Seymour Hersh simply needs to stop and emigrate

Over the years Mr. Hersh has gotten them correct (My Lai) and gotten them tragically wrong (Flight 007). But now he has demonstrated a political dialectic, and more probably an economic need to act in a manner not only detrimental to the american polity (who cares about that, so does Al Sharpton?) but also harmful to the will of the USA, expressed in the voting booth, and the safety of the people of the USA.

Mr. Hersh is claiming that the american army is a bunch of murderers who would be received in a fashion worse than the killer armies of My Lai faced upon return from Vietnam (i.e spat upon in airports). By the way the factless and silly Mcdill Daily credit Mr. Hersh with turning america against the war in Vietnam (funny I thought it was the way media shaped the huge military victory of Tet into a huge political loss).

In describing the situation we freely elected, by clear majority, Hersh says this:

“In Washington, you can’t expect any rationality. I don’t know if he’s in Iraq because God told him to, because his father didn’t do it, or because it’s the next step in his 12-step Alcoholics Anonymous program,” he said. Hersh hinted that the responsibility for the invasion of Iraq lies with eight or nine members of the administration who have a (CODE WORD ALERT) “neo-conservative agenda” and dictate the U.S.’s post-September 11 foreign policy.

Frustration of a Different Nature

WHY THEY HATE US: In my seminar the other day, one of my students remarked that terrorism is probably based on sexual frustration.

I strongly disagree. It might be a part of what motivates some terrorists (instant 72 virgins!) but it's not based on sexual frustration.

For if it were, the West wouldn't have to worry about Muslims in the West. Think about the following luminaries: Mohammad Atta and his eighteen buddies, the perpetrators of the Bali bombing, the British-born Muslims who carried out attacks in London, and the Canadian bunch who had a fertilizer fetish.

Did these cockroaches cause, or wanted to inflict, untold misery and suffering because they couldn't get laid?

Or maybe perhaps possibly they all have something else in common?

Given the fact that the impossible is beginning to happen in France, I propose the following codes and their respective courses of action:

(BBC) More than 70 Muslim workers at France's main airport have been stripped of the security clearance for allegedly posing a risk to passengers, officials say.

The staff at Charles de Gaulle airport, including baggage handlers, are said to have visited terrorist training camps in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

One man is thought to have been a friend of Richard Reid, the so-called British shoe bomber.

Van Gogh and the imam

Several sites, among them the great ones like Jihad Watch and LGF have posted about the sermon 'sheik' Fawaz Jneid of the as-Sunnah mosque in The Hague gave prior to the murder on Theo van Gogh. In the Dutch media and elsewhere the link has been made between this sermon, in which Fawaz calls on Allah to afflict van Gogh with a terrible disease for which there is no known cure. Especially since it has emerged that Mohammed Bouyeri and other members of the Hofstad group were or may have been attending the mosque when this sermon was given.

Yesterday evening the current events program NOVA (NL) asked the imam to explain himself. You can watch the segment here (click on 'BEKIJK ITEM') but the whole thing is in Arabic (the good imam apparently doesn't speak a word of Dutch) with Dutch subtitles.

In short: The imam claims the sermon was a way to 'channel the aggression against van Gogh in a peaceful way'. It was really a peaceful thing to do. It is better to let off steam in this way and he never condoned the murder of van Gogh. In fact, it was wrong and un-islamic. Because islam is (wait for it...) a Religion of Peace (tm).

The imam further claimed he and the members of the Hofstad group are anything but friends. According to the imam, he's received letters from members, including Bouyeri and Nouredin el F., currently on trial for planning terrorist attacks, in which they condemned him for not being u true muslim.

He further does not think he incited to violence (which, in all honesty, is true) and he does not expect to be in trouble with the ministry of Justice, even though the latter *have* started an investigation. Still, fervently and loudly wishing someone was dead: Couldn't that just possibly inspire someone else to grant you your wish?

