The last 6 years has seen a double failure in the USA.
One failure is understandable and forgivable even if history has proven the error.
The other failure is one of stubborn arrogance, and UNFORGIVABLE.
The Progressive ideal which I regard as utopian (thus doomed to
failure, no matter what) will ALWAYS exert a pull on humanity AND IT
SHOULD because the heart of its idea is to make total the care we each
give each other (thru the govt) for all. When we help our neighbor
shovel, instead we make the govt the AGENT for this unselfish care. It
‘s a nice idea, but even in this simple example it’s obvious where this
event goes haywire sideways because it is implemented by human beings
who are not just weak, but TERRIBLY weak.
AS WE ALL ARE.
We NEED, however, people who remind us constantly that since
individuals cannot possibly care for all, SOME AGENT must exist to help
those who cannot help themselves, need help and deserve (our individual)
help.
The second failure though is the BIG ONE. When the desire to
implement the ideal above becomes the END, and justifies means, we have
total failure to govern.
The best interpretation (without regard for whether it is the FACT or
not) is that since failure to attain the Progressive ideal is certain,
we have governance which is incompetent and an ever escalating cycle of
blame.
By putting aside all ideals for what can be practically achieved from
time to time (not even all the time) we end up with programs like
Obamacare whose success is a matter only of tortuous logic, and a series
of implementation delays targeted to just after election days?
By serially ignoring practical solutions which then MUST ENGAGE the
opposition as SUPPORT we set a pattern of oppositional defiance based on
previous failure.
We can say whatever we want about whether R’s would cooperate on this
or that, but when we see the INCREDIBLE entropy in foreign affairs (a
lot of which is OBVIOUSLY ‘chickenshit’ self-errors, or could have been
prevented or minimized) and hunch our shoulders worrying over tomorrow,
then look to domestic programs and realities where in NH 71% of new jobs
went to both legal (FINE but really?) and ILLEGAL immigrants, and the
decay in real worth of Americans during the ENTIRETY of this admin (not
just at it outset, which would have been understandable), how is it
possible to NOT say that the BULK of these failures lie at the feet of a
governance which has insisted IT IS THE RIGHT WAY TO DEAL WITH REALITY?
A governance which is thus, a failure. IPSO FACTO.
So today I hope most Americans will pull the R lever within limits, with a big fat HUGE caveat for the R’s if they get 51+.
You had better have a clue.
You had better have a coherent PRACTICAL idea set.
You had better see compromise to DEAL with a stubborn and arrogant president.
If we see over the next 26 months a series of stupid, avoidable
confrontations, culminating in the inevitable constitutional crises,
which occur when one equal branch faces off against another, the
American people are going to be looking for other solutions, or become
so cynical they stop caring.
When the USSR died there was an iconic saying among the people which reflects this kind of loss of faith.
"We pretend to work, and they pretend to pay us."
Nothing happens, we have faith that nothing WILL happen, works ends, we go to sleep, and the sun rises for us to repeat.
Is that the future?
All of us, every single man, woman, and child on the face of the Earth were born with the same unalienable rights; to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And, if the governments of the world can't get that through their thick skulls, then, regime change will be necessary.

When you drill, baby, drill ….
Telegraph UK:
Dollar smashes through resistance as mega-rally gathers pace
HSBC says we are at the early stages of a dollar bull run that will change the world
The US dollar has surged to a four-year high against a basket of currencies and has punched through key technical resistance, marking a crucial turning point for the global financial system.
The so-called dollar index, watched closely by traders, has finally broken above its 30-year downtrend line as the US economy powers ahead and the Federal Reserve prepares to tighten monetary policy.
The index - a mix of six major currencies – hit 87.4 on Monday, rising above the key level of 87. This reflects the plunge in the Japanese yen since the Bank of Japan launched a fresh round of quantitative easing last week.
Data from the Chicago Mercantile Exchange show that speculative dollar bets on the derivatives markets have reached a record high, with the most extended positions against the euro, the yen, the Australian dollar, Mexican peso, the Canadian dollar, the Swiss franc, sterling, and the New Zealand dollar, in that order. The Swedish and Norwegian currencies are also coming under heavy pressure.
David Bloom, currency chief at HSBC, said a “seismic change” is under way and may lead to a 20pc surge in the dollar over a 12-month span. The mega-rally of 1980 to 1985 as the Volcker Fed tightened the screws saw a 90pc rise before the leading powers intervened at the Plaza Accord to cap the rise
Note that this is all achieved on the back of a SINGLE industry, free
of any govt programs, and POSITIVE attention (in fact NEGATIVE)
attention and given the War on Coal, in SPITE of the ruling admin.
WOW.
WOW.

