Fauci: Wearing A Mask Is Symbolic, May Be No Second Wave Of COVID-19
“I want to protect myself and protect others, and also because I want to make it be a symbol for people to see that that’s the kind of thing you should be doing,” Fauci, the nation’s top infectious disease expert and a member of the White House’s coronavirus task force, told CNN’s Jim Sciutto on “Newsroom.”
Fauci said he believes that while wearing a mask is not “100% effective,” it is a valuable safeguard and shows “respect for another person.”
“We often talk about the the possibility of a second wave, or of an outbreak when you’re reopening,” Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and a key member of the White House coronavirus task force, said on CNN.
“We don’t have to accept that as an inevitability.”
“And particularly when people start thinking about the fall. I want people to really appreciate that, it could happen but it is not inevitable,” he added.
Last month, Fauci had said in multiple interviews that a second wave of COVID-19 was indeed unavoidable.
“It’s inevitable that the coronavirus will return next season. … When it does, how we handle it, will determine our fate,” he told NBC News.
Fauci is the proverbial monkey on a typewriter. Given enough time, he will eventually say everything that can ever be said.

I believe masks in public show one thing: the malleable compliant who believe a narrative, or the logical and free thinking man who is willing to incur individual risk.
Americans have been shoved off the cliff regarding lockdown, masks, acceptable levels of poverty for "health", etc.
I also believe masking of children will cause a T-Rex spike in childhood anorexia nervosa disorder, anxiety disorders. If you can't breathe the air, than maybe you should not eat either. What is food is bad for us too?
God gave the breath of life and God can take it. But oxygenated air is the gift of God - not a curse. Fauci took it too far and now he is trying to back up in the driveway without running over the masked citizens.
The government now needs to mandate no masks in public because I see such hysteria exhibited in some individuals.
The tin pot dictators have discovered COVID-19 as the pot of gold at the end of the power rainbow. Masks are a symbol of that. They have no intention of giving it up. Just yesterday the t.p.d. Mayor of Boston cancelled the Marathon, which has been held for 123 years through world wars, the Spanish flu, the Depression, and Muslim bombers. Because little Mayor Marty doesn't want to give up his power as early as September.

I think you are correct in that there are huge psychological ramifications to teaching people to wear masks. Lack of identity is one. Individual rights are not so important when one does not express his or her self as an individual.
Also, it is an excellent prep for Islam. My daughters wearing masks, even though encourage them not to do so. They do it because they are in fear. Another kind of fear may eventually make them wear burqas.
