Oakland Mayor Announces Program to Give $500 Per Month to Low-Income Families – But Not If They’re White
The mayor of Oakland, California, on Tuesday announced a privately funded program that will give low-income families of color $500 per month with no rules on how they can spend it. The Oakland Resilient Families program has so far raised $6.75 million from private donors including Blue Meridian Partners, a national philanthropy group.
To be eligible, people must have at least one child under 18 and income at or below 50% of the area median income — about $59,000 per year for a family of three. Half the spots are reserved for people who earn below 138% of the federal poverty level, or about $30,000 per year for a family of three. Participants will be randomly selected from a pool of applicants who meet the eligibility requirements.
Oakland’s project is significant because it is one of the largest efforts in the U.S. so far, targeting up to 600 families. And it is the first program to limit participation strictly to Black, Indigenous and people of color communities.
The reason: White households in Oakland on average make about three times as much annually than black households, according to the Oakland Equity Index. It’s also a nod to the legacy of the Black Panther Party, the political movement that was founded in Oakland in the 1960s.

Vaccine Wars – Pharma Lobby Wants To Punish Countries Pushing For Low Cost Vaccines
The drug lobby has asked US President Joe Biden to punish countries including India, South Africa, Chile, Colombia, Hungary and others for seeking increasing production of Covid-19 vaccines without express consent from big pharma companies. The drug lobby is fighting for tight control over vaccine production and seeking punishment for countries pushing for low-cost vaccines.
In Hungary now we have 7-8 kinds of vaccines available including some 2-3 Chinese ones and 1-2 Russian, plus we are building our own factory that will produce locally developed ‘Corona vaccines’. So I think the Gates mafia is now jealous and angry because their vaccines (Pfizer, Oxford, J&J, Astra etc.) are losing ‘market’ here.
But this does not mean that Hungary remains free: we went full Commie as well, for example the fascist “vaccine passport” is being introduced here too. However we have fierce debates with Brussels if our ‘green passport’ would be accepted in other countries of the EU that prefer Pfizer and its mRNA brothers.

The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a Hawaii gun regulation, ruling Wednesday that states can restrict the right to openly carry a firearm in public. The 7-4 decision said restrictions on carrying guns in public do not fall within the scope of what is protected by the Second Amendment.
"We have never assumed that individuals have an unfettered right to carry weapons in public spaces," the majority ruled. "Indeed, we can find no general right to carry arms into the public square for self defense."
"The en banc court held that the Second Amendment does not guarantee an unfettered, general right to openly carry arms in public for individual self-defense. Accordingly, Hawaii�s firearms-carry scheme is lawful."
The case was brought by George Young, who applied for a license twice in 2011 to carry a gun in public either openly or concealed and was denied both times because he didn't prove the "urgency or the need" to openly carry a firearm in public, the decision said. Instead, Young relied on his "general desire to carry a firearm for self-defense."
Under Hawaii's law, residents have to show the "urgency or the need" to carry a firearm in public and must be of good moral character and "engaged in the protection of life and property." .
Judge Diarmuid F. O'Scannlain authored Wednesday�s dissent, calling the ruling "extreme."
"The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution guarantees 'the right of the people to keep and bear Arms'. Today, a majority of our court has decided that the Second Amendment does not mean what it says," the minority dissented.
"Instead, the majority holds that while the Second Amendment may guarantee the right to keep a firearm for self-defense within one�s home, it provides no right whatsoever to bear-i.e., to carry -- that same firearm for self-defense in any other place."
"This holding is as unprecedented as it is extreme." "We now become the first and only court of appeals to hold that public carry falls entirely outside the scope of the Amendment�s protections," O'Scannlain continued. "In so holding, the majority reduces the right to 'bear Arms' to a mere inkblot."

