Bahrain on their appt of jewish ambassador to the USA -'This is not a public relations move'

bahraini_ambassador.jpg

MANAMA (AFP) - Bahrain's anticipated appointment of a Jewish woman as ambassador to the United States - the first for an Arab country - is not a public relations stunt, a senior official said on 31 May. "This is not a public relations move," the official told AFP, referring to the expected naming soon of Huda Nunu as the Gulf kingdom's ambassador to Washington. The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said King Hamad informed US officials during a visit to Washington in March of Bahrain's intention to name Nunu. The Jewish population amounts to no more than 37 among a total of around 530,000 people. "This move is not propaganda. It reflects a climate of tolerance towards minorities in Bahrain," which is ruled by a Sunni dynasty and has a disgruntled Shiite majority. Nunu will be the third Bahraini woman to be appointed as an ambassador

Algeria Shuts Down 26 Protestant Churches

Authorities in the overwhelmingly Muslim nation of Algeria have closed half of the Protestant churches in the country over the last six months, alerted persecution watchdog groups this week.

Authorities in the overwhelmingly Muslim nation of Algeria have closed half of the Protestant churches in the country over the last six months, alerted persecution watchdog groups this week.

Twenty-six Algerian churches were shut down either by official written order or verbal warning since November 2007, according to Open Doors USA. The churches, ranging in size from several dozens to more than 1,000 members, are victims of a recent aggressive campaign against Christians.
dhimmi2.jpg
It is feared that if persecution continues all the churches will be closed by the end of the year.
But hey, there's a good reason. From Reuters ....

Abu Amrane Chikh, head of the government-appointed Higher Islamic Council, said uproar in the West over a recent prosecution of an Algerian woman on a charge of practising Christianity was being fomented for the benefit of foreigners.

"There are some church evangelists and reformist journalists who want to sow discord among brothers, and their long-term political goal is to create a Christian minority coupled with some foreign institutions," he said in an interview with the website of the El Khabar daily newspaper.

"This is a new form of colonization that is hidden behind freedom of worship," said Chikh, whose body regulates religious practice in the former French colony.

"The evangelist movement is characterized by a secret activity that violates the Koran and the Sunna in one way or another," he said, referring to Islam's holy book and Islamic practice based on words and deeds of the Prophet.

Coupled with the story from Birmingham, one can only wonder where Islam's Dorian Gray portrait resides.

Is Handing Out Bibles To Muslims A Crime In The UK?

A police community support officer ordered two Christian preachers to stop handing out gospel leaflets in a predominantly Muslim area of Birmingham.

The evangelists say they were threatened with arrest for committing a "hate crime" and were told they risked being beaten up if they returned. The incident will fuel fears that "no-go areas" for Christians are emerging in British towns and cities, as the Rt Rev Michael Nazir-Ali, the Bishop of Rochester, claimed in The Sunday Telegraph this year.

Arthur Cunningham, 48, and Joseph Abraham, 65, both full-time evangelical ministers, have launched legal action against West Midlands Police, claiming the officer infringed their right to profess their religion.

Mr Abraham said: "I couldn't believe this was happening in Britain. The Bishop of Rochester was criticised by the Church of England recently when he said there were no-go areas in Britain but he was right; there are certainly no-go areas for Christians who want to share the gospel."

Last night, Christian campaigners described the officer's behaviour as "deeply alarming".

The preachers, both ministers in Birmingham, were handing out leaflets on Alum Rock Road in February when they started talking to four Asian youths.

A police community support officer (PCSO) interrupted the conversation and began questioning the ministers about their beliefs.

They said when the officer realised they were American, although both have lived in Britain for many years, he launched a tirade against President Bush and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Mr Cunningham said: "I told him that this had nothing to do with the gospel we were preaching but he became very aggressive.

"He said we were in a Muslim area and were not allowed to spread our Christian message. He said we were committing a hate crime by telling the youths to leave Islam and said that he was going to take us to the police station."
Commenter Her Royal Whyness adds:
it goes on and on and on ad infinitum.. . .
yet Christians are penalized for returning the favor - in a Christian country (where's the Church of England?

Iranian Foreign Minister Calls On Muslims To "Erase Israel"

From the Sydney Morning Herald:

Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki called on the world's Muslims
today to work to "erase" Israel, in the latest verbal attack by Tehran against
the Jewish state.

"As the Imam Khomeini said, if each Muslim throws a bucket of water on
Israel, Israel will be erased," Mottaki told a conference in Tehran, recalling a
saying by Iran's late revolutionary leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has sparked international outrage for his
repeated attacks against Israel, which he has predicted is doomed to disappear
and described as a "stinking corpse" and a "dead rat".

