Head of dutch intelligence service says there are thousands of jihadi sympathizers in the Netherlands

Rob Bertholee, the head of the Dutch General Intelligence Service, AIVD, said in an interview that there are hundreds of adherents of violent jihad in the Netherlands, and thousands of jihad sympathizers.
He added that in contrast, the authorities’ alertness to the problem has declined over the past few years.
Bertholee remarked that jihadists have become more sophisticated. He concluded that even if the AIVD had a budget seven times larger, it still could not guarantee a hundred percent safety for Dutch citizens.

Last week, I detailed the conflicting signals and statements to which Americans were being exposed by the press and government officials relative to the threat posed by the so-called Islamic State (formerly the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, or ISIS).
This week, the news cycle has been dominated by the Obama administration’s unfathomable lack of resolve with respect to ISIS, particularly the president’s laconic admission last week that the White House did not have a strategy to combat the terror group.
One of the criticisms the administration has faced is the president having been highly dismissive of ISIS, at one point calling them the “JV team” among terrorist groups.
Outrage on the part of Americans and world leaders came to a head on Aug. 19 when American journalist James Foley was beheaded by ISIS. Video footage of the murder was widely distributed by the group.
Then, on Sept. 2, new video was released by ISIS; Steven Sotloff, an American journalist being held by the terror group since last year, was shown being beheaded by a black-robed militant.
As in response to nearly all of the disturbing advances, threats and atrocities concerning Islamic terrorists, once again, Obama’s response was as tepid as ever. As worldwide concern over ISIS has grown, experts and world leaders have admonished one another as well as America that ISIS is currently the greatest threat to peace globally, and possibly one of the greatest threats to peace the world has ever seen.
This week, the British government raised the country’s terror threat level to “Severe,” the second-highest of five potential levels. In a speech to the British House of Commons, Prime Minister David Cameron proposed sweeping new anti-terror legislation to mitigate the threat to Britain from ISIS.
Now we have learned (as reported Tuesday by Fox News) that President Obama was given “detailed and specific intelligence” about the rise of ISIS as part of his daily briefing for at least a year before the group seized vast swaths of territory in Syria and Iraq this summer.
According to the Fox News source, there was no mistaking the signals, or the fact that the threat posed by ISIS was building toward that which we are now witnessing. To add insult to injury, after this latest atrocity, Americans were treated to Press Secretary Josh Earnest’s mealymouthed claims that ISIS is a group the administration had been “looking at for a long time” and State Department spokesperson Jen Psaki’s reluctance to “put any labels” on Steve Sotloff’s beheading.
This would be comical if not for the real human suffering involved. Republican lawmakers and assorted conservative pundits continue to refer to President Obama as “disengaged,” “ineffectual,” or “in denial,” and California Democrat Sen. Dianne Feinstein recently deemed him possibly “too cautious” regarding ISIS. These lukewarm estimations and face-saving maneuvers have become tedious.
It is high time that those in government who have any desire whatsoever to preserve this nation as an ongoing concern take stock of the abundance of evidence which proves beyond a reasonable doubt that the individual representing himself as Barack Hussein Obama is responsible for the resurgence of Islamic militancy in the Middle East, and ISIS in particular.
As uncomfortable for them as it may be, they must come to grips with the fact that Obama is a well-placed saboteur representing malignant interests, enemies both foreign and domestic, that have been strategizing the downfall of the United States for decades.READ THE WHOLE THING.

One of the last Christians to stay behind after the Islamic State took over his Iraqi town was beaten to death by jihadi militants after refusing to convert to Islam, a Christian advocacy group and two Christian websites reported.
The Washington-based organization International Christian Concern said that Salem Matty Georgis, 43, of Bartella, was pummeled to death Monday in front of a church after he refused to convert. Islamic State militants seized the predominantly Christian town last month.
The website Ankawa quoted one of Georgis’ relatives who said that Georgis never left due to a medical condition that prevented him from traveling.
According to the account by the unnamed relative, Georgis was confined to his home for three weeks until Monday, when he set out to purchase groceries after he ran out of food.
According to Ankawa:
“Exactly we don’t know why in this situation they killed this man,” William Warda of the Hammurabi Human Rights Organization told International Christian Concern. “Generally they have allowed people to leave, without money or documents, but alive.”
Todd Daniels, International Christian Concern’s Regional Manager for the Middle East, said the world “cannot remain silent about the existential threat that Iraq’s Christian communities are facing. We are witnessing the emptying of Christians from their homelands.”
Bartella was one of several predominantly Christian towns in Iraq overrun by the Islamist militant group in early August, which sent tens of thousands of Christians fleeing for safety.

Seventeen fake cellphone towers were discovered across the U.S. last week, according to a report in Popular Science.
Rather than offering you cellphone service, the towers appear to be connecting to nearby phones, bypassing their encryption, and either tapping calls or reading texts.
Les Goldsmith, the CEO of ESD America, used ESD's CryptoPhone 500 to detect 17 bogus cellphone towers. ESD is a leading American defense and law enforcement technology provider based in Las Vegas.
With most phones, these fake communication towers are undetectable. But not for the CryptoPhone 500, a customized Android device that is disguised as a Samsung Galaxy S III but has highly advanced encryption.
Goldsmith told Popular Science: "Interceptor use in the U.S. is much higher than people had anticipated. One of our customers took a road trip from Florida to North Carolina and he found eight different interceptors on that trip. We even found one at South Point Casino in Las Vegas.”
The towers were found in July, but the report implied that there may have been more out there.
Although it is unclear who owns the towers, ESD found that several of them were located near U.S. military bases.
"Whose interceptor is it? Who are they, that's listening to calls around military bases? Is it just the U.S. military, or are they foreign governments doing it? The point is: we don't really know whose they are," Goldsmith said to Popular Science.

