Trump Omitted From The 2020 Ballot?

[source]

From Trump could be left off some states’ ballots in 2020 if these bills become law (Washington Post, March 20, 2019, emphases mine):
In refusing to release his tax returns, President Trump bucked decades of tradition and set off a Democrat hunt to obtain them. Now several statehouses are looking at making their release a condition of the 2020 presidential election: Show us your tax returns, or you can’t be on the ballot.

Eighteen states have considered legislation this year that would require presidential and vice presidential candidates to post their tax returns to appear on the ballot during a primary or general election, according to data from the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL).

Proponents of the bills, such as the one passed by the Washington state Senate this week, say they are aimed at increasing transparency and returning to the “norm” of candidates releasing their financial records. But Democratic lawmakers behind the some of the legislation have admitted they are also very much about Trump, which raises legal and political questions about how far states can — or should — go in regulating who appears on their ballot, especially in a hyperpartisan climate.

In addition to Washington, several other states, including California, Hawaii and New Jersey are considering similar bills....

[...]

...[N]ot all politicians think this kind of legislation is a good idea. In 2017, then-New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie vetoed one bill that made it to his desk, calling it “politics at its worst.” Former California governor Jerry Brown, a Democrat, did the same when California’s legislature passed similar measure.

“First, it may not be constitutional,” Brown wrote in his decision. “Second, it sets a ‘slippery slope’ precedent. Today we require tax returns, but what would be next? Five years of health records? A certified birth certificate? High school report cards? And will these requirements vary depending on which political party is in power?”...

The West's Political Class — Determined To Ignore The Will Of The People

Two snippets from Brexit, Trump’s wall, and the cynical inertia of the political class: In our democracies, politicians won’t do what people want:
...More people in the UK voted for Brexit — some 17 million — than have voted for anything at any time in the country’s history....
and
...Back by the Rio Grande, the people most affected are desperate for the wall to be built and for our immigration laws to be enforced. After pursuing other avenues and having been stymied, President Trump finally declared a national emergency to siphon funds from elsewhere to build the wall. The caterwauling over that would have been comical had it not been so obviously cynical. Between 2001 and 2013, various presidents have declared national emergencies 18 times and have diverted funds without Congressional appropriate to various projects. It’s different this time because it’s Trump....

So, what are WE THE PEOPLE supposed to be when we are regarded as peasants beyond the moat, peasants who, according to the oligarchy of all political parties, are incapable of understanding what we want for today and for our future?

I submit that we in the West are at a turning point: it's now or never for the future of our nations as representative governments.

"Impromptu" Trump Interview

I caught this interview live. This interview was impromptu on the part of Steve Doocy, but I'll bet that President Trump staged this. After all, Fox & Friends, which airs from 6:00 AM-9:00 AM weekdays, is the President's favorite news show.

Worth watching.  In addition to what he's saying, note how well President Trump comports himself and how much charisma he can exude:

Trump Voters Are Fed Up!

From the sidebar of the web page of my friend Kid:

Too many broken promises!

I hope that what Dave Brat did to Eric Cantor in 2014 goes nationwide in 2018 and 2020.

The GOP has too often joined with the Democratic Party to become the uniparty.

This is war!

Why Trump Tweets

And should continue to Tweet (HERE and HERE, two different Twitter accounts).

The Democrats, the establishment GOP, and the media want President Trump to stop Tweeting because his Tweets are interfering with and eroding the narrative.

As Donald J. Trump Tweeted @ 8:23 this morning:

Even Without The Wall

Like many others, I'm pissed off that the border wall promised by Donald Trump is not under construction and still remains unfunded. The wall was the primary plank of Trump's campaign platform.

That said, if the following information is true, the Trump Administration needs to get the word out — before Donald Trump loses the support of a core group within the electorate that elected him to the Oval Office. WE THE PEOPLE are wary of our so-called elected public servants, because they have so often reneged on campaign promises made.

Comey On Capitol Hill

Mathematician, physicist, inventor, writer, philosopher Blaise Pascal (1626-1662)

I didn't watch all of FBI Director James Comey's March 20, 2017 testimony on Capitol Hill.  Of course, I've seen snippets of video and the screeching headlines.

