Maher: The More You Know About Islam, The More Afraid Of It You Are, Intolerant Christians ‘Really Aren’t a Problem’

From Breitbart:
HBO host Bill Maher argued that it isn’t true that people wouldn’t be as afraid of Islam if they knew more about it, “Actually, it’s the reverse” and that he wished liberals would “have the same enthusiasm for intolerance elsewhere in the world as they do for Christians here at home, who really aren’t a problem, because they don’t get really get their way” on Friday’s “Real Time.”
Maher, after referencing the covering up of nude statues in Italy during a visit by Iran’s president said, “I think people are mixing up two things, tolerance and capitulation.” He added, “It’s one thing to be tolerant of another culture, but this is our culture. You know, Christianity did have a problem with t*tties like in 1300, but we got over it. So, we shouldn’t change our culture to a more backward culture, should we?”
Talk radio host Thom Hartmann countered by citing the Justice Department putting curtains in front of a nude statue during John Ashcroft’s tenure as Attorney General and saying, “This is not a Muslim problem. This is a fundamentalist problem. Maher objected, “Except when it happened in this country, the liberals laughed at him, and they opposed him. I wish they would have the same enthusiasm for intolerance elsewhere in the world as they do for Christians here at home, who really aren’t a problem, because they don’t get really get their way. It’s laughable.”
Hartmann then said, “Except that he covered that for four years.” Maher responded, “But nobody thought it was realistic.” Hartmann maintained that “a lot of Republicans” did. Former Congressman Trey Radel (R-FL) later wondered, “What about if we go, the next time we show up, an entourage to Iran, are they going to be — I want them decked out in muscle t-shirts, with those ’80s shorts with the American flag all over them. Are they going to do that for us? No.”
Maher added, “I think liberals have to stop insisting that the world is the way they want to it be instead of the way it is.”
He then pointed to folk singer James Twyman’s efforts to do a concert in ISIS-controlled territory to hopefully stop ISIS’ violence. Maher then argued, “[Y]ou cannot just insist that the reality that you think about in your head is the reality that exists in the world. After the San Bernardino attacks, we were off the next week, but I heard all over TV, this — everybody was saying, ‘If only Americans knew more about Islam, they wouldn’t be so afraid.’ Actually, it’s the reverse.”
Hartmann then pointed to moderate Islamic groups on the ground.
Maher responded, “We have to be on their side, not on the people who say ‘Islamophobe,’ who just help the enablers.”
Hartmann later stated, “I think back to all the years that I’ve been debating right-wingers who have been like, ‘Immigrants have to learn English first!’ And, you know, it actually makes a certain amount of sense. … It seems like the first step in any country, including in the United States, and we’re starting to do this now in our public schools, but we need to do it more extensively, is to bring — when people come in from another culture to, say ‘You know, your culture’s fine, but here’s our culture.'”
Maher responded, “Well, it isn’t fine, and I just hope that the civics guidebook in Sweden is more persuasive than the Koran, but I doubt it is.”

The US Mosque Obama Has Chosen For His First Presidential Visit Is Tied To The Muslim Brotherhood

From the Daily Caller:
The Baltimore mosque President Obama has chosen as the first U.S.-based mosque to visit during his presidency has deep ties to extremist elements, including to the Muslim Brotherhood.
The White House announced on Saturday that Obama will visit the Islamic Society of Baltimore (ISB) on Wednesday. He has visited several mosques overseas as president but has resisted visiting one in the homeland.
The purpose of the trip, according to the White House, is to “celebrate the contributions Muslim Americans make to our nation and reaffirm the importance of religious freedom to our way of life.”
But ISB is a curious choice for Obama’s first domestic visit. The mosque is a member of a network of mosques controlled by the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), a Muslim civil rights group named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the 2008 Holy Land Foundation terror case.
Several executives with that organization were convicted of sending money to aid the terrorist group Hamas.
An imam who served at ISB for a total of 15 years has also been a leading member of the Muslim Brotherhood network and has worked for an Islamic relief group that was designated as a terrorist organization by the Treasury Department in 2004.
Mohammad Adam el-Sheikh, who served two stints as ISB’s imam, from 1983 to 1989 and from 1994 to 2003, was a member of the Muslim Brotherhood in Sudan in the 1970s. He also co-founded the Muslim American Society, a Falls Church, Va.-based group that is controlled by the Muslim Brotherhood.
While in Baltimore, el-Sheikh served as a regional director for the Islamic American Relief Agency. That group’s parent organization is the Islamic African Relief Agency, which the Treasury Department says provided funds to Osama bin Laden, al-Qaeda, Hamas and other terrorist organizations.
After leaving Baltimore, el-Sheikh served as imam at the infamous Dar al-Hijrah Islamic Center in Falls Church. That mosque has a lengthy roster of known terrorists and terrorist sympathizers. Its imam during much of the 1990s was Mohammed al-Hanooti. He was named an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, which killed six people.
Dar al-Hijrah came under the control of Anwar al-Awlaki in 2001.