They do that by jamming mobile phone signals, forcing phones to drop down from 4G and 3G network bands to the older, more insecure 2G band.

Islamic State Forcing Captured Pilots To Train It's Militants

The Islamic State has claimed on social media that it is utilizing captured Syrian pilots to learn how to fly stolen jets, according to a CNN Arabic report over the weekend. The Syrian pilots, which are part of the Syrian Armed Forces loyal to president Bashar al-Assad, had been captured after the Islamic State seized Tabqa airbase in Raqqa, Syria.
The Islamic State took Tabqa airbase after a four-day battle with the Syrian military. Tabqa is home to a plethora of fighter jets, helicopters, artillery, and large caches of ammunition.
It still remains unclear how much quantity of the munitions the Syrian forces were able to secure before the remaining units evacuated the air base.
According to Bill Roggio of the Long War Journal, the IS militants were able to grab at least three MiG fighter Jets. In an interview with Breitbart News, former Reagan National Security Advisor Robert McFarlane said that the Islamic State was also in possession of MANPADS (Man-portable air-defense systems), which are capable of shooting down commercial jetliners.
The report comes on the heels of recent news that Islamist fighters in Libya were able to steal eleven commercial airliners at Tripoli’s International Airport. US officials feared that the jets could be used to attack New York City and Washington, D.C. on the anniversary of the September, 11, 2001 attacks.GO READ THE WHOLE THING.

Not much new here, but it is further confirmation that the story is true, despite the fact that the MSM is completely ignoring it.
The PuffHo (Huffington Post) says the planes have been seized or "stolen", and gives the impression they are still at the airport.
Bill Gertz, at the Free Beacon, who seems to be a reasonable man, says they are "MISSING."
"Missing" implies that not only was the airport seized (which we know), but that the jets have been removed, that they are unaccounted for.
Missing and "stolen" (or seized) are two different things in this case.

Muslims Pose With Jetliner They Stole From Tripoli Airport - One of 11 Passenger Airliners Currently Missing

Libyan terrorists have posted pictures online of themselves posing with some of the aeroplanes taken from Tripoli airport after they seized it last month.
Soldiers from the group Libyan Dawn can be seen climbing on to the wings of the commercial jets while smiling and waving for the camera.
U.S. officials fear that these aeroplanes could now be used to carry out 9/11-style attacks in the region on the anniversary of the tragedy this month.
A total of 11 commercial jets from two state-owned airlines went missing in August after militants from the so-called 'masked men brigade' overran the airport in the Libyan capital.
On Sunday, the Libyan government announced that they had lost control of the capital to competing militias including the radical Islamic groups Ansar al Sharia and Libyan Dawn.
Ansar al Sharia has ties to the Islamic State (also known as ISIS), the Syrian group which today released the filmed beheading of American journalist Steven Sotloff - the second recorded execution of a U.S. hostage by the group.
Moroccan military expert Abderrahmane Mekkaoui told Al Jazeera television after the airport attack that the planes had been taken by another Islamic group, the Masked Men Brigade.
Mekkaoui said there is 'credible intelligence' that the Masked Men Brigade 'is plotting to use the planes in attacks on the Maghreb state' on the 9/11 anniversary.
Sebastian Gorka, a counterterrorism expert, told the Free-Beacon that the planes could be used in two ways to strike North Africa or even as far as the oil fields of Saudi Arabia. '

All the same, this is still why I think the time has come for competition to ICANN, since any company that may be willing to deal with an outfit unsuited for the job cannot be trusted to safeguard freedom of speech. We are successful and or happy in the ratio by which our internal compass directs us in our observation of the world’s realities.
Obama has no compass, and no path of his own, only a set of sensors for what others feel. He imagines if he can make others FEEL GOOD, his path is taken.
Therefore all the details which comprise what we call COMPETENCE are left aside for others, presumably rightly guided self starters. Except THEY are incompetent. THEY are self seeking. THEY are ass kissers. THEY are inimical to life as we know it. But they reinforce his sensor system.
That’s why this morning, in order to avoid being called incorrect in history by virtue of not 100% eliminating ISIS because 3 guys in an apartment have ammonia and fertilizer, he told us he wanted ISIS to be a manageable problem-thus denying a clear path to ANY EFFECTIVE MANAGEMENT.
The man is WITHOUT A CLUE to lead.

Leading up to the somber anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, there are fresh fears of possible 9/11-style attacks taking place across North Africa as radical Islamist groups in Libya have reportedly seized nearly a dozen commercial airliners in the last month.
While counterterrorism officials are reportedly concerned that the missing jetliners could be used by terrorists to carry out deadly attacks, the timing of the theft is also setting off alarms.
The concern is that radical Islamist groups will use the planes to mark the anniversary of the deadly 9/11 attacks, according to alleged intelligence reports disseminated within the U.S. government.
Reports that Islamist militias have seized the jetliners come just weeks before the 13th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