First thought when seeing that segment: A religion that inspires such pent up hate and anger that the imam saw the urgent need to give such a noxious sermon just to prevent something worse from happening (which, as we all know, did not succeed), does such a religion truely deserve the label 'Peaceful'?

Anyway, in the same sermon Ayaan Hirsi Ali also got her share of the venom. She did contemplate filing charges against Fawaz, but decided against it (NL):

Our system of Justice is rational. With mysterious theological language and fatwah-like pleas there is no way to do anything. Bad luck for me.

She did however reject the notion that the sermon 'channeled' the anger among muslims:

You do not channel anger with screaming emotions

In the mean time we're coming up on the second anniversary of the murder on Theo van Gogh tomorrow. No official commemoration has been planned (NL. Cheap bastards!), but Peaktalk is doing a commemoration of its own, devoting the entire week to Theo van Gogh, Hirsi Ali and the freedom of expression.

Me, I have a pristine pack of Camels waiting for me in our smoking room (or 'the Blue Dungeon' as mrs. KV likes to call it). Tomorrow night I shall open the pack, pour a glass of fine scottish single malt whisky and smoke, and smoke, and smoke. It's what Theo would have wanted (heh) ... (1)

Malaysian Islamofascist Cops--"We did nothing wrong"

As I had predicted in my previous post on this incident, American retirees Mr. and Mrs. Randal Barnhart, who made the mistake of recently vacationing here in the Melayu Islamic Republic, are not likely to be receiving their desired compensation, let alone an apology, any time soon. If ever.

To quickly refresh everyone's memories (no doubt somewhat dulled by mass consumption of cheap Halloween candy), the Barnharts were the recent victims of a Malaysian Sharia Police raid on their rented condo at 2am. Their supposed crime? These 60-something criminal masterminds committed the dreadful Islamic sin of "Khalwat", AKA "close proximty". Actually, Carole and Randal should be hailed for that accomplishment, as most American marriages don't last 42 years, as the Barnharts have managed to do.

Widespread sexual frustration among Egypt's youths

A news ignored by the Egyptian media but brought out by Egyptian bloggers.

Egyptians are horrified by the news that women have been assaulted by hordes of young men in the centre of the capital, Cairo.

The incidents were first reported online by Egyptian bloggers, some of whom saw large number of men harassing the women and ripping off their clothes.

It all happened over the Eid al-Fitr period staring on 23 October, as thousands of young men thronged the streets of central Cairo to celebrate the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.

One blogger who took pictures of what happened dubbed the incidents "sexual voracity down town".

According to the bloggers, the attackers targeted veiled as well as unveiled women who happened to be on their own.

The state media ignored the incidents, but ordinary Egyptians where shocked when they heard for the first time eyewitness accounts broadcast on the private television channel Dream.

CASE #1: The American Textbook Council examined the coverage of Islam in seven widely adopted world history textbooks used in grades seven through twelve. In February 2003, it published its findings in a review, Islam and the Textbooks.

Since 2003, several reports have documented bias and evasions in world history textbooks. Textbooks misrepresent Islam past and present, critics agree. They contain fallacies and untruths about jihad, sharia, slavery, status of Muslim women, terrorism, and international security. These reviews independently reach the same conclusions. Most conspicuously, history textbooks whitewash the meaning of jihad. Houghton Mifflin's seventh-grade text, Across the Centuries, has come in for singular criticism. Houghton Mifflin's books dominate the nation's largest state, but they are in no way worse on this score than competing textbooks. Textbooks make no distinction between sharia and Western law, and they pretend that women are making great strides in the Islamic world, when all evidence indicates otherwise. Social studies textbooks ignore the global ambitions of militant Islam. They fail to explain that Muslim terrorists seek to destroy the United States and Israel. They omit geopolitical goals that include theocracy and world domination by religion.

And how could this come about? You guessed it.

