Are we are war or not? Is there not an enemy that wants to bring down Western civilization and all it stands for, and has at the very least, fielded a vicious army of thugs against us? If you read the vile anti-western rhetoric spewing from the ‘small number’ of Muslim extremists living in Europe and America, it is very clear that they want to overthrow the current democratic governments and impose their dream of an Islamic Empire upon the world.

And they don’t hide their intentions. Here’s just one example.

On February 3 this year, a group of Muslims gathered outside the Danish Embassy in Sloane Square, Chelsea. They were there to protest against the illustrations of Mohammed which had first appeared in the Jyllands-Posten newspaper on September 30 last year. Individuals, many with faces covered, screamed abuse and called for violence against those who insulted Islam. They bore placards emblazoned with the slogans: "Behead those who insult Islam", "Europe. Take some lessons from 9/11", "Europe you will pay. Demolition is on its way", "Europe you will pay. Your extermination is on its way," "Slay those who insult Islam," "Butcher those who insult Islam." The demonstration had been organized by Anjem Choudary, a former lawyer who headed the since-banned group Al Ghurabaa, whose members had mostly belonged to Omar Bakri Mohammed's Islamist group Al Muhajiroun.

The question we face is two fold.

1. How do we treat the ‘large’ number of moderate Muslims who do not respond to such rhetoric?
2. How do we respond to the ‘small number’ of Muslim extremists who seek to bring down the governments of the free world?

We can go on and on over who’s a moderate Muslim and who is not. How a moderate Muslim should act and how they should not. What a moderate Muslim should do or say and what they should not. The answers to these questions are fuzzy and have become little help in identifying the enemy in our midst.

But if we ignore the debate over moderate Muslims and face a threat that we can easily identify, we can send a message to the moderate Muslims that this is what we will accept in a time of war and this is what we will not. What we will accept is the right to free speech and disagreement – but not sedition. The words espoused above by Anjem Choudary are not words of disagreement of policy. They are the words of sedition intent on bringing down our society and destroying civilization.

Could you imagine members of an American Nazi Party standing on a street corner holding signs saying "Kill those who insult Hitler", "USA. Take some lessons from Europe", "America you will pay. Demolition is on its way", "America you will pay. Your extermination is on its way," "Slay those who oppose the Reich," "Butcher those who insult the Reich."

If they did, you can count on three fingers how fast their attitude would be changed by either the FBI or patriotic bystanders.

Against the backdrop of the NoKo's UN ambassador lunching with the Iranian UN ambassador every day last week, followed by the story of the new Arab nations group (Egypt, KSA, UAE, Morocco, and Algeria) to rapidly explore nuclear technology (gee, ya think the IAEA coming up with a stand to shut down Iran and NoKo would have been wise?) we have this piece of hilarity, viewed from any angle.

Saudi leaders cannot decide whether Iran is more of a threat than is Israel.

Saudi King Abdullah believes that Iran represents the greatest threat to the Gulf Arab kingdom and must be fought at any cost. The king regards Iran as intent on taking over the Sunni oil sheikdoms in the region, with Saudi Arabia being the biggest prize.

Abdullah sees Iran's leadership as intent on forming a Shi'ite arc that would dominate the Middle East and destroy the Sunni world. Already, Iran has in his view effectively taken over Iraq, Lebanon and Syria while making serious inroads in such countries as Bahrain, Jordan and the Palestinian Authority.

As a result, Abdullah wants to form an alliance with Israel and Jordan to prevent a Shi'ite takeover. The king's idea is for the three countries to cooperate against Iran both on its home court as well as in Iraq, Lebanon and Syria. The United States could be counted upon to support such an alliance.

The Battlefields of Freedom

As in past years, I left the region more inspired by our troops than I believe they were by me. They make me proud to be American. Their sacrifice also reminds me that freedom is born in adversity and purchased at a price.

As I looked in the eyes of these freedom fighters, I began to wonder about the world we would leave to our children, and the nation I would leave to my own children and grandchildren.

