arrive in a capital like Athens, Rome,
Paris or Madrid. It’s not a fantasy but a reality. It is important that public
opinion in Europe understands the need to stop Iran’s nuclear activity and
ensure freedom for the Iranian people, Israeli people and especially for
democracy in Europe.”

Rome’s Mayor Gianni Alemanno dimmed the external lights of the City Hall
plaza, designed by artist Michelangelo, for 15 minutes on Tuesday night in
protest.

When the history of the Great War Against Islamofascism has been written, this will be one of the moments we will be able to look back on with pride. Let's hope their will be many more.

Winds of War: Cutting Off Muslim Air Supply

One of the interesting effects of programs to reverse the tide of illegal immigration in some Border States is to pass laws that prevent illegals from acquiring free social services. In addition, some Border States like Arizona passed laws that would fine employers who knowingly hire illegal aliens.

The result of these programs was the voluntary leaving of illegal aliens because those States have ‘cut off their air supply’.

Such a strategy seems to working in Australia for Muslims.

Mistrial Declared In Case Of Seattle Jewish Center Shooter

Muslim man plans a mass murder, storms a Jewish center, rants against Israel, shoots six women, kills one, and they can't decide if this constitutes a form of murder?!?!?

And, the judge accepts that, and declares a mistrial?!?

SEATTLE - A judge declared a mistrial Wednesday in the case of a man who
stormed into a Jewish center two years ago and shot six women, killing one, as
he ranted against Israel and the Iraq war.

Jurors had indicated in questions posed to the judge that they were
hopelessly deadlocked and struggling to determine whether Naveed Haq, 32, was
not guilty by reason of insanity, as he claimed.

King County Superior Court Judge Paris Kallas ended the jury's
deliberations in their eighth day.

The jurors reached a partial verdict on only one of the 15
counts against Haq, finding him not guilty of attempted first-degree murder of
one of the women.

But they couldn't agree on the lesser charge of
attempted second-degree murder or any of the other 14 charges, which included
murder.

Haq held a teenage girl at gunpoint to force his way into the Jewish
Federation of Greater Seattle on July 28, 2006. Once in the second-floor office,
he began railing against U.S. policies and opened fire when someone tried to
call 911. He shot some people in their cubicles, some in the hall, and one,
Pamela Waechter, fatally as she fled down a stairwell.

An emergency operator eventually persuaded him to surrender.

Prosecutors quickly announced they hope to retry Haq this
year, and representatives of the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle
expressed their disappointment at the mistrial.

"There is no argument Haq killed Pam. There is no argument he
viciously shot five others. There is no argument that he made anti-Israel and
anti-Semitic statements. Somehow, all this was not enough," said Jewish
Federation President Richard Fruchter.

During the six-week trial, prosecutors did not dispute that Haq had
mental problems and had struggled to make friends and hold down jobs. But he
knew right from wrong, could tell what he was doing and wanted to get his
message out, they said.

They noted that Haq planned the shooting for days, drove from
his eastern Washington home to Seattle the morning of the shooting and hid in
the building's foyer to avoid detection.

Haq's lawyers, however, argued that he had a long history of mental
illness that had recently been worsened by a change in his medication. A defense
expert diagnosed bipolar disorder with psychotic tendencies.

Lie. Barack Obama told a crowd of 75,000 last month that Iran is not a threat.

Obama at AIPAC:
The Iranian regime supports violent extremists and challenges us across the region. It pursues a nuclear capability that could spark a dangerous arms race and raise the prospect of a transfer of nuclear know-how to terrorists. Its president denies the Holocaust and threatens to wipe Israel off the map. The danger from Iran is grave, it is real, and my goal will be to eliminate this threat.

Lie. In September 2007, a bipartisan effort in the Senate passed the Kyl-Lieberman resolution designating the Iranian Revolutionary Guard a terrorist organization. Obama vehemently opposed this effort and used the opportunity as a political tool to attack Hillary Clinton. Obama rewrites history by pretending his opposition to Kyl-Lieberman never happened, When given a chance to fight Iran's support of terror, Obama instead worked against the bipartisan effort to increase the economic pressure on the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.

Breaking: Abandoned Car Packed With Explosives Found Near Andrews AFB

Prince George's County police found explosive material in a deserted car near Andrews Air Force Base this morning and are working with federal investigators to determine the source of the material, authorities said.

Shortly after 6 a.m., police were alerted to a black Nissan Altima with no license plates parked on Dower House Road in Upper Marlboro, said Cpl. Diane Richardson. Police determined the car had been stolen and called on federal law enforcement officials, including military investigators, to examine the explosive material, packaged in units small enough to fit in the palm of a hand, Richardson said. Police found raw material but no detonation devices, authorities said.

Public Outrage Over French Court's Sharia Ruling

Whole swaths of the French legal system are going Sharia. And, it is becoming so painfully obvious, the people are starting to go ballistic.

PARIS (AP) - The bride said she was a virgin. When her new husband discovered that was a lie, he went to court to annul the marriage—and a French judge agreed.

