From Hot Air:
H.R. McMaster was appointed NSA six weeks ago. If Bannon’s role on the Council ended with Flynn’s departure, why is he only being removed now? Have he and McMaster spent the past six weeks in a power struggle over whether he should remain on the Council, with Trump finally ruling in McMaster’s favor? Bannon himself offered a second explanation for his removal to the WSJ:
Mr. Bannon said in a statement:
“Susan Rice operationalized the NSC during the last administration. I was put on to ensure that it was de-operationalized. General McMaster has returned the NSC to its proper function.”
Is that the truth or an excuse conveniently timed to capitalize on the media attention this week to Susan Rice’s possible role in unmasking Trump personnel in surveillance reports last year?
It seems too cute by half.
But remember, one of the people who reportedly helped Devin Nunes access the intelligence reports he saw on incidental surveillance of Trumpers was Ezra Cohen-Watnick, the senior director for intelligence programs on the National Security Council. McMaster wanted Cohen-Watnick moved to a different position within the NSC after Flynn left — but Bannon and Jared Kushner intervened with Trump to keep him in place.
Was that because Bannon knew Cohen-Watnick was digging around on Rice’s “unmasking” measures and wanted him to continue, knowing that that story would be a useful counter to the Russiagate attacks on Trump?
If so, with the Rice stuff now out in the open, Bannon might no longer see a reason to continue on the NSC.GO READ THE WHOLE THING.

I believe its extremely detrimental to one's health if one keeps eating up MSM's words, especially after so many lies peddled by those assholes:

Clarification for my colleagues: Bannon wasn't removed from the NSC, only from the NSC principals committee. He still attends NSC meetings.

Bannon was never removed from the NSC. Tits need to be calmed I think.
Damn.
This is all too much intrigue for me -- what with this post-fall headache I have.
That said, I'm more concerned about McMasters and his inability to target "radical Islam" than I am in Bannon's possibly symbolic demotion.
If Trump quits saying "radical Islamic terrorism," we'll then know that we've been had bad.
Raven,
Bannon wasn't removed from the NSC, only from the NSC principals committee.
Significant point, IMO.
AOW,
This whole thing has been blown out of proportion. Bannon has the security clearance and he even attended the last meeting WHILE the media was asking the question as to "Why" Bannon was FIRED from the NSC. This is all ridiculous and folks on the right, with all the panic created by the media, are eating it up as if it were directly from God.
This might be a whole lot of nuthin' - but MSM trying to continue their spin that the Trump administration is in chaos. Personally, I doubt it.
Raven,
Good advice from you.
The msm are always playing us. We need to be on the lookout for that strategy.
Actually, I'm more concerned about McMasters than I am about Bannon.
TLEP,
The msm and the GOP establishment guys -- you know exactly who I mean -- are even promoting the ideas that (1) the Trump administration is in chaos and (2) DJP is mentally unhinged and should immediately be confined to a strait jacket and a padded cell.
Here's the thing, Deplorable Raven, Trump and Bannon created this by
1) promoting McMaster
2) giving no prior explanation for such a major change
3) releasing a wholly inadequate statement from Bannon.
We still don't know what the fuck is going on.
Your point that we shouldn't trust the media is well-taken, but we should be able to trust Trump and Bannon. And in this case, we certainly could not. They did not behave in a trustworthy manner.
'If so, with the Rice stuff now out in the open, Bannon might no longer see a reason to continue on the NSC.'
100% political class haram BOLOGNA
The principles committee MAKES POLICY. No one who has any ambition to see what;s in their head AFFECT THE WORLD leaves that for anything VOLUNTARILY
I can't tell you the proximate reason for this struggle and it's result. I firmly believe that it may even be personal ..look at the way McCain is behaving..but there is no doubt that in terms of having practical American solutions in OUR FAVOR from SOME KIND of conservative bent this is a loss and is PURELY contrary to the purpose for which I VOTED for Trump from an FP viewpoint
If you had told me that Trump would have his NSC run by a man with Mcmasters views on our struggle, it's possible I would have voted OTHERWISE (write in) for the to p office on the ballot.
This is EITHER a critical error of judgment and TRULY SCARY (in the view that true Islam has no connection with terrorism), or this s no error from Trump and we have been euchred.
That's IT This is binary