UK Telegraph: Britain's spy chief says US tech firms aid terrorism
New GCHQ director Robert Hannigan accuses some Silicon Valley companies of becoming 'the command and control networks of choice' for terrorists
Technology giants such as Facebook and Twitter have become "the command and control networks of choice" for terrorists and criminals but are "in denial" about the scale of the problem, the new head of GCHQ has said.
Robert Hannigan said that Isil terrorists in Syria and Iraq have "embraced the web" and are using it to intimidate people and inspire "would-be jihadis" from all over the world to join them.
He urged the companies to work more closely with the security services, arguing that it is time for them to confront "some uncomfortable truths" and that privacy is not an "absolute right".
He suggested that unless US technology companies co-operate, new laws will be needed to ensure that intelligence agencies are able to track and pursue terrorists.
His comments represent some of the most outspoken criticism yet of US technology giants by the security services, and come amid growing tensions following leaks by whistleblower Edward Snowden.MORE:
Surveillance conducted under EO 12333 is implemented almost entirely by the executive branch, without review by Congress or the courts.

The head of GCHQ, the UK's equivalent of the NSA, says that the Edward Snowden leaks have helped terrorist organizations such as ISIS who have taken to the web to spread propaganda.
Jihad in Greenville, North Carolina: Wal-Mart Shooter Gets 97 Years
Another Asshole for Allah
This is an example of a Jihadist attack that has never been reported as a Jihadist attack. Not even once.
Now that the trial is over, we find out that, among the evidence presented, was the fact that the dude's house was a resevoir of Islamic literature, and that he attempted to kill people because of their race and religion.
Who knew?
Not Barack Obama, that's for sure. This was workplace violence. It had to be.
From the Daily Reflector:
A man accused of shooting four people in a Greenville commercial area in 2013 was sentenced to 97 years and eight months in prison Tuesday after pleading guilty in Pitt County Superior Court.
Lakim Anthony Faust, 24, pleaded guilty to four counts of attempted first-degree murder, three counts assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and seven counts of assault on a law enforcement officer.
The indictments said Faust shot the four men because of their “race, color, religion, nationality, or country of origin.”
Faust is black; the four victims are white. A search warrant shows police seized several books on the Muslim faith from Faust’s residence as evidence after the shootings.

New York Times: Cancel The Midterms
I Tried To Think And I Failed
The New York Times is for Democracy except for when the Democrat Party is losing. Then they are for canceling elections.
From the NYT:
There was a time when midterm elections made sense — at our nation’s founding, the Constitution represented a new form of republican government, and it was important for at least one body of Congress to be closely accountable to the people. But especially at a time when Americans’ confidence in the ability of their government to address pressing concerns is at a record low, two-year House terms no longer make any sense. We should get rid of federal midterm elections entirely.Do you see how their logic contradicts itself.
Back when Republican government was new, and people didn't know if it would work, then it was important for government to be accountable every two years.
But now that people's confidence in government is low, it's not a good thing for government to be accountable every two years.
I guess it's this kind of absolute stupidity which has earned the New York Times the moniker, "The Newspaper of Record".

More on Common Core, And It's Ties To Qatar
Maggie'sNotebook: Common Core-The Qatar Connection: A Wahhabi State Skypes With Your Children - Connect All Schools August 24, 2013
The acronyms for America’s New World Order education are mind-numbing – all the better to keep you from connecting who is connected to who/whom/which. First, I have found one source that connects Common Core Initiative Standards (CCIS) to “Connect All Schools,” and that is on the “Connect All Schools” website page titled One World Education (OWE). Second, our Department of Defense (DOD) has partnered with the Connect All Schools program. Connect All Schools is connected to Vartan Gregorian. Gregorian is connected to Barack Obama in numerous ways, including as a member of the White House Fellowship Commission. Gregorian was born in Tabriz, Iran to Armenian parents. He came to the U.S. in 1956 to study at Stanford. He became a naturalized American citizen in about 1979. He graduated Stanford University, is currently the president of Carnegie Corporation and is a former president of Brown University in Rhode Island. Pertinent to this article is his seat on the board of The Qatar Foundation International (QFI).
About one year ago, Qatar dedicated a new mosque. The event was widely seen as the initial steps to reviving their Wahhabi heritage. You should be concerned about Qatar’s influence in American education. Wahhabi-ists have one goal and that is the spread of Islam worldwide.