A Traditional Warrior Comes Out

I agree with Bill O'Reilly in his new book, ''Culture Warrior,'' that America is in an intense cultural battle that is transcending partisan politics or simple conservative-liberal debates.

At the heart of this war is a head-on clash between traditional and ''secular-progressive'' camps. Will we become a country, in which licentiousness and lawlessness reign? Or will we maintain being a traditional nation, based upon the values and philosophies that our forefathers established?

I am an unashamed traditional warrior. What that means to me is that I believe our country was founded upon conservative faith and values, and that it will only be sustained by them as well.

My concern for our culture wars, however, goes far beyond our own shores.

From Culture Battles to World Wars

Right now, in the very center of this culture war (bubbling up even in the election) is the war in Iraq. Everyone is taking a side: Should we stay, change or abandon the course?

Here's where I stand.

Whatever the reasons we went in, we're there now. Our troops are there. And they are fighting for the freedom and democracy of more than 12 million Iraqis, who courageously went to the polls months ago to establish a new constitution and government.

At the same time, I also believe our service men and women are fighting for America in Iraq. Yes, America, or more specifically, our children, grandchildren and even great-grandchildren.

President Bush explained it well in his recent interview with Bill O'Reilly:

''Here's the stakes, as far as I'm concerned. It is conceivable that within decades, the Middle East will be a place where moderate governments have been toppled, extremists and radicals will have gained control of oil resources ... to create a blackmail situation against the West and Iran will have a nuclear weapon, to complicate the mix. And 20 or 30 years from now if that is the case, people will say, 'what happened to them? How come you couldn't see the threat as a generation of Americans are dealing with something much more violent than we are seeing today?''

The fact is our soldiers are fighting for freedom in Iraq. At the same time, they are also fighting for the future preservation of freedom here in America, just as all our veterans did.

The Price of Freedom

No one likes war, least of all me. Being personal friends of the Bush family, I can assure you they don't like it either.

We all felt the same when we heard about the 100-plus troops who have died in Iraq in just the past month. One is always too many.

Each of them has a family left behind – those who will suffer over the holidays and beyond because of the bravery of their loved ones.

I do understand their pain, every time I think about my brother, Wieland, who also paid the ultimate price in Vietnam. I'll never forget when I received the news. I miss him still, all the time.

My brother fought a foreign war, as many of our service members do today. I refuse to believe that he died in vain. I also refuse to believe those 100 souls (plus the hundreds previously) did as well.

Their sacrifice makes me think of Jesus' words, "Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.'' I'm assuming that includes world friends and neighbors too.

Don't Be MIA on Election Day

You might not be in the military, but you can certainly still fight for freedom, right here on our own shores. How? By voting!

With the culture wars at full tilt, it is somewhat surprising that expected voter turn out is forecasted as low as 35 percent. This is particularly troubling since Democrats only need to pick up six seats to gain a majority in the 100-seat Senate. They need only 15 seats out of the 435-seat House to achieve their first majority since being swept out of power in 1994.

To not vote is simply a vote for the opposition. As British statesman Edmund Burke once said, ''Evil flourishes when good men do nothing.''

Two "College Students" Arrested Trespassing At Heinz Field

PITTSBURGH (AP) -- Two college students were charged with criminal trespass and criminal conspiracy after police said they tried to break into Heinz Field early Sunday, hours before the Pittsburgh Steelers were to play the Denver Broncos.

Paul Sudeep and Anand Durvasula both Carnegie Mellon University students, attempted to climb the fence around the stadium at about 2 a.m. and were caught by surveillance cameras, Police Chief Nate Harper said.

The men cooperated after being apprehended, telling police they had tickets to the game Sunday afternoon and "decided to check things out so they knew where to go," Harper said.

Police found a video camera and tripod in the Lexus sport utility vehicle they were driving. Harper said Sudeep, a 21-year-old film student, was planning to film the final part of a music video featuring the 20-year-old Durvasula at Heinz Field.

