Carlin was quite the social observer and commenter. I really enjoy his stuff.

He did get very bitter and nasty towards the end, and his edgy comedy ceased being funny and just became angry.

What makes his humor work is the 'your house will never be completely clean, no one is properly dressed'

when you class that with the other stuff you get the bad moments of the human condition perfectly packaged for when your team is down two runs in the 7th with the bases loaded and 2 out, and a .200 hitting sub is coming to bat.