About one year ago, Qatar dedicated a new mosque. The event was widely seen as the initial steps to reviving their Wahhabi heritage. You should be concerned about Qatar’s influence in American education. Wahhabi-ists have one goal and that is the spread of Islam worldwide.
The Qatar Foundation International, or QFI, in 2011 partnered with the Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education to facilitate matchmaking between classrooms in the U.S. and international schools through something called the “Connect All Schools” project.
QFI, funded by the Qatari government, explains on its website the initiative was founded in response to Obama’s call in his June 2009 speech to the Arab world in Cairo, Egypt, to “create a new online network, so a young person in Kansas can communicate instantly with a young person in Cairo.”
QFI relates how more than 100 U.S. schools and organizations have already connected on the interactive website.
The stated goal of the initiative is to “connect every school in the U.S. with the world by 2016."...
WND reported last May the Qatar-based foundation awarded “Curriculum Grants” to seven U.S. schools and language organizations to “develop comprehensive and innovative curricula and teaching materials to be used in any Arabic language classroom.”
QFI, based in Washington, D.C., is the U.S. branch of the Qatar Foundation, founded in 1995 by Qatar’s ruling emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
Thani is still the group’s vice-chairman, while one of his three wives, Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, chairs the organization’s board. ....

Qatar is skyping with your children across the U.S.
In January 2012, it [QFI] launched the Research Center for Islamic Legislation and Ethics under the guidance of Tariq Ramadan, who serves as the center’s director.
Ramadan is the grandson of the notorious founder of the Muslim Brotherhood, Hassan al Banna. Ramadan was banned from the U.S. until 2010 when the Obama administration issued him a visa to give a lecture at a New York school.
QFI, meanwhile, named several institutions after Yusuf al-Qaradawi, one of the top leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood. Many regard Qaradawi as the de facto spiritual leader of Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood.
The foundation instituted the Sheikh Yusuf Al Qaradawi Scholarships and in 2009 established a research center named the Qaradawi Center for Islamic Moderation and Renewal…

Luce Professor of Religion, Conflict and Peacebuilding at the Joan B. Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana. Two months later the Bush State Department revoked the visa on grounds of terrorist ties under the “ideological exclusion provision” of the Patriot Act. The university attempted to help Ramadan regain his visa with no success. Ramadan resigned the position in December 2004…
In January 2010 Secretary of State Hillary Clinton lifted the ban on Tariq Ramadan’s presence on American soil. By 2010, America was no longer under the threat of “terrorism.” Tariq Ramadan came to the U.S.

Arizona receives $465,000 grant from the Qatar Foundation International (QFI)?
According to Tucson News Now, the governing board of the Tucson Unified School District asked the school board to accept a $465,000 curriculum grant from the Qatar Foundation International, a global philanthropic organization with strong ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, the parent organization of the terrorist group Hamas, and behind much of the unrest in the Middle East.
The Muslim Brotherhood has been associated with Islam-biased K-12 textbooks identified by Citizens for National Security(CFNS) and Act for America. The textbooks in the CFNS study contained pro-Islamic misinformation, and material that provided negative misinformation about Israel, Judaism, and Christianity. The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), also connected to Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood has targeted American schools and other public institutions for indoctrination…
The grant money is intended to implement “innovative curricula and teaching materials to be used in any Arabic language classroom,” reports the Arizona Daily Independent. Two Tucson schools, Safford K-8 Magnet School and Cholla High Magnet School, will be the recipients of the terror-infested cash, according toTucson News Now.
About 100 students at Cholla High Magnet School are learning Arabic. At Safford K-8 Magnet School, 125 students are learning the language.
Last year’s grant for Arabic language from the Qatar Foundation was $55,000.
A handful of similar programs funded by the Qatar charity exist in other American cities. In 2012, for example, the nonprofit provided $250,000 for a three-year pilot project for Arabic language at P.S. 368 in Harlem, reports DNA info New York.Source