His most notorious attack was in 2005 when he repeated another saying
from Khomeini calling for Israel to be "wiped from the map".

Mottaki added: "More than ever, the Zionist regime is disintegrating
from within. Today, the Islamic resistance in this region has shattered the
regime's legend of invincibility."

Iran vehemently denies charges of anti-Semitism, pointing to the continued
existence in the country of the largest Jewish community in the Middle East
outside Israel and saying it is only against Zionism.

Some of Iran's best friends are Jews.

Meanwhile, down the road a little way, Iranian-supported terrorist organization Hizb'allah (Hizbollah) is doing their part to see that Israel is erased.

Obama: "It Was Going To Be Very Difficult To Continue Our Membership, So Long As I Was Running For President"

Barack Obama does not care that Trinity United is a church filled with hateful messages, cheered on by hateful people. But, he does recognize the political reality that his affiliation with the Church will be hurtful to his campaign.

That is why he is resigning from the Church. There is no other reason.

He says so himself in this video.

Breaking News: Barack Obama Ends His Association With The Black Race

From Rooters:

ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) — Barack Obama said Saturday he has ended his 46-year stint as a member of the black race "with some sadness".

"This is not a decision I come to lightly ... and it is one I make with some sadness," he said at a news conference, called on a Saturday in order to avoid the intense scrutiny of the press.

"I'm not denouncing the black race and I'm not interested in people who want me to denounce the black race," he said, adding that his fellow African-Americans "have been suffering from the attention my campaign has focused on them."

Obama said he and his wife have been discussing the issue since Pastor Jeremiah Wright's appearance at the National Press Club in Washington last month that reignited furor over remarks he had made in various sermons at Trinity United Church of Christ.

"I suspect we'll find another race for our family to identify with," Obama said.

Pope Cancels Meetings With Seven World Leaders To Avoid Ahmadinejad

These are extraordinary lengths to go to avoid having to be in the presence of one man. He has taken the chance of alienating seven other world leaders. Of course, it may be that the Pope does not want to meet with people who will meet with Ahmadinejad.

From the Telegraph:

Benedict XVI has cancelled meetings with seven world leaders to avoid an encounter with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran.

Mr Ahmadinejad is one of 40 heads of state arriving in Rome on Tuesday for a vital United Nations summit on the world’s food crisis.

Mr Ahmadinejad was keen to meet Benedict XVI, after writing to him two years ago on the subject of spirituality and the need for dialogue between Islam and Christianity.

Relations between Iran and the Holy See are warming, and Mr Ahmadinejad said the Vatican was a “positive force for justice and peace” in April after meeting with the new nuncio to Iran, Archbishop Jean-Paul Gobel. Benedict is also thought to have the support of several leading Shia clerics, including Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani in Iraq.

Obama Has An Iranian Agent Advising Him On Iran?

Gateway Pundit says it may be true.

Anti-Mullah has more background information.

Mr. Trita Parsi seems to be an Islamic Republic lobbyst. He is not an American. He is an Iranian, with Swedish citizenship, and yet he started an organization called the National Iranian-American Council (NIAC).

Below you will find a video featuring Trita Parsi speaking to the Congressional Progressive Caucus, and being introduced by Representative Barbara Lee. (Barbara Lee is, of course, the politician who gained national attention in 2001 as the only member of congress to vote "No" on the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Terrorists (AUMF).)

In this video, Trita Parsi makes it clear he is opposed to the Bush Administration making "tactical maneuvers" in order to "strengthen the drive for sanctions."

This guy is a master wordsmith (read Taqiyya). He praises the Bush Administration, and then accuses them of using a war-first approach, and then criticizes legitimate policy as being part of that war-first approach.

Here is another interview from the BBC which makes it very clear that Trita Parsi opposes sanctions, and favors "diplomacy" as a solution, "talking without preconditions."

Those are his words. Watch it.

Another Atrocity Committed By The Religion Of Peace

From this June 1, 2008 article in the Guardian:
Leila Hussein lived her last few weeks in terror. Moving constantly from safe house to safe house, she dared to stay no longer than four days at each. It was the price she was forced to pay after denouncing and divorcing her husband - the man she witnessed suffocate, stamp on, then stab their young daughter Rand in a brutal 'honour' killing for which he has shown no remorse.

Though she feared reprisals for speaking out, she really believed that she would soon be safe.
Arrangements were well under way to smuggle her to the Jordanian capital, Amman. In fact, she was on her way to meet the person who would help her escape when a car drew up alongside her and two other women who were walking her to a taxi. Five bullets were fired: three of them hit Leila, 41. She died in hospital after futile attempts to save her.

Her death, on 17 May, is the shocking denouement to a tragedy which had its origins in an innocent friendship between her student daughter, Rand Abdel-Qader, 17, and a blond, 22-year-old British soldier known only as Paul.