Researchers at Stockholm University are working on a wide range of challenges related to the climate crisis and creating a more sustainable future.
The Local spoke to three of its experts about their work – and their hopes and concerns for the future. Seeking to build systems that are both sustainable and dynamic, what must policymakers understand about economics and the environment?
“Coronavirus lays bare all the inequalities and all the things we were doing wrong in a merciless and cruel way,” says Anna Tompsett.
“It’s very clear that markets don’t help you achieve environmental goals or address inequality in society. That’s basic economic theory.”
Tompsett is the British course director for Economics of Development and the Environment, a second year Master’s course at Stockholm University. The course explores how the environment has shaped human societies, how human systems have shaped the environment, and how we can improve our understanding of this two-way relationship.
One lecture focuses on infectious diseases. “Epidemiologists were saying that if you stay up at night worrying about something, it should be about a pandemic,” says Tompsett. “Then, it came and suddenly there’s a lot of interest in combining epidemiology and economics, which we’ve been doing all along.”
So what hope for a happier co-existence between economics and the environment from now on? Tompsett says the global focus on continuing the Paris Agreement after the US left and the strong economic case for more wind and solar power are real positives.
“We’ve also seen through the pandemic that we can make radical changes that seemed unthinkable before, so maybe that spirit will carry over into the future,” she adds.

Devastation after Smith College capitulated to a false claim of racism
For several months we have been covering the story of Jodi Shaw, a now-resigned Smith College staff member who blew the whistle on racist “anti-racist” training which singled out and demonized “whites”.
When Shaw first told her story publicly, she emphasized an incident of a false allegation of racism lodged against Smith College staff members. We wrote about that in our very first post about Shaw, Smith College whistleblower hits campus Critical Race Theory indoctrination: “Stop reducing my personhood to a racial category”:
Shaw alludes to the fact that she or her colleagues have been mistreated by students, and Smith College has either encouraged or permitted this behavior, stating, “And, I think we all know what I’m talking about.”
Shaw appears to be referring to a 2018 incident, where a black student accused a custodial staff member of racism for calling Campus Police. The staff member eventually was exonerated, as Inside Higher Ed reported:
Smith College released a report Monday detailing an independent investigation into a July call to campus police and rejecting the idea that the caller was motivated by clear racial bias. During the call, a Smith College custodial employee reported a black student who was eating lunch and relaxing in the Tyler House residence hall living room. The student “seems to be out of place,” the caller told the dispatcher.
But as we indicated in our first post about Shaw, an exhaustive outside investigation cleared the staff members. It was a racism hoax, a false narrative that fed into an national narrative and altered the policies of Smith College.

BREAKING: Over 200 Chinese Vessels in Line Formation Sighted in Philippine Sea within Philippine Exclusive Zone

OVER 200 fishing vessels believed to be manned by Chinese maritime militia were sighted in line formation at the Julian Felipe Reef (Whitsun Reef) on March 7, 2021, the National Task Force for the West Philippine Sea (NTF-WPS) said.
In a statement late Saturday night, March 20, the NTF-WPS said the Philippine Coast Guard confirmed the presence of “around 220 Chinese fishing vessels, believed to be manned by Chinese maritime militia personnel.”
The Chinese vessels massed at the reef showed no actual fishing activities and had their full white lights turned on at night despite the clear weather.
“The NTF-WPS notes this circumstance as a concern due to the possible overfishing and destruction of the marine environment, as well as risks to safety of navigation,” NTF-WPS said.

Two years ago, Ahmad Al-Issa shared a post titled, “Why refugees and immigrants are good for America.” On Monday, the Syrian Muslim immigrant shot up a supermarket killing ten Americans.
Biden declared that he was "still waiting for more information regarding the shooter, his motive, the weapons he used. The guns, the magazines, the weapons, the modifications that have apparently taken place to those weapons that are involved here."
Why do the modifications to the Syrian immigrant's weapons matter more than his motive?
Obama joined in, demanding that it is, “long past time for those with the power to fight this epidemic of gun violence to do so.”
Guns don’t kill people. Muslim terrorists do.
Ahmad Al-Issa spent much of his time in America accusing his classmates and everyone around him of being ‘Islamophobes’. He repeatedly got into furious confrontations with the Americans whom he claimed were disrespecting his Islamic religion.
The media is spinning this as a mental illness, but if hating non-Muslims is a mental illness, then it’s a common one in his home country.
While Ahmad Al-Issa came to America at a young age with his family, the Al-Issa clan originated from Raqqa. The name of the Syrian city may not mean much to most Americans, but it was the former capital of the Caliphate of the Islamic State.