Islamic organizations led by the Council on Islamic Education act as domestic textbook "censors." Strictly speaking, since only governments censor books, the Islamists are merely agents of suppression, using educational publishers to do their bidding. Publishers ignore those who press them about motives, funding, legal status, and strong-arm tactics on the part of their Muslim "consultants."

The latest example.

The latest evidence of Islamist influence is California's adoption of History Alive! The Medieval World and Beyond. According to the History Alive! The Medieval World and Beyond front matter, the chief author-advisor on Islam is Ayad Al-Qazzaz, professor of sociology at California State University, Sacramento. Al Quazzaz is a Muslim apologist, a frequent speaker in Northern California school districts promoting Islam and Arab causes. Al-Qazzaz also co-wrote AWAIR's Arab World Notebook. AWAIR stands for Arab World and Islamic Resources, an opaque, proselytizing "non-profit organization" that conducts teacher workshops and sells supplementary materials to schools. With History Alive! The Medieval World and Beyond, TCI is trying to sell a textbook to California schools that takes dictation from Islamist sources. The proximate question is whether the state's department of education and state school board will let this happen.

CASE #2: Even the Boy Scouts are not immune to the proselytizing of Jihad. In a post entitled Jihad Merit Badges For Boca Boy Scouts?, PipeLineNews called attention to the radical European Muslim community's newfound interest in youth scouting and how some of these recruits found themselves being used as instruments of terrorism in the 7/7 London bombings. It is therefore with a certain sense of alarm that we note this same phenomenon taking place in the United States.

When the Islamic Center of Boca Raton applied to the Gulfstream Council http://www.gulfstreamcouncil.org/0support.html for a charter to incorporate a Boy Scouts of America troop, they joined the approximately 95 Muslim troops nationwide. The BSA's national spokesman Gregg Shields told the Sun Sentinel that: "Boy Scout troops do not require that members adhere to a particular religious faith, as long as they profess belief in a higher power. We make so attempt to interpret God or the practice of religion. Really it's the role of the scout's family and his religious leaders. But what if the scout's family and religious leaders preach and practice jihad? This seems to be the case with ICBR, since the same website page which advertised the newly chartered troop also carries a piece claiming: "…it is the month of Jihad, and the first decisive battle in Islam, the Battle of Badr, occurred during Ramadan…"The same page which contains the Ramadan/jihad claim also announces a Boy Scout camp retreat with a sleepover on the ICBR grounds, perhaps a good opportunity to inspire the fledgling troop with tales of Mohammed's military conquests "...additionally the Messenger of Allah victoriously entered Mekkah during this blessed month" and explain why the "first decisive battle of Islam" represented only the beginning of a jihad to which they remain religiously obligated to wage.

And the activities of these troops are troubling.

Muslim scouts have been instructed on how to conduct Da'wa in a scouting situation, including being told to pray outside their tents in order to awake curiosity which then might lead to questions about religion. "The Muslim troops, in some ways, serve as goodwill ambassadors for their religion and people. They reach out to peers who might have little or no understanding of Islam and whose exposure to it comes from television images of terrorism and Muslim extremists. A Muslim Girl Scout troop from Santa Clara was featured in an ad campaign, "We're Americans and We're Muslims," sponsored by the Council on American-Islamic Relations. A picture of smiling Muslim troop members from a recent multicultural fair at the Islamic Center adorns the 2005 annual report of the Girl Scouts' San Diego-Imperial Council.

“In an age were cowardice borne of ACLU threatened lawsuits rules supreme, common sense and self-preservation are now mislabeled bigotry and discrimination. One must wonder if Muslim scouts and their leaders who succeed in convincing non-Muslims to convert to Islam will be given jihad merit badges?”

NYC Judge Refuses to Toss Terror Charges

Here's a story that will shock everyone, I'm just so sure ....

A judge refused to toss out charges against a jazz musician, a doctor and two other men accused of supporting terrorists.

Defense lawyers had argued that the men were arrested through entrapment and outrageous conduct by an overzealous government in late 2001, but U.S. District Judge Loretta A. Preska refused to dismiss the charges Monday.

