Report: Co-Pilot of Germanwing Began Descent

From AFP:
Marignane (France) (AFP) - The co-pilot "voluntarily" initiated the descent of the Germanwings flight that crashed into the French Alps and refused to open the door to the pilot who was outside the cockpit, the lead investigator said on Thursday.
"The co-pilot is alone at the controls," said prosecutor Brice Robin, recounting information gathered from the "black box" recorder. "He voluntarily refused to open the door of the cockpit to the pilot and voluntarily began the descent of the plane."
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Frankfurt - The co-pilot of the Germanwings jet that crashed in the French Alps was on the job since September 2013 and had 630 hours of flying experience, the parent company, German flag carrier Lufthansa, said on Thursday.
The co-pilot "was First Officer at Germanwings since September 2013," a Lufthansa spokesperson told AFP.
Prior to that, he had been trained as a pilot at Lufthansa Flight Training in the northern German city of Bremen and had 630 hours of flying experience under his belt.
By comparison, the plane's pilot had more than 10 years experience and 6 000 hours of experience flying the Airbus A320 model, Lufthansa revealed previously.

Experts say evidence of another pilot knocking on the door, and the lack of distress call, points towards an intentional nosedive

INCAPACITATED CO-PILOT COULD NOT HAVE LOCKED PILOT OUT OF COCKPIT
Pilots noted last night that anyone leaving the cockpit is automatically "locked out" until re-entry with a keypad code.
The keypad does not activate and open the door for thirty seconds, allowing the pilot on the other side to manually "lock" the door from the inside so that no one can enter.
An incapacitated pilot would not have manually locked the door. A pilot who was fully aware of his actions, would lock the other pilot out.
First name, or last name of remaining pilot in cockpit? Now THAT will be interesting.
Undoubtedly the delay is so that his (or HER) digital footprint can be erased so that blogging snoops cannot follow any forensic evidence.

We now have the copilot's name, Andreas Lubitz. But what's in a name?

Remember Zachary Chesser?

Do we know if this co pilot has any link to Islam ideology?

That he could have killed himself is one thing, but this is a murder suicide and a "spectacular" one, that is, one to get everyone's attention, consistent with Islamic ideology.

Will European media seek to downplay this element, if it is true?

France's air force says it scrambled a Mirage fighter jet to the area when the Germanwings flight lost radar contact, but arrived too late to help via Stripes.com.

Translation from PINews hat tip: FreeRepublic
“The West German politicians knew from the beginning that this was not a technical defect , but a deliberately induced guided suicide (for whatever reason) . Because otherwise is not to explain why France has chased 3 interceptor behind the Boeing . They had scared of an attack on a nuclear power plant. Merkel and FRG leaders went on the Ars.h Grundeis that this was an Islamic attack , so the comic reactions of Merkel and FRG politicians . The political elite BRD was in total panic , and was afraid of the consequences !!! Now it will continue as before , Islam = peace , Islam is part of Germany , the Islamization does not occur. But I did not stop an Islam do not rule out anyway, now more than ever! I believe that nothing more ! 7 nuclear facilities within a few minutes of flight Ausgestrahit.de
Compare with map of flight path

Fighter jets were scrambled to keep the nuclear plants safe from a plane that did NOT respond to Marseille ATC.
nuke sites all over that area of France

No link, but also read a comment suggesting the pilot did NOT leave the cockpit once from the flight inbound to Barcelona-El Prat.

Another clue surfaces:
TheAge: ...French investigators have contacted German authorities to find more information about the co-pilot. Andreas Lubitz was a German national, 28 years old, but the prosecutor did not know his ethnic origin."

UKDailyMail: Police today made 'significant discovery' at his home outside Dusseldorf

Raises serious questions about why he was allowed to fly commercial jet

Police investigating the Germanwings crash said tonight they had made a
'significant discovery' at the home of pilot Andreas Lubitz, who
deliberately ploughed the Airbus A320 into the French Alps.

Officers refused to reveal details of the potential breakthrough but said it was not a suicide note.

Speaking outside the flat on the outskirts of Dusseldorf, police said they had 'found something' that would now be taken for tests, adding it may be a 'clue' as to what happened to the doomed jet.

German detectives were also pictured carrying evidence from a £400,000 home in Montabaur, a town 40 miles from Bonn, that Lubitz is believed to have shared with his parents.

The 28-year-old is understood to have split his time between the two addresses.

If he ever walked past a mosque without pissing in its doorway, Muslims will call him a friend of Islam and claim he did it all for mohammed. Nothingto do with the guy or his beliefs, it's just that that's what Muslims are like. Gliding is more popular in Germany than in the rest of Europe, if not the world only for one reason, it's historical association with Nazis. Despite the treaty of Versailles prohibiting all and any air forces, when Germany decided to abrogate the treaty the German air force arose overnight, fully trained, thanks to the gliding clubs which had arisen all over Germany. The same clubs rose again in the 50's, started by the same guys with the same mindset. I have not been in the country for nearly 50 years, things might have changed, I don't know.