"We don't know exactly what their intentions were," Harper said. He added that if the men were trying to locate their seats, "they really could have gone online ... versus coming over and trying to make entry into the stadium."

The pair opened an exterior door at one of the stadium gates, but did not go inside, Harper said. They then continued walking around the stadium, carrying a folding chair. They returned to the gate and Durvasula stepped on the chair and began climbing the fence when stadium security and police arrived, Harper said.

The Joint Terrorism Task Force -- made up of the FBI, city and Allegheny County police, and the county sheriff's office -- conducted a sweep of the stadium with bomb-detecting dogs and found no explosives, Harper said.

The men were being questioned by the terrorism task force, and Harper said the investigation was continuing. Police have added security to make sure the stadium is safe for the 4:15 p.m. game.

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said the league was notified about the incident. "From all we're being told, it's nothing to be concerned about," Aiello said.

Will miracles never cease? Back in June, the DO of Sweden claimed that school endings in church is "unsuitable". SVD today reports that DO (discrimination ombudsman) says that the traditional school endings in Sweden are unsuitable since non-Christian children can feel "left out". She also claims that the classic song "Den blomstertid nu kommer" also is unsuitable, since there's a line where "God" is mentioned.

Another example of how low the status of the Swedish culture and traditions has become in Sweden itself. The left wingers pay no tribute or value to what Sweden really is, but instead tries to erase the Swedish culture in the name of multiculturalism. Not accepting that Sweden is Christian and that Sweden has certain traditions (religious or not) is a total lack of respect. Sweden should not adapt to the immigrants demands - but the opposite.

But just this week, some in the government see the threat to Swedish culture and are speaking out.

Sweden’s outspoken new integration minister contributed to a growing debate in Europe about Islamic veils on Thursday, saying headscarves had the effect of “isolating” Muslim schoolgirls. Nyamko Sabuni also told Reuters in an interview she was closely watching the outcome of a dispute over a school that barred a nine-year-old from wearing a headscarf. “The headscarf is a means of isolating the girl from her surroundings,” she said.

Sabuni, 37, became Sweden’s first black cabinet minister following September elections that brought a centre-right government to power after 12 years of Social Democratic rule. Sabuni contends she does not single out Islam.

“I level criticism against all religions and the patriarchal tendency religions sometimes have,” she said. “I am not intolerant of immigrants. I am intolerant of oppression such as genital mutilation, arranged marriages and virginity checks,” she said.

Well said. Multiculturalist politically correct socialists take note of her definition if intolerance.

Senior Anglican Bishop Speaks Out Against Muslim Hypocrisy

A senior Anglican bishop has accused many Muslims of being guilty of double standards in their view of the world.

The Bishop of Rochester, Michael Nazir-Ali, told the Sunday Times some had a "dual psychology" in which they sought "victimhood and domination".

The Muslim Council of Britain said the comments were "not very helpful".

The bishop, whose father converted from Islam, also said situations such as teaching could require Muslim women not to wear full-face veils.

Mr Nazir-Ali argued it would never be possible to satisfy all of the demands made by Muslims because "their complaint often boils down to the position that it is always right to intervene when Muslims are victims... and always wrong when Muslims are the oppressors or terrorists".
He compared Bosnia and Kosovo, where he said Muslims were oppressed, with the powerful position of the Taleban in Afghanistan, who he said had been the oppressors.

He added: "Given the world view that has given rise to such grievances, there can never be sufficient appeasement and new demands will continue to be made."


And now, check out this statement from the Muslim Council of Britain:


Muhammad Abdul Bari, secretary-general of the Muslim Council of Britain, told the Sunday Times such remarks could affect "community relationships".


What the .... ? Affect "community relationships"? That's a subtle-assed threat if I've ever heard one.

Why doesn't the Muslim Council of Britain deal with the substance of what the man said? Answer; because they can't.

