"Obamacare enrollees become urban legend”

Miami Herald.
That can’t be good, right?
Nearly two weeks after the federal government launched the online Health Insurance Marketplace at HealthCare.gov, individuals who have successfully used the choked-up website to enroll for a subsidized health insurance plan have reached a status akin to urban legend: Everyone has heard of them, but very few people have actually met one.
The Miami Herald searched high and low for individuals who completed enrollment for a subsidized health plan through the marketplace, also called an exchange, launched by the federal government on Oct. 1 in 36 states, including Florida.
As of Friday, however, only a smattering of success stories had emerged in news reports. Politico.com, an online news outlet, reportedthat a 21-year-old Georgia resident who enrolled successfully has become a cause célèbre, with national media and even the White House touting his story.
For now, there’s no reason for consumers to panic, federal officials say.
Despite cynical denial, when the federal govt says don’t panic….
Btw this story references a new tool which will give you an estimate of your premium before any tax credit/subsidy. This tool puts the price of Gold at the price of my wife’s plan (but that would be a BEYOND PLATINUM plan).
However, the Maine State info site tool indicates a premium of $1052, multiplied by an  age factor (2.952), an area factor (.0954), and a plan factor (1.27) which is north of $3700 a month.
The Maine Options Health Care site, a co-op insurance entity created so that there would be more than one insurance company available (there are just 2 here now), indicated the same basic premium, but does not mention any other factor.
Therefore, NO 2 SOURCES can give you a feel for what is actually transpiring, nor do they agree.