In my state of Oklahoma a school is “discovering” Korea, doesn’t say whether north or south, and another school is connected to “NAIS’s Challenge 20/20 Project on Global Warming and Poverty – Hunger.”
Texas: Two of the six programs include an “exchange visit to Jordan,” and NAIS’s Challenge 20/20 Project on Digital Divide, Maritime Safety and Pollution, Global Warming and Global Poverty.
If you change the map to to “connected with Qatar” you find ”
“Summer of Science and Service between schools in Doha, Washington, DC and Boston!” and “Global TelePresence Student Debates”
Throughout the states you find the Summer of Science and Service between schools in Doha, Washington, DC and Boston.
Saudi Arabia has four programs.
Afghanistan’s program in Maine? Skyping about politics.
Azerbaijan – Measuring Carbon Footprints with Students Around the World

Example of the New York Times - craftily DISGUSTING and NO NEED FOR IT
Reporting the news has turned into a joke. Everywhere.
An event occurs and we immediately are presented by editorial slant in 2 ways.
In THIS ARTICLE the Times is reporting on an important new event set. Large amount of moneys are coming into advertising buys, not from the candidates, but from outside groups whose overall agenda may match the general purpose of the OPPOSITE candidate (these are ALL attack ads)
Once of the groups they cite (which MUST not be a 501c) they cite THIS GROUP which is pouring $1m late this week into buys for Ms Shaheen (who I once voted for for governor„ but never would have for Senator - we had moved to Maine by then). This group, whose name would yield a function, one would think would oppose the SUCCESSFUL message of Scott Brown, is instead buying adds touting Shaheen’s support for veterans.
OOOOOH. Nasty but quite american. Glad to know about that, Thank NY Times. Good going.
But they CAN’T STOP THEMSELVES.
I am not thrilled that some thinking folks, found ANOTHER way to get a message in to try and score points which I think is HARMFUL to the nation by saying one thing about veterans (which is NOT what those folks are about) in order to defeat someone who is opposed to illegal immigration, which IS what those folks are about.
There are other examples from both sides which make this point.
But I can live with it because efforts to suppress messaging which might be MISLEADING TO SOME, in order for the govt to have more power to ‘prevent’ purposefully misleading messaging will BE ABUSED.
IPSO FACTO. INARGUABLE. But the Times editorial point of view is that YOU IDIOTS OUT THERE must be more controlled to think CORRECTLY.
I will even live with the ‘wrong’ person getting elected every now and then by the balance being tipped RATHER than making this speech ILLEGAL for all who can attain it. We get the govt we deserve. Our choice.
You MORONS
Sooner or later under such a regime, a conservative with amoral goals would turn the focus of such power on them, just as an unthinking, unyielding, vicious Chicago borne admin has done so in the last 8 years, coarsening EVERYTHING.
How STOOOOOOOOOOOOOOPID can you be?
So the Times has to make sure they slip this kind of CRAP into the very activity which alerts citizens.
To dislike the activity of a few citizens is simply not enough to make their actions ILLEGAL FOR ALL.
Kafka.
A society in which all not forbidden is compulsory.
Is that the direction the Times REALLY wants?

- Report or ignore the event.
- Report the event with every conceivable edge taken to USE the event as a delivery method for your personal political serum?

The onslaught shows how fast and aggressive strategists and donors in both parties have become about using the array of tools now available for pouring a lot of late cash into races. The efforts are a byproduct of court rulings like Citizens United and lax enforcement by the election commission and the Internal Revenue Service. Now the Times makes a point by saying that this Immigration outfit with a misleading name DOES NOT disclose its contributors, and it would be nice to know them, but I CAN live without it if the donors are willing to forgo tax deductions to use their money as free speech for what they believe in. So why bring up the IRS which was exposed as attacking free speech ONLY by those to the right of the civil servants’ unions’ political goals.

“It’s yet another way to hide money from the public,” said Kathy Kiely, managing editor for the Sunlight Foundation, a nonprofit that advocates more transparent campaign spending. “What’s particularly insidious is that these are the late contributions that can sometimes tip the balance in a close race. And because of the timing, it looks like people are deliberately trying to mask the source of the money until after Election Day. If money is free speech, why are you standing on a soap box in a burqa?”I will live with it - both sides.
