My favorite visual in this film is the demolition of the Pruitt-Igoe housing project in St Louis. Circumstances surrounding that particular fiasco are well described in Tom Wolfe's Bauhaus book.

I've never read that book. I've read quite a bit of his work up to, and including, Bonfire of the Vanities.

None since.

My two favorite Wolfe books are "The Painted Word" and "From Bauhaus to Our House." They are both non-fiction and are possibly the best writing on the state of Art and Architecture in the USA post WW II. At least from a skeptics point of view. I recommend then both to anyone interested in the subject.

Well, thank you. I'll check 'em out.