Ted Cruz Is Good for People Like Me

But I believe he'd be bad for America. Conservative or not his increasing H1B visas by 500% (most of whom eventually go on to apply for Permanent Residence and then citizenship) would accelerate the pace of America turning into a third world country. In the end, even though a Cruz presidency would make it easier for me and my family to move to the US, I don't think it would be a country I would want to move to by that time anyway.

Trump on the other hand would make it pretty hard for me and my family to move to the US. But I like what he has to say and he puts Americans first, which is what the leader of a country should do. I also have hope that he'd trigger a return to sanity all around the world. Many compare him to Reagan but I think he's more like Churchill. Extremely flawed but exactly what the world needs at this point in time.

BBC: Why does Sweden have more boys than girls?

From the BBC:
There is something odd going on with the ratio between boys and girls in Sweden. The latest estimates suggest there are 123 boys for every 100 girls among 16 and 17-year-olds.
That's an even greater imbalance than in the same age group in China.
The natural "sex ratio at birth" is 105 boys for every 100 girls, according to the World Health Organization - and official statistics show that in 2014, there were 108 boys for every 100 girls among Sweden's 16 and 17-year-olds.
But the country now has 123 boys for every 100 girls in this age group, according to Valerie Hudson of Texas A&M University. If this is correct, it will be quite something.
China's one child policy and a preference for sons led some couples to opt for sexually selective abortions, contributing to a sex ratio there of 117 boys for every 100 girls aged 16 and 17.
I guess the solution to this problem is for Swedish boys to declare themselves to be girls.

Man who claims to be former Islamic State fighter, says IS has 4 nuclear weapons in Western nations ready to detonate

The story can not be substantiated at this point.

GO READ THE WHOLE THING.

AND THEN THERE'S THIS:

ISIS threaten an attack on Britain so horrific it will 'turn children's hair white' as latest video shows white jihadi warning of further outrages in Europe and shooting captives

Terror group's newspaper warns UK will suffer 'lion's share' of attack
Meanwhile, a video warns of attacks which will make the West forget 9/11
But the French-speaking jihadi suggests Spain will be main target
Killer says this is because Muslim rule was overthrown there 500 years ago
Frankly, this doesn't sound very well thought out.

Anyway, here's the video of the former ISIS Fighter talking about the Nuke:

Nico (who is a former Muslim from UAE, and a IBA contributor) comments:
Interesting.
Throughout the video I was thinking about the verse in the Quran:
"I shall cast terror in the hearts of the unbelievers."
Ex-Islamic State fighter? Sounds more like their messenger in Europe in the hopes that this message will be run on news channels (since he apparently is emailing it to news outlets) for all the infidels to run scared about. And at the same time sounds like a recruitment video with:
"You shouldn't underestimate IS anymore because they're not a group anymore but a huge army with incredibly large resources, a lot of money and many militaristic weapons..."
The second half which was the one that solidifies what I'm thinking even more is the one on this Shabh guy. What a perfect way for this asshole to spread the message of the Caliph to Muslims in the West, "We know this Shabh guy is a traitor, if you see him, seize him and you will be given 2 million dollars by the Caliph himself. He's important, has a lot of information and we can easily torture him (we are good at it too!) and get all that information."
The amount of time this guy spent on Shabh was incredible and seemingly not related to the rest of the charade of him "warning the West and avoiding the coming war".
The whole video (or letter) sounds like it is a "get ready, 2016 is the year we'll attack and we have nukes!" call.
More like a rallying a troops kind of letter.
He did not seem to suggest the nukes are in Europe already but rather that have destinations, also sounds like, going with the theory of him being an IS messenger, he's trying to get recruits to get those weapons to the destinations they want them to go. Or if they don't have nukes already, then trying to get someone who can get those weapons to listen and get them interested because "hey, we plan on attacking these major powers".
All in all I think it is a message for IS members to listen and also to scare the infidels.