Is THIS accurate?
FBI’s Comey Doesn’t Deny the FBI Is Wiretapping Trump: 'I just can’t talk about anything that relates to the FISA process in an open setting’

The FBI is leaving open the possibility it sought -- and perhaps attained -- a wiretap of Donald Trump's communications.

When addressing the controversy over whether the Trump Tower was wiretapped during the Obama Administration, the FBI director, James Comey, tread carefully, acknowledging there is an investigation into Donald Trump's campaign's communications with Russia, but said there is "no evidence" to support Trump's tweets exactly as written.

Comey notably left open the possibility that it had, or still is, monitoring Trump communications.

When asked whether the FBI sought a FISA court warrant to wiretap Trump's team, Comey simply said he cannot comment on anything FISA related.

Here's an excerpt from Comey's question and answer session with Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.):...

Another question: What facts were presented in Comey's testimony?

Damn It! Trump!

You are in the political fight of your life. The purpose of the attacks on your Administration is to stop you from doing what you promised, in the least - and the taking down of your Administration and YOU at the worst.

WAKE UP! Fight Back!

To paraphrase Peter Finch in Network - "I don't expect your people to be capable of the truth, but god-dammit, at least your Administration is capable of self-preservation.

This is not politics of the loyal opposition. This is WAR - an attempt at sedition - Mr. President and you owe it to yourself - and us to see it that way and do something about it.

The only answer to this despicable attempt at sedition is to answer No No NO! Pound sand before we respond to any of it.

And if the RINOs in Congress don't back you, threaten to primary their asses in 2020.

You'll get no help from the Democrats, the media and the RINOS. You have to go straight to the people who elected you.

Us.

Who rules the United States?

There is no better explanation of the meta-struggle that is taking place politically in this country than this Washington Free Beacon article.

It presents a clear explanation of what the meta-struggle is and how the election of Trump did NOT cause it but EXPOSED it. Read the whole thing but here are some highlights and my editorial comments.

There are two separate systems of government now in competition with each other that have been going on for decades now and are finally exposed to the public by the election of President Trump.

The last few weeks have confirmed that there are two systems of government in the United States. The first is the system of government outlined in the U.S. Constitution—its checks, its balances, its dispersion of power, its protection of individual rights. Donald Trump was elected to serve four years as the chief executive of this system. Whether you like it or not.The second system is comprised of those elements not expressly addressed by the Founders. This is the permanent government, the so-called administrative state of bureaucracies, agencies, quasi-public organizations, and regulatory bodies and commissions, of rule-writers and the byzantine network of administrative law courts. (OTHERWISE KNOWN AS the Government-Media Academia Complex with its hand maiden of these elites - the bureaucracy) This is the government of unelected judges with lifetime appointments who, far from comprising the "least dangerous branch," now presume to think they know more about America's national security interests than the man elected as commander in chief.
For some time, especially during Democratic presidencies, the second system of government was able to live with the first one. (and we are wells aware of that ‘cooperation’ – the Uni-party of donkeys and elephants) But that time has ended. The two systems are now in competition. And the contest is all the more vicious and frightening because more than offices are at stake. This fight is not about policy. It is about wealth, status, the privileges of an exclusive class. (The ELITES) But here's the difference. Legislative roadblocks, adversarial journalists, and public marches are typical of a constitutional democracy. They are spelled out in our founding documents: the Senate and its rules, and the rights to speech, a free press, and assembly. Where in those documents is it written that regulators have the right not to be questioned, opposed, overturned, or indeed fired, that intelligence analysts can just call up David Ignatius and spill the beans whenever they feel like it? "What truly matters," Trump said in his Inaugural Address, "is not which party controls our government, but whether our government is controlled by the people."By any historical and constitutional standard, "the people" elected Donald Trump and endorsed his program of nation-state populist reform. Yet over the last few weeks America has been in the throes of an unprecedented revolt. Not of the people against the government—that happened last year—but of the government against the people. What this says about the state of American democracy, and what it portends for the future, is incredibly disturbing.

Who rules the United States? The simple and terrible answer is we do not know. But we are about to find out.