Fr. Nazir-Ali also weighed in on the veil debate:


The bishop's comments on the use of full-face veils by Muslim women add to the debate sparked by Commons Leader Jack Straw, the former foreign secretary, last month.

In the Sunday Times, Mr Nazir-Ali referred to a "huge increase" in the wearing of Muslim dress in Egypt, Pakistan and Malaysia. He said: "I can see nothing in Islam that prescribes the wearing of the full-face veil. "In the supermarket those at the cash till need to be recognised. Teaching is another profession in which society requires recognition and identification."

Hussein was convicted of ordering the killings of 148 men and boys from the town of Dujail, about 35 miles north of Baghdad, following a failed assassination attempt against him there in 1982. Hussein's presidential convoy was passing through the town when it was shot at. In response, he and other top Iraqi officials at the time order the round-up of hundreds of people, and the town's buildings were razed and it's orchards destroyed.

Ten of the people executed were boys ranging in ages from 11 to 17 at the time of the incident. The government held them in jail until they were 18, then hanged them.

The verdict climaxed a 12-month trial, conducted by the Iraqi High Tribunal and backed by the U.S. government, that arose from one of many atrocities Hussein is accused of committing during 24 years of brutal, one-man rule.

Saddam, wearing a dark grey suit and white shirt, initially refused to stand before judge Rauf Abdel Rahman as the verdict and sentence were read out. But he was brought to his feet by two bailiffs.

I have never been for the death penalty but in the case of a mass murderer at the head of a nation, there is no punishment that could be more appropriate.

What wil the response to our ridicule be?

I am wondering what our continuously outraged Muslim friendlies at home are going to do next to obtain their goals of silencing all criticism? What will the religion of perpetual outrage do about the facts thrown in their faces daily? Not to mention the well deserved accompanying ridicule? The Danish cartoons were just an element, a beginning. And consider the reaction that got.

Burning flags gets expensive in the long run and I think by the 50th flag the pleasure is somewhat less. Also the Western camera crews by then won't pay much any more for the spectacle. So what will happen? Demonstrations can be cool as family outings just like the First of May have been for the socialists in Europe for many years. The day off, a good outing in the free, with some political speeches, nice bands and lots to drink...

Oops, you Muslims don't drink - so you won't have that much fun with the demonstrations - as they do tend to get tedious without drink. Screaming for hours every day will ruin your voice as well. And somebody has to pay all those bullets you manly men shoot into the air... (By the way, what does happen to people hit by bullets falling out of the sky? The bullets do come down back - don't they? What a nuisance! Not to mention cleaning the Holy Guns afterwards)

Nope - what then? Well - there are protests to the UN and any other similar dysfunctional appeasing organizations. After all your Muslim human rights are being infringed in the most terrible way. Has Jyllandsposten, that evil Danish paper, not forced every single of you 1,2 billion Muslims or so to study the cartoons in detail and read the accompanying blasphemous words?! Stop. Half of you people can't read. Well, that still leaves 600 million, which we all agree is a rather large number. And all are upset. How do we know? Well - wouldn't you know - every single one was asked...

Jyllandsposten and other blasphemers (do we need a bloggers malpractice insurance?) should be forced to pay a compensation to every single Muslim (except the blind ones of course and maybe only half to the ones who can't read). Special payments for all the apoplectic cases. Several thousand must have died either dehydrated from frothing or overstrained hearts... And the stampedes, we must not forget the stampedes at Mecca - my, my.

Sorry, lost the track there. Surely you Muslim smart guys will still seek the ears of all the dhimmies (especially left wing appeasing apologists) in Europe. Unfortunately, by now it looks like they are becoming a minority according to polls. Even former super PC politicians are demanding head scarves off. So that won't help much. Just a lot of senseless noise. The majority of Europeans are getting rather pissed off, excuse the French (pun intended)...