Danish female journalist on rapes and terrorism: European "Men Act Like Women" - We need men “that can stand up, who can fight back”

From 10 News DK.

AND THEN THERE'S THIS:

'There's no room for anything manly now': Feminist writer Camille Paglia speaks out AGAINST the loss of masculine virtues and its negative impact on society
Our society is neutering boys of their maleness at a young age, while the lack of people with military experience in important positions is a recipe for disaster, claims Camille Paglia, the controversial lesbian author and social critic.
Self-described ‘dissident feminist’ Paglia, 66, believes that attempts to deny the biological distinctions between men and women is to blame for the much that is wrong with modern society.
'What you're seeing is how a civilization commits suicide’ she told the Wall Street Journal.

It Begins ... 200 Masked Men In Stockholm Station Target And Beat Migrants After Migrant Youth Gangs Wreak Havoc At Station

From the Daily Mail:
A mob of black-clad masked men went on a rampage in and around Stockholm’s main train station last night beating up refugees and anyone who did not look like they were ethnically Swedish.
Before the attack, the group of 200 people handed out xenophobic leaflets with the message ‘Enough now’.
Swedish media reported that the thugs, allegedly linked to Sweden’s football hooligan scene, were targeting unaccompanied minors with a ‘foreign’ background.

U.S. Navy sends ship near disputed island in South China Sea

The U.S. Navy sent a ship near a contested island in the South China Sea on Saturday to challenge “excessive maritime claims that restrict the rights and freedoms of the United States and others,” a U.S. Defense Department spokesman told CNN.
“This operation challenged attempts by the three claimants, China, Taiwan and Vietnam, to restrict navigation rights and freedoms around the features they claim by policies that require prior permission or notification of transit within territorial seas,” Cmdr. Bill Urban said.
“This operation demonstrates, as President Obama and Secretary [Ash] Carter have stated, the United States will fly, sail and operate anywhere international law allows. That is true in the South China Sea, as in other places around the globe.”
The USS Curtis Wilbur, an Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer, sailed within 12 nautical miles of the Triton Island, part of the Paracel Islands – an archipelago claimed by the three.
None of them was notified of the move.
“This operation was about challenging excessive maritime claims that restrict the rights and freedoms of the United States and others, not about territorial claims to land features,” Urban said. “The United States takes no position on competing sovereignty claims between the parties to naturally formed land features in the South China Sea. The United States does take a strong position on protecting the rights, freedoms, and lawful uses of the sea and airspace guaranteed to all countries, and that all maritime claims must comply with international law.”
A spokeswoman for China’s Foreign Ministry denounced the action.
“The U.S. naval ship violated Chinese law to enter China’s territorial waters. China monitored the ship’s movement and issued verbal messages in accordance with law,” Hua Chunying said. “We urge the U.S. side to respect and abide by relevant laws of China, and do more to improve mutual trust as well as regional peace and stability.”

Cui Tiankai, the Chinese ambassador to the United States, told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour that the operation was “a very serious provocation, politically and militarily.”
And a spokesman for the Chinese defense ministry, Senior Col. Yang Yujun, said Saturday’s move and ones like it are “very unprofessional and irresponsible in terms of the safety of troops on both sides.”
“It may cause extremely dangerous consequences,” Yang said. “No matter what provocative actions the U.S. takes, the Chinese military will take all necessary means to firmly protect sovereignty and security.”

