Debt is not an abstract - Greece Forced to Make Drastic Cuts in Military Spending

Greece's serious financial troubles are going to affect their military spending. Yhe highest in the European Union and second in NATO only to the United States, the Greeks spend 2.8% of their GDP on defense, compared to an average 1.7% in the other European NATO countries. Defense personnel account for 2.9% of the active population against an average 1.1% in other NATO member states.

Deputy defense minister Panos Beglitis was asked earlier this week by my colleagues at Le Monde about the defense budget. "We have lived totally surealistically," he conceded

There is no doubt this is the American future, UNLESS we change, and THEY don't HAVE to spend on defense the way we do

EPA, how do you figure?

Greece is the line in the proverbial sand with only the Mediterranean serving as a barrier from dar al islam. They've been fighting this beast for centuries. Greece MUST continue to fund it's military to survive.

The US never did and never can fulfill all Greece's security against dar al islam.

From 1492 on to the loss of it's colonies in south america, the Spanish army NEVER suffered a major defeat in the field.
The navy but one.

THEY RAN OUT OF GOLD. When they did they had an unsustainable budget.

They are GONE.

They were ruled by hereditary morons.
We elect ours.
We can choose.
