THE Iconic American

Every man knows he's a sissy
compared to Johnny Cash.
-- Bono

The last of the American recordings set to be released Tuesday February 23.

American VI is material culled from the Unearthed recordings, takes not used when Johnny recorded American V.

Babbazee sent this to me.

Imagine that something THIS GOOD could have not been used.

Wow.

Well, Cash recorded something like 50 takes for American V before he passed away. It was left to Rick Rubin to choose the best for American V and then this album.

American V is extrordinary, especially when you consider the things Cash was battling at the end of his life, including the loss of his beloved June.

Pasto you especially might like another album Cash released in his later years. My Mother's Hymnal.

My bad on the title. It's My Mother's Hymn Book.

Listen to some samples now that you, ahem, know how to turn your speakers on.

This piece gives me the shivers, and I'm Jewish. Awesome. Thanks for sharing.