She said evidence in the case could be viewed as showing the men had made statements and taken actions making them "predisposed to commit these crimes" even before the government sent a confidential informant to record their conversations.

The judge said trial will begin in April or June for Rafiq Abdus Sabir, a Florida doctor; jazz musician and martial arts expert Tarik Shah of New York; bookstore owner Abdulrahman Farhane of New York; and Washington, D.C., cab driver Mahmud Faruq Brent.

This is a dangerous stereotype....your muslim neighbor might really be ready to .....AND every survey bears this out.....but it can't be right....RIGHT? Can it?
It's my hope these guys were TURNED IN by those americans who happen to be muslim, that just can't stand this sh*t.

Danger signals, written with feet

Elvis Soto's variety store used to make money. But few customers have been walking through his door lately, and his merchandise _ calling cards, cell phones, car stereos, clothing _ is collecting dust on the shelves.

With bills mounting, Soto might have to take another job to stay afloat financially, and may even close the store.

On Wednesday, a tough, first-of-its-kind law targeting illegal immigrants goes into effect in this small hillside city in northeastern Pennsylvania. But the evidence suggests many Hispanics _ illegal or otherwise _ have already left.

That, in turn, has hobbled the city's Hispanic business district, where some shops have closed and others are struggling to stay open.

"Before, it was a nice place," said Soto, 27, who came to the United States from the Dominican Republic a decade ago. "Now, we have a war against us. I am legal but I feel the pressure also."

The ordinance, approved by City Council in September, imposes fines on landlords who rent to illegal immigrants and denies business permits to companies that give them jobs. The law empowers the city to investigate written complaints about a person's immigration status, using a federal database.

Mayor Lou Barletta, chief proponent of the new law, contends illegal immigrants have brought drugs, crime and gangs, overwhelming police and municipal budgets. He announced the crackdown in June, a month after two illegal immigrants from the Dominican Republic were charged in a fatal shooting.

If the problem is so large that businesses must close in Pennsylvania, it is our PERSONAL responsibility to make sure that BOTH border security, and sensible immigration policies are the result here.

We START with border security. Note that this law does NOTHING to the criminals who are here illegally, it PROPERLY targets americans who violate the laws for profit.

Foil Blogger "flag" button

By happy coincidence, I discovered that the "I stand with Israel" banner in the corner of my blog precludes anyone clicking on the flag. It must be extremely irritating to the insane folk trolling about the internet hoping to be offended, but hey, that's life.

It would follow that anyone who has the technological ability to create a similar banner, about anything at all, that hangs over the "flag" button could block its use. My suggestion would be a strip of bacon with a turban and accessorized with an understated bomb, but I'm sure there are better designers than me around.

What's unclear is if Kerry's comments will help rally Republican voters or help their party portray Democrats as against the troops to score victories next Tuesday. A Democratic congressman told ABC News Tuesday, "I guess Kerry wasn't content blowing 2004, now he wants to blow 2006, too."

The National Commander of The American Legion called on Sen. John Kerry to apologize for suggesting that American troops in Iraq are uneducated.

"As a constituent of Senator Kerry's I am disappointed. As leader of The American Legion, I am outraged," said National Commander Paul A. Morin. "A generation ago, Sen. Kerry slandered his comrades in Vietnam by saying that they were rapists and murderers. It wasn't true then and his warped view of today's heroes isn't true now."

BOSTON -- The mother of a local Marine who was killed in Iraq spoke out Tuesday about the comments that Sen. John Kerry made about U.S. troops and education.

NewsCenter 5's Jim Boyd reported Tuesday that while talking to a group of students in California, Kerry urged them to study hard or else they can "get stuck in Iraq."

"I am very disturbed. I am very insulted and very sad that he doesn't understand how highly educated and well trained our military men and women are," said Debra Booth, whose son was killed in Iraq.
