CAIRO – More than 1,300 years after the Muslim conquest swept through Egypt, one of the country's highest religious authorities has declared that its ancient sculptures are forbidden by Islam.
In his fatwa - or religious ruling - issued earlier this month, Grand Mufti Ali Gomaa quoted a saying of the prophet Muhammad that sculptors will be among those receiving the harshest punishment on Judgment Day.
Artists and intellectuals here say the edict, whose ban on producing and displaying sculptures overturns a century-old fatwa, runs counter to Islam. They also worry that extremists may use the ruling as a pretense for destroying Egypt's ancient relics, which form a pillar of the country's multibillion-dollar tourist industry.
I'm sure Egypt will not allow the wholesale destruction of all art in the land of the Pharaohs since they rely very heavily on tourism and the sale of these 'idols in danger of corrupting minds to worship them". Best to issue a fatwa against blowing up other Egyptians and tourists first.

This illustrates the Muslim concept of jahiliyya - the need to destroy the symbols of superior civilisations. It's the same motivation that led to the destruction of the Buddhas of Bamiyan and thousands of Buddhist works of art before them.
Islam is not just a religion, it's a complete way of life including culture, and it cannot tolerate the existence of the beautiful products of other civilisations with which it compares so unfavorably. The technological products of other cultures which are essential for modern life are usually claimed to have been invented by Muslims.
Jahaliyya is coming our way. How long before the graceful spiritually-inspiring architecture of Christian Europe is destroyed to make way for mosques with their obscene phallic minarets? Minarets are Priapic symbols of Mohammhed's dick, symbols of rape and domination.

They will rape our women, murder or enslave us men. They will humiliate us, abduct our children to fuck them and convert them, so that in a generation we will have to fight our own flesh and blood, just as the Turks did to the enslaved peoples of the Balkans!"