But the French youth uprisings (disclaimer: The word youth by definition excludes anybody Muslim and/or with Muslim ancestors or anybody with Muslim sympathies) organized in the right manner and with a little support from homegrown peace organizations such as green Hizbollah and amnesty Al-Qaeda with el Beep as the PR agency do in fact have a some chance of success. The only major problem is that it serves as a huge eye opener... It would be smarter to wait until Europeans are in the minority and that will still take a few decades.

Nope, not the best way either. Hmmh - there still is the Holy Boycott. That is really a good weapon! And you know what - it is a democratic one too and a human right. The common Muslim citizen (women excluded of course) might actually learn some democracy that way. It might cost us Western nations a few percent in exports -not that it will matter much for the rich Western world at all, even in the long run. And can you guys really live without any goods from the Western world? The Arabs for ones don't produce anything at all except at few trinkets and such. The boycott will still initially give you Muslim victims some powerful allies in the west. People with money and investments in Muslim countries (we all know those are Jews as only the Jews have money). But then again it would demand a complete boycott for a while, which is unlikely. I mean how long time do you think the Arab playboys can stay away from real women, Southern France, designer clothes and fast cars? And I will let you in on a secret. A Boeing 747 pleasure plane takes a lot of maintenance and spare parts! Those solid gold faucets just start dripping with no excuse what so ever.

But there is Holiest of the Holy Boycotts. The boycott of oil. Or just rising the price to the double and a bit. But - we Westerners get really upset when our car doesn't work and the house gets cold - and when all the plastics start disappearing. Have you any idea what this would do to our effort to pollute the entire planet in the most efficient manner? Nope - can't let you Muslims do that. We would have to invade. Worse for you even - we would not be able to produce designer clothes and fast cars...

Nah, the Holy Boycott is not it either. Now, dear Muslims, we come to some of your favorite solutions. Westerners to the grave. Threats. Violence. Death. God to honest bloody stuff. The Muslims armies will sunder forth and squash the infidels...

Sorry, your Muslim armies aren't up to it - too little equipment and let's face it: The Arab soldier is one of the worst in the world. But that still leaves Terrorism. Yes, good old Terror. Dead children is such an art form. Only a specialty of the most specialized peaceful holy cultures. Yes, that one works. But there are some problems. Without WMDs it is just not that effective. It will be very difficult to get a number of victim infidels (oxymoron?) higher than say for example traffic victims a year. WMDs take technical know how - and while Muslims can recite the Quaran forth and back any given day - your kids just don't learn unimportant skills such as math, physics, biology, engineering and other likewise boring and useless stuff.

Nope, the number of victims won't be enough for us to stop ridiculing. And do consider: Experienced suicide bombers are hard to come by! And just who did invent WMDs in the first place?

But, my Muslim friends - despair not. You have faith and you have the Prophet (pieces be upon him). Prayer is the answer - let Allah smite the infidels. It just takes prayer. You see God/Allah loves blood and peace not at all. Extinction is just such an appropriate answer to a cartoon.

Santiago And The Moors Are At It Again

There is a very important legend in Spanish Medieval History related to Santiago Matamoros (Santiago Kill-the-Moors). In the battle of Clavijo, it is said to have appeared and have helped the Christian Castillians against the Muslims to achieve victory. Since then, a lot of Spanish Catholic churches have contained portraits or sculptures of the Saint riding a horse and with a sword in his right hand, in a not very multicultural way. Santiago is also the Spanish Patron.

So the Islamist threats have ended calling for the dissapearance of these traditional Spanish figures. Last one has been the portrait in the Chruch at Ortexa (found at Al otro lado de la Galaxia).


The neighbours at Ortexa are totally opposed to a possible displacement of the image that the Church of San Jaime has in its altar, a Santiago Apostle, as asked by a alleged Muslim citizen in a letter sent to the Major, Vicente Llinares Sellés.In that letter, signed by Hasán Alí ben Zayyán ben Ibrahim and received by the Major’s office last Monday, the portrait is considered as “offensive to Islam” because the Saint is on horseback and over a Muslim.