The ruling ending the Muslim couple's union has stunned France and raised concerns the country's much-cherished secular values are losing ground to religious traditions from its fast-growing immigrant communities.

The decision also exposed the silent shame borne by some Muslim women who transgress long-held religious dictates demanding proof of virginity on the wedding night.

In its ruling, the court concluded the woman had misrepresented herself as a virgin and that, in this particular marriage, virginity was a prerequisite.

But in treating the case as a breach of contract, the ruling was decried by critics who said it undermined decades of progress in women's rights. Marriage, they said, was reduced to the status of a commercial transaction in which women could be discarded by husbands claiming to have discovered hidden defects in them.

The court decision "is a real fatwa against the emancipation and liberty of women. We are returning to the past," said Urban Affairs Minister Fadela Amara, the daughter of immigrants from Muslim North Africa, using the Arabic term for a religious decree.

The outcry has been unrelenting since word of the April 1 decision in the closed-door trial in Lille was made public last week by the daily newspaper Liberation. In its judgment, the tribunal said the 2006 marriage had been ended based on "an error in the essential qualities" of the bride, "who had presented herself as single and chaste."

Justice Minister Rachida Dati, whose parents also were born in North Africa, initially shrugged off the ruling—but the public clamor reached such a pitch that she asked the prosecutor's office this week to lodge an appeal.

What began as a private matter "concerns all the citizens of our country and notably women," a statement from her ministry said.

The appeal was filed Tuesday and three judges could hear the case sometime this month, said Eric Vaillant of the appeals court in Douai, near Lille.

The hitch is that both the young woman and the man at the center of the drama are opposed to an appeal, according to their lawyers. The names of the woman, a student in her 20s, and the man, an engineer in his 30s, have not been disclosed.

The young woman's lawyer, Charles-Edouard Mauger, said she was distraught by the dragging out of the humiliating case. In an interview on Europe 1 radio, he quoted her as saying: "I don't know who's trying to think in my place. I didn't ask for anything. ... I wasn't the one who asked for the media attention, for people to talk about it, and for this to last so long."

The issue is particularly distressing for France because the government has fought to maintain strong secular traditions as demographics change. An estimated 5 million Muslims live in the country of 64 million, the largest Muslim population in Western Europe.

France passed a law in 2004 banning Muslim headscarves and other ostentatious religious signs from classrooms, a move that caused an uproar in the Muslim world.

Now, critics contend another law on the books is being used to effectively condone the custom requiring a woman to enter marriage as a virgin, and prove it with bloodstained sheets on her wedding night.

Article 180 of the Civil Code states that when a couple enters into a marriage, if the "essential qualities" of a spouse are misrepresented, then "the other spouse can seek the nullity of the marriage." Past examples of marriages that were annulled include a husband found to be impotent and a wife who was a prostitute, according to attorney Xavier Labbee.

Ironically, Article 180 also guards against forced marriages.

In a rare show of agreement, politicians on the left and right said the court's action does not reflect French values.

"In a democratic and secular country, we cannot consider virginity as an essential quality of marriage," said an expert on French secularism, Jacqueline Costa-Lascoux.

The decision underscored the painful predicament faced today by many Muslim women in France and elsewhere in the West who become sexually emancipated but remain bound by strict codes of honor inherited and enforced by their families—and prospective husbands.

It is not unusual for young Muslim women to procure fake virginity certificates, use tricks like vials of spilled blood on the wedding night or even undergo hymen repair to satisfy family expectations, and evade the shame that would follow if their secret got out.

An informal survey by The Associated Press in 2006 found numerous private clinics in the Paris region where such surgery is performed, as well as doctors who supply fake virginity certificates before a marriage.

"Today, the judicial system of a modern country cannot hold to these savage traditions, completely inhuman for the young woman," said the rector of the Paris Mosque, Dalil Boubakeur.

He likened the court decision to "equating marriage with a commercial transaction."

Like some others, Boubakeur, a moderate, voiced fears that Muslim fundamentalists would seek to profit from the Lille ruling "as they have done with the veil. ... Fundamentalists use (head scarves) like their flag."

"We ask Muslims to live in their era," he said.

Obama: Jerusalem Must Remain The Undivided Capital Of Israel

Barack Obama spoke to AIPAC today. He sounds like a true friend of Israel, if you believe his words:

WASHINGTON (AFP) - US Democratic presumptive nominee Barack Obama said
Wednesday that Jerusalem must remain the "undivided" capital of Israel in a
speech to a powerful US-Israel lobby group here.

"Jerusalem will remain the capital of Israel and it must remain
undivided," Obama told the vast annual policy conference of the American Israel
Public Affairs Council (AIPAC).

Addressing the group in almost his first act since claiming the
Democratic nomination late Tuesday, Obama said he was a "true friend" of Israel
and that the US bond with the Jewish state was "unbreakable."

Obama drew a standing ovation as he arrived to address the mighty
US-Israel lobby, and also addressed perceived suspicion of him in some sectors
of the Jewish community.

"As president I will never compromise when it comes to Israel's
security," Obama said in a cavernous Washington conference center, his image
emblazoned across eight massive cinema-style screens.

