A Patriot Party Is a Good Idea

I voted Reform Party in 1992 and wish it could have maintained its momentum. Problem was: while Ross had the right message he was the wrong guy. Too quirky. His 1996 run was halfhearted since the 1994 House Republican Revolution had adopted most of his platform.
Remember that Trump ran for the 2000 Reform party nomination but Ross wouldn't endorse him. After he polled only 7% against Bush/Gore nationally he abandoned the effort.
BTW: the Reform Party nomination eventually went to Pat Buchanan. Infamously, the confusing position of his name on the Broward County FL butterfly ballot probably cost Gore the Presidency.
Since Buchanan's run the Reform Party has more or less evaporated.
