Rabat – A mouse is said to have caused panic among hundreds of worshippers who were attending Taraweeh (post-Isha) prayers in the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca on Monday night, causing upheaval among those in attendance.
Hundreds of worshippers began shouting and screaming as they rushed outside the mosque after hearing screams from women’s area.Ok, now behold, here's the video:
It's utter pandemonium in the streets.
One wonders how a mouse could cause such chaos?
If this happened in a church, some women would scream, and people would rush out of aisles, and crowd to the side. Meanwhile, a group of men would assemble and attempt to corner the mouse and ease it out of the sanctuary.
That's how things work in the society in which I live.
But in Morocco, it's hundreds of people running back and forth screaming like a pack of monkeys in the streets.
Like out of a comedy film.
What the fuck?
Is it superstition that drives such a reaction. Did the mouse suddenly become a giant Djinn in the minds of the terrified followers of the moody moon god, Allah?
Or is it the quite reasonable expectation of Jihad breaking out anywhere and any time? Is it more of that behavior which has NOTHING TO DO WITH ISLAM, that always seems to follow Islam anywhere it goes in the world?

Imagine what the 6 foot long black snake in my basement would cause?
Just imagine the pandemonium that a few piglets could cause?