Topless protesters disrupt Muslim conference on women

Telegraph UK
Two Femen protesters were arrested after baring their breasts at a controversial conference near Paris on the role of Muslim women.
According to Inna Shevchenko, a spokeswoman for the feminist protest group, two fundamentalist preachers were discussing the question of “whether wives should be beaten or not” when the activists, aged 25 and 31, ripped off their Arab-style cloaks and jumped on to the stage on Saturday evening. One had the slogan “No one subjugates me” inked across her torso. The other bore the words “I am my own prophet.”
The protesters, aged 25 and 31, grabbed microphones and shouted feminist slogans in French and Arabic before being roughly bundled off the stage by about 15 men and handed over to police. Video footage of the incident shows a man apparently kicking one of the women.

According to Ms Shevchenko, some of the men shouted “dirty whores” and “kill them”. She thanked the police for protecting the two women, who were taken into custody. They were released after being questioned by prosecutors, who said they would continue investigating what happened. Conference organisers said they would press charges against the activists.

Republican Candidate Analysis for my vote

DONALD TRUMP - 100% correct on border, 100% correct on trade.

Extremely wrong on banning by religion, EVEN on a temporary basis. He could have and should have accomplished the same purpose by other VASTLY more intelligent and pragmatic means.
As an American who happens to be Jewish, this triggers every warning bell in the SINGLED OUT FOR ANY REASON alarm system.

Glad he knows WHO is responsible for terror, but get smarter.

Alarmed that his attitude about Putin as someone he can DEAL with is almost PRECISELY the attitude LBJ had about Ho Chi Minh in 1965. It’s not all business. Sometimes it’s about the naked result of what all the business generates, and the means of its achievement become lost.

Gets the Chinese economic issue, and how that relates to military and other hard power 100%
Understand how to handle control of issues, leadership, and while he is a poll watcher it seems to be as justification that what he says and how he says it IS EFFECTIVE
But it may turn out to be impossible to vote for him based on his singling out a religion.

MAY

TED CRUZ - the conservative bona fides are attractive, without any doubt. However, during the govt shut down he euchred the House Repubs into voting that way based on him telling them he had senatorial support for the same thing and it just was not correct (to put it politely).

He also voted AGAINST BOTH the TAA, and then the TPP. This shows he understands the economic issues, at the same level, if not the same expertise as Trump. It’s on this issue I have a problem with conservative orthodoxy candidate tests.

My judgement therefore is that Cruz is conservative and PRAGMATIC.

Free Trade (the ideological position for orthodoxy) has TURNED OUT to be a system whereby modest gains in price, VERY MODEST GAINS in terms of reduced price increases have been paid for by the shipping of jobs and careers overseas to the lowest production costs, where working conditions are horrific because the poorest will tolerate them. The gain in production costs have gone to the boards, upper management, financial instruments, and LARGE stockholders. Arguments that this has benefited millions of 401k’s fall short because the people investing in those are the people hurt as those careers dwindle.

We have now reached the state where R&D, product design and engineering is going overseas along with advanced degree education in Asian nations replacing American.

The TPP could only be advanced be cause the TAA represented a one year security blanket of payments and retraining for the jobs ALL ACKNOWLEDGED would have disappeared to some Kuala Lumpur or Sri Lanka, and was supported by the Democrats as a sop to the unions, but in fact represented another payoff of SOME KIND to the political class …. i.e. Wall Street  Democrats and and Corporate Republicans - which is why I have a very hard time with -

MARCO RUBIO - who supported the TAA and the TPP.

I agree with him on NEARLY every foreign policy issue. But his hard stances on this might turn the United States into a modern version of 18th century Spain, with a huge set of self imposed foreign responsibilities, and an economy no longer able to support them because the disposable income and profits (and therefore govt revenue) have migrated JUST ENOUGH to Asia.

While I have opinions on everyone else, unless something happens, THAT’s not going to happen.
I have NO IDEA who I’m going to vote for in the primary right now, and I might not until I stand in the voting booth.
