Fully vaxxed Ottawa NHL team sidelined due to major COVID outbreak in its ranks
Breakthrough cases of the highly contagious virus in a sport where players are in such close contact isn’t a surprise: expert.
The Ottawa Senators won’t be taking to the ice tonight against the Nashville Predators, and they have cancelled their Saturday night game against the New York Rangers. They also cancelled an earlier game this week against New Jersey.
A COVID outbreak has sidelined the NHL team, despite having their players fully vaccinated. Ten players and one coach have reportedly tested positive for the virus, equating to approximately 40 per cent of the team.
How does such a thing happen?
