All of us, every single man, woman, and child on the face of the Earth were born with the same unalienable rights; to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And, if the governments of the world can't get that through their thick skulls, then, regime change will be necessary.
Smooth Jazz = kind of like Disco, that it is a music with a purpose, to be background to something else - (Disco is a background to dancing and picking up babes - smooth jazz is a background to driving and working)
Fusion - really basically the same kind of music, but made to be concentrated on, with awe, and/or savor.

How would you guys define the differences between smooth jazz and Fusion?
If I wanted to start a fusion collection what are some artists I should look for?

What about, say, European Chamber Jazz, like Jan Garbarek, or, say,
I have a pretty weak Jazz collection, but I have it all lumped together.

I want to subdivide into
Real Jazz
Smooth Jazz
Fusion
and start adding more to each.
You know Herb Albert's Tijuana Brass, in the 60s, was really the Wrecking Crew. Not a real Latino in the group.
I think King Crimson is one of those bands that defy categorization.
Yeah, I never got the feeling they were Tijuana Mariachis.
LOL
