Poll indicates that 50% of British people would vote in a new anti-immigration party, 52% Agree "Muslims Create Problems"

Who woulda thunk it?

From Eye on the World:
A poll undertaken in the UK which asked the question, "would you vote for the far-right if they abandoned violence?", has revealed that 48% of the British population would do so.

According to the survey: 39% of Asian Britons, 34% of white Britons and 21% of black Britons wanted all immigration into the UK to be stopped permanently, or at least until the economy improved.

43% of Asian Britons, 63% of white Britons and 17% of black Britons agreed with the statement that "immigration into Britain has been a bad thing for the country".

Just over half of respondents – 52% – agreed with the proposition that "Muslims create problems in the UK".

The poll also identified a majority keen to be allowed to openly criticise religion, with 60% believing they "should be allowed to say whatever they believe about religion". By contrast, fewer than half – 42% – said "people should be allowed to say whatever they believe about race".

- But the far-right, presumably meaning the BNP, EDL and UKIP, have "abandoned" violence, that is if they ever advocated it in the first place, which I don't believe they ever have.

"39% of Asian Britons, 34% of white Britons and 21% of black Britons wanted all immigration into the UK to be stopped permanently, or at least until the economy improved."

- Hallelujah! And Asians--a group that includes Muslims--are more anti-immigration than whites. I guess they must be less infected with the suicidal PC virus, though 63% of whites said immigration to Britain has been a bad thing. Which is a good thing.

And with a majority agreeing that Muslims create problems in the UK, these results are yet more good news out of Europe recently. The European people, white and non-white, seem to have had enough of the Third World immigration invasion and Islamization of their nations. Now they have to translate these popular sentiments into public policy by voting for the anti-immigration and anti-Islam "far-right" politicians, who are the only ones who will action on these issues.

Asian Britons? Black Britons? The European people, white and non-white?

Sorry jeppo, but I'm not following you?

AR,
"Asian Britons" and "black Britons" are from the article. "The European people, white and non-white" is mine.

Not sure what you're talking about, but if it's the oxymoronic quality of "Asian Britons" etc., kinda like "jumbo shrimp" or "military intelligence", I hear ya.

"Asian-Britons" is often a euphemism for Muslims.

But, it also includes Indians, who are often Hindu, Sikh, or Christian.

There are not a whole lot of actual Asians (Orientals) in Britain. Or, at least I did not see many.

Lots of real Asians in Canada, though, huh Jeppo?

West Asians and South Asians are usually considered Caucasoids

Ok, I see.

That makes sense.

So, in America we identify people by race, whereas, in Europe people are more likely to be defined by their place of origin.

Hey fellow IBA readers, do you have 42 minutes or so to spare for some lighter sf entertainment? This excellent DS9 episode makes some great points very effectively - especially if you watch with a younger person. I thought about saying more to entice you, but I couldn't think of what to say that wouldn't be a spoiler. I will say that I imagine most people here would be reminded of a certain (ahem) "religion" as they watch.

It goes to show that some facets of pop culture have actually been trying to teach us a few things for quite some time (perhaps through that Jungian collective-subconscious thing Pasto once mentioned) but we generally lump it all together as simply "entertainment", as I did above in my first sentence.

Unfortunately, those links don't work.

I see pop culture dealing with Muslims quite often, but always couched in metaphor, alien invasions (Battle for LA), the Persians of 300, Lord of the Rings, etc.

Oxymoron is putting it lightly, jeppo.

Makes my blood boil.