Obama said in the strikingly pro-Israel speech that the US bond
with the Jewish state was "unbreakable today, unbreakable tomorrow, unbreakable
for ever," adding he was speaking from his heart as a "true friend" of
Israel.

Republicans have hammered Obama over his offer to talk to leaders of US
foe Iran, saying the strategy ignores repeated warnings by Iranian President
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to destroy Israel.

But he said it was time to abandon Middle
East policies of President George W. Bush, which he said had made Israel less
safe, and accused Republican presumptive nominee John McCain of wanting to
prolong them.

"There are those who would continue and intensify this failed status
quo, ignoring eight years of accumulated evidence that our foreign policy is
dangerously flawed," Obama said.


He then went on to articulate the following message:


1) Obama warned Islamist movement Hamas must renounce
violence,

2) pledged to stand up for Israel's right to defend itself at
the United Nations and to provide the Jewish state the means to guarantee its
security.

3) "We must isolate Hamas unless and until they renounce
terrorism, recognize Israel's right to exist, and abide by past agreements.
There is no room at the negotiating table for terrorist
organizations."

4) He said he would push for an Israeli-Palestinian peace deal
if elected president in November.

5) "Any agreement the Palestinian people must preserve Israel's
identity as a Jewish state," Obama said.

Those five points, outlined above, sound suspiciously like the exact plan by which the Bush Administration has been proceeding.

So, how is Barack Obama going to change the "status quo" and go against the tide of "eight years of accumulated evidence that our foreign policy is dangerously flawed ..."?

Last night Barack Obama broke all records for campaign promises, with one of the most over the top self-aggrandizing statements ever uttered by a presidential candidate.

I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back

Continuing in the spirit of the previous post, here's the latest update in the do-they-or-don't-they-have-it? debate concerning the Michelle Obama "Whitey" tape. Either this thing is starting to look promising or it will rank as the top hoax of the 2008 campaign. Not counting Obama himself, that is.

From Gateway Pundit we have the latest. The post referenced is from Sister Rosetta of HillBuzz and is still in the realm of speculation, yet is specific and documented as to time and place: a Rainbow Push Coalition Conference held in Chicago June 26-July 1, 2004, at which Michelle Obama was listed as a "special guest". According to Sister Rosetta,

Michelle Obama appeared as a panelist alongside Mrs. Khadijah Farrakhan and Mrs. James Meeks. Bill Clinton spoke during the Conference... but not at the panel Michelle attended. Michelle Obama... referenced Bill Clinton in her rant -- his presence at the conference was the impetus for her raving, it seems. For about 30 minutes, Michelle Obama launced into a rant about the evils of America, and how America is to blame for the problems of Africa. Michelle personally blamed President Clinton for the deaths of millions of Africans and said America is responsible for the genocide of the Tutsis and other ethnic groups. She then launced into and attack on "whitey", and talked about solutions to black on black crime in the realm of diverting those actions onto white America.

GP reports that according to the No Quarters blog,

the "tape" is a DVD that Trinity United sold on its website, and possibly offered free for download up until March 2008 when Trinity's site was scrubbed and the DVDs were no longer offered for sale. This outburst happened just one month before the 2004 Democratic Convention, when Barack Obama delivered the keynote address.

If this report is accurate, then we need to see the entire 30 minutes of the would-be First Lady's anti-American rant, not just the couple of "whitey" lines.

If Bill Clinton spoke at the same event, would it not be likely that he took owns a record of that event? Also, since the pertinent part of the event was a panel and not a "speech", might there be legal questions to consider with regard to other speakers before the tape can be made public?

If this tape exists America needs to see it. And soon.

The Death of France

As has been seen with the Danish Mohammad cartoons, Islam's war against Western Civilization places great importance on the destruction of free speech. Both in Europe and Canada Moslems are using various "hate crime" legislation in order to prosecute those who criticizes their belief system. In the United States this tactic has also been tried. For example, in Lewiston, Maine when someone posted flyers for a lost dog named "Mohammad" it was a police matter.

France has moved far down the road of censoring all expression that "insults" their new Moslem Overlords. Brigitte Bardot was once a cultural icon of France. Today she is a thought criminal. She has been convicted, yet again, for voicing her views to her elected leaders. She faces fines for writing to then Interior Minister Sarkozy:

In the December 2006 letter to Mr Sarkozy, now the president, Bardot said France is "tired of being led by the nose by this population that is destroying us, destroying our country by imposing its acts."

In a 2001 article named, Open Letter to My Lost France, she lamented: "...my country, France, my homeland, my land is again invaded by an overpopulation of foreigners, especially Muslims."

In her 2003 book, A Scream in the Silence, she warned of the “Islamicisation of France”, and said of Muslim immigration: “Over the last twenty years, we have given in to a subterranean, dangerous, and uncontrolled infiltration, which not only resists adjusting to our laws and customs but which will, as the years pass, attempt to impose its own."

Dhimmis speaking the truth is not allowed under Islam. The main-sewer media is downplaying this story, of course, placing it in the entertainment section.