She died, still a virgin, four months after she had last seen him when her father, Abdel-Qader Ali, 46, discovered that she had been seen talking 'to the enemy' in public. She had brought shame on his honour, was his defence, and he had to cleanse his family name. Despite openly admitting the murder, he has received no punishment.

It was two weeks after Rand's death on 16 March that a grief-stricken Leila, unable to bear living under the same roof as her husband, found the strength to leave him. She had been beaten and had had her arm broken. It was a courageous move. Few women in Iraq would contemplate such a step. Leila told The Observer in April: 'No man can accept being left by a woman in Iraq. But I would prefer to be killed than sleep in the same bed as a man who was able to do what he did to his own daughter.'

Her words were to prove prescient...

Torture Trial In California

Via Right Truth comes this news article:
For weeks, the three wives of Mansa Musa Muhummed and most of their 19 children have been telling a jury countless stories of torture and starvation that they kept to themselves for years.

Muhummed sat in a desert courthouse with a hand over his face, shaking his head in denial as family members described being beaten, strung up by their feet and forced to eat vomit and feces.

"It is the worst case we've ever heard of," prosecutor Julie Baldwin said last week.

The alleged atrocities went undetected by social service agencies, and police now have Muhummed, 55, facing up to seven life sentences if convicted of a raft of abuse charges....
More at the above link.

On broadcast after broadcast from the mainstream media and for week after week, we hear about the FLDS compound in Texas. But nothing about the above?

Sure, maybe Muhammed is innocent; stranger things have happened. On the other hand, maybe mentioning the name "Muhammed" is akin to not using other words now unacceptable to the politically correct.

Lying, Cheating, Intimidation and Corruption, A Way of Life in Oman

I found this interesting little personal log of an infidel living in civilized Oman. He has some interesting stories to tell. Here are some.

Last semester, the Foundation Year students seemed to be passing on test info to friends in other classes that took the same weekly tests later in the week. One teacher decided to prove the point and make them learn something. So, she arranged the same questions in a different order. (The students only memorized the answers such as: A, C, D, B...) Well, the entire class got a zero! The students went to the dean and complained that the teacher "had tricked them". The teacher was told to be fair and give them another test!

Great news everyone - we have nothing to worry about from Iran

Iran not seeking to build nuclear weapons: Putin
Isn't that great? Now I can go back to bing upset about Cook vs Archuletta.

Iran is not trying to acquire nuclear weapons but Tehran should avoid "irritating" its neighbours, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said Saturday in an interview with French newspaper Le Monde.
putin_ahmad.jpg

Putin, who was in Paris for two days of meetings with President Nicolas Sarkozy and other French leaders, said there was no indication Iran was building its own nuclear arsenal.

But he admitted that Iran's compliance with investigations by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) was still a "point to be resolved."

Asked if Iran was trying to acquire nuclear weapons, Putin replied: "I don't believe so. Nothing indicates it."

"The Iranians are a proud people," he went on. "They want to enjoy their independence and exercise their legitimate right to civil nuclear power.

NOTHING could make this clearer that Vladimir Putin's comment.

The Russians are on the other side.

The Russian foreign policy is that nothing bad for them can come from a nuclear armed Iran.

They are complete morons.

Polygamy In Ontario

Via Dhimmi Watch and from this source:
It’s an issue the Liberal govenrment of Ontario, led by Premier Dalton McGuinty, doesn’t want to deal with — polygamy in the Muslim community. Last week the Toronto Star told the story of Safa Rigby, a 35-year-old mother of five children who recently learned her husband of 14 years had two other wives. Ms. Rigby’s life is in tatters. She followed her husband’s advice that she leave Toronto and live in Egypt for a year on the grounds that it would be better for their children to spend more time in a Muslim country. Now she knows it was a ruse. He used her time there to marry two other women.

Ms. Rigby does not support polygamy, which has been illegal in Canada for more than a century. But Toronto Imam Aly Hindy, who runs the Toronto Salahuddin Islamic Centre, does. He married Ms. Rigby’s husband knowing he already had a wife and counselled him to keep the marriage secret from Ms. Rigby for as long as possible. Hindy has by his own admission performed 30 ceremonies in which men were married who already had wives. When Ms. Rigby confronted Hindy his response was reportedly cold and unsympathetic: “You will have to stand beside him in these difficult times,” Hindy told her. “You should stop causing problems to (sic) him. You will not get anything by divorce except destroying your life” he went on to say.

For Hindy this is not about Ms. Rigby or her husband’s desire to marry another woman — but making a broader political point.

Hindy is using polygamy as a proxy for his fundamentalist version of Islam, something he wants to see legitimized in Canadian society as a whole.
