Austria to shut seven 'political' mosques and expel imams

From the BBC:
Austria has said it will close down seven mosques and expel imams who it says are funded by foreign countries. Chancellor Sebastian Kurz said the move was a crackdown on political Islam.
Some mosques are suspected of having links to Turkish nationalists. In April images emerged showing children in Turkish army uniforms re-enacting the World War One Battle of Gallipoli.
The Turkish president's office called Austria's move "Islamophobic, racist and discriminatory".
The Austrian government says 60 of the 260 imams in the country are being investigated, of whom 40 belong to ATIB, an Islamic organisation in Austria close to the Turkish government.
"Parallel societies, political Islam and radicalisation tendencies have no place in our country," said Chancellor Kurz on Friday.

Parallel societies is an issue, but the larger looming issue is what I have called parallel Parliamentary structures.

It is an open secret that too many mosques are allowed to run family courts to adjudicate issues. Luckily, many imam have ceased to rubber stamp wedding documents unless the couple has the civil certificate issued by the state. They do not want to be involved in polygamous unions.

Unfortunately, I know Muslim men who have a wife on U.S. soil and a wife and family on native soil too. So this practice exists.

My mentorship was under one of the jurists on this tribunal, and long before Breitbart coughed up a hairball about it I was involved in discussions regarding it.

My bottom line? Muslims who love America residing here? Yes. Muslims who want to recreate what they fled back home? Nope.

Great.

But the real question is, what percentage of Muslims support recreating what they fled from?

My guess, 45-55%.

In Europe, 70%.
